Weekend Trip to The Fairy Forest

This property had everything we needed during our visit to the redwoods. The canvas tent was great, the heater worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable and we loved the outdoor shower. Kim was friendly and accommodating with some great suggestions.

The host are some of the most welcoming people and truly make you feel like family. They did not hesitate to invite me over to their campfire where we talked for hours. The sites were clean and well maintained. Additionally the bathrooms were spotless, and the showers had hot and cold water. The site is also great for those wanting to explore the outdoors as it is in close proximity to the redwood national and state parks.

This was the best! It feels like you’re actually camping but with a nice comfy bed. The dehumidifier and space heater really do keep you warm. The land is gorgeous and I’d stay here over and over again. It was a great location to do all the redwood and beach exploring that we wanted to do. Kimberly was amazing and offered so much to make our stay more comfortable for us. 10/10.

This place is a total gem. The creek scenery and sounds and lush green were incredible. Deeply nourishing. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Like a white cloud. I begged the owner for the links to buy the pillow and comforter lol. There is a cool massage room and had a very relaxing massage. Only thing I would do different is rented a tent closer to the spring because it’s too beautiful not to be close.

We had a wonderful time at Radio Ranch. We had initially planned on doing several hikes while in that area, but after spending one day on the ranch, we didn’t want to leave. It was so relaxing just to sit by the waterfall and read! All of the accommodations and amenities were perfect and we were really comfortable. I would 100% recommend this place!

Truly one of my favorite stops along my 2 week journey. The tent was cleaner than some of the motels I stayed in and the bed was so cozy. The garden is adorable and the location is fantastic to access some of my favorite beaches and a cute small town. I wish I had planned to stay more than 1 night and would definitely stay here again. 10/10 Kimberly was so kind and helpful too! (can't comment on the shower because I didn't use it but seems like it would be a cool experience in the summer, I would have been too cold in April:)

We had a great stay in the Puma RV! Mystic Forest is in a great location to explore all of the Redwood parks. The accommodations were great and Patrick was a friendly, helpful host. We hope to return one day!

It was exactly what we needed, absolutely loved the window view, and enjoyed the hot stove to keep us warm and cozy. We read books, played board games, and our two dogs were so relaxed so that’s a double win! This place is somewhat secluded, and minutes away from towns which is awesome. Ted and Emily were amazing hosts! Highly recommend!

My aunt and uncle bought the property in 1947 from itsfirst European settler, Paolo Gabrielli, who immigrated in early 1914 from northern Italy with slips of his grapevine in the lining of his coat. (The grapevine still grows over the back deck.) What can you expect? Quiet, beauty, birdsong, ocean roar, widely spaced campsites (only 5 on the 5 acres set aside for camping), extra stuff to purchase if you need or want it (fresh bread, soup, cobbler). Free firewood, local tips on travel and where to hike or what to visit. Or total solitude. Bring your (most non-cattle-chasing breeds) dogs if you wish (males must be neutered). Starlink internet. Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. The air is clean and clear and the water is potable from an artesian spring on the property. No electricity at the sites and no generators allowed. (Charge your electronics at the farmhouse.) We offer homemade soup, cobbler, fresh bread, & morning coffee as $extras; you can order with the booking. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. There are several bars/a wine bar/and a historic saloon that's as old boy as it was in 1890. A music venue in a restored 19th century church has amazing acoustics and attracts international talent as a top-notch venue (sessions are filmed for PBS) midway between Portland and San Francisco. Klamath’s best kept secret

We have been a family owned RV Park/Campground for over 40 years. This is a very rustic, old-fashioned campground located at the end of a neighborhood next to the river. We are adjacent to tribal lands. We are not responsible for their culture or their practices. FYI: this is part of the Northwest coastal Pacific rainforest. Emphasis on rainforest so before you book or before you’re coming, just check the weather. I would also like to say we are bee friendly. As mentioned this is also a RV Park so there will be RVs on site. It is an open field campground dispersed with trees. Neighbors will be present. We are located off the beaten path so we don’t have that many people here on the off-season. If you’d like to be in seclusion then this is the place for you . The river access is right over the levee just a few minutes walk from your campsite. Fishing on the river is allowed but you need a license. We are near the woods and river so wildlife is present. Please make sure your food is put away nightly to discourage critters from coming into camp. The campground is just a short drive from a selection of hiking or biking trails. As well as other attractions like the Jet Boat Tours and Trees of Mystery. Located at the end of a glen cell service in this area can be spotty or non existent depending on the carrier. Wifi is available we just upgraded to a WiFi that should reach most of the park. We welcome people of all seasons. Just ask that you are kind and respectful to each other. Well Behaved Pets Are Allowed. Children and Laughter are Always Welcome. We look forward to your visit. August and September there will be fisher persons in the campground. So be warned of early morning engine noise as they head out to the river for fishing. Electric cars that want to charge there is a $10 fee at time of service. Must make arrangements ahead of a time because 50 amp services are limited. Plus you need to bring your own adapters.

The Fairy Forest

The Fairy Forest is 4 acres of redwood trees one mile from the magical city of Trinidad, CA. People have been camping in our meadow since the 1950's, and I'm happy to carry on the tradition, by opening it up to you. There was a fire on the property in 1901 which left the burnt out hollow stumps which you'll see by the shower. There's one old growth redwood on the property, behind the glampy tent, but everything else in roughly 120 years old. Every year we try to make your glamping experience better and better. This year, we've added an artisan picnic table, built on site, and some solar lights leading to the shower. Outdoor sink and cook space is next on our list! There used to be two campsites on our property, but we closed down one of them to give guests in the glampy tent exclusive usage of the outdoor shower and porta potty. We are also renting out our cabin this year, which has been our home for the last 3 years. There's 10 local beaches to explore in the area, great little restaurants and businesses, and countless trails- including Strawberry Rock, which is right down the street from us. We're 19 miles away from Orick, which is the gateway to Fern Canyon (make a reservation in advance) and all the trails with old growth redwoods. And we're 16 miles from Arcata, a vibrant, colorful and creative city that is home to the first farmer's market in California, which is quite the experience if you find yourself here on a Saturday. Hope you come and stay with us if you find yourself on the Lost Coast.
