Awesome camping grounds! Scenery is beautiful, campsites are clean and large, great location on the river with awesome little beach. Water spigot at each campsite, great little shower, and sink for washing dishes. Truly great spot. We’ll be back!

This campsite was awesome! I did tent camping and Bobby has several secluded campsites to choose from. The communal area is beautiful, functional, and inviting. Bobby is an involved and friendly host. There’s a large fire pit and the commercial kitchen is great. This was the easiest camping I’ve ever done and I would absolutely come back again. This area is home to many fun hikes, lakes, and near a cool state park with a cave tour.

Site 1 is magic! Closest access to the river, stunning views, bird watching galore, and plenty of space to spread out. We had friends at Site 4, and they really enjoyed that space as well, it’s the next biggest after site 1 with plenty of flat space for tents. Terry and his family are very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. We will definitely be back!

2 nights at Bright Bear Camp in Tahoe NF

This place was AMAZING. The little cabin was gorgeous, simplistic but totally decked out with whatever we needed. It was pretty private, and overlooked an amazing patch of forest. Kelley was amazing, so very helpful and kind, she really made sure we had everything we needed. The area was pretty remote, but not challenging to find. Felt just lost enough, but safe the entire time! There’s a sweet little river nearby, and you can hear it from the campsite, it was a short little walk to get there. Cold but stunning. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough. The tent camping looked amazing too, but my partner and I will for sure be back for the little cabin. All in all, the area was gorgeous, the host was phenomenal, the cabin was perfect. Can’t wait to go back! (also shoutout to Kelley’s neighbor Laurie, who was also really kind and generous!)

Outstanding host and campsite. Super easy to find a few miles off 80. Great description of Kelley’s land and direction. We stayed at site3 which is next to the “house”. Big enough for our Sprinter van and bike rack (about 23 feet). Kelley is the perfect blend of helpful and non intrusive. There are 2 ports potties- one inside a building with a sink and one outside in a potty tent( nicer then it sounds lol!) the camp is all solar Powered. We plugged into the system for about an hour (just ask 1st) to run our van battery back to 100 percent. There was water as well but we didn’t need it . Outdoor shower. Outdoor sink for washing dishes. She brought us a thermocell for mosquitos which was really helpful! Pay the $60 to use the sauna. What a treat! It’s heated with firewood and has a cold plunge bucket outside. Big enough for 2-3. She even brought us towels for sauna. We hiked along the bear river which is beautiful and there was an official hiking trail where the road connects with Hwy 20. So peaceful and lovely ! Adorable eve lights that illuminate paths around camp. There are some swinging Adirondack chairs too. We would absolutely stay here again. It took us about 30 minutes to Truckee and one hour to Tahoe city /sunnyside area. Dog was very welcomed and loved it too. Things to note: it is 2 miles down a dirt road . Bring what you need or rent from Kelley. There were some very cute tent/car camping spaces on site as well. Highly recommend this gem

I would highly recommend this place, especially for families. We were in tent #10, nicely secluded on your own section of the babbling creek. #9 is right there, close but not too close, would be great if you were a group and booked 9 and 10 together! The bathrooms are clean, property immaculate, shallow little swimming hole perfect for kids. The carts provided to haul your stuff were great! I would definitely return. The meadow is beautiful also a great place to see some stars or play or watch wildlife.

Terry is an absolute GEM for sharing his property for others to enjoy. It is an incredibly special spot. The private and serene river frontage and all of the amenities that Terry has provided had us never wanting to leave!! The mine is just an extra cherry on top of the COOL factor. Terry is so kind and again I can’t stress enough how lucky I felt that he opened his land to others. Be advised we did take our 14 foot trailer to spot two and you will need a very skilled driver to get it back out and up the grade. We would love to come back in our tent and enjoy the serenity and the perfect swimming hole.

Terry’s property was absolutely amazing. Clean restroom, perfect and refreshing outdoor shower, and the creek is PERFECT. Terry was an extremely warm and welcoming host, was super friendly and made sure to make sure we were comfortable. There is quite a bit of sun on the sites (as noted in the description) we had an awning on our car which was helpful, but be sure to bring a shade! Or you can always cool off in the creek. Sooooo refreshing. Definitely want to come back. :-)

Kelley and Pearl were both great. Pearl was stocked with everything you need, nice cookware, bed was comfy, property is beautiful, and so much to do nearby. Kelley shared some good recommendations for trails and maintains the camper very well. I definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing! My kids and I loved the mini-glamping tent #9. My 10 year old referred to it many times as “paradise”. We were also impressed with Greg and Katie. So warm and welcoming! We’re already planning our next trip.

What a magical place! Not only is the site very well kept and easy to use, but the swimming hole is perfect! Such an amazing place to spend some hot summer days. The mine was cool to explore (after a moderate, rocky hike) and site #2 had a tree which provided some welcome shade in the afternoon hours. Thanks for such a lovely stay!

This is one of the best Hipcamps I’ve ever experienced! Terry’s land is absolutely stunning—beautifully maintained with thoughtful structures that make the river easily accessible while preserving its natural beauty. We stayed at Site 3, which sits just above Sites 1 and 2 and the stairs to the main swimming hole. The river is crystal clear, and the area is landscaped in a way that complements the natural setting. The sites are fairly close together but spaced out enough to maintain privacy. We had our own water spigot at our site, which was a great bonus. The shared porta-potty was clean and well-maintained. The river area is large enough for everyone to enjoy, but if all campers are there at the same time, the flat spots with chairs can get a little crowded. It wasn’t a big deal as the other campers were friendly. This place is incredible!

There were no mosquitos in the area when we were there. Portapotty is a portapotty, but it was clean on the inside with toilet seat covers.

The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. you can’t hear highway noise while in the cabin and towards the back of the land. Snowy Peaks opened the gates for choose and cut Christmas trees in 1984. Since then, the property has had 3 owners: the Wilson’s, Armstrong's and now the Jones family who are continuing the tree farm legacy. Over the years we have HAND planted (yes hand planted) well over 30,000 trees to make up for every single tree we sell during the Christmas tree season. Welcome to Finnon Lake Recreation Area! Our lovely lake to discover. The night skies above Finnon Lake will reveal stars unseen in most parts of California. Enjoy searching for bullfrogs, and watch the flock of Canadian Geese fly in right at sunset as the horizon blends into the watercolor sky. This private lake supports the fire protection efforts of the Mosquito Fire Protection District and the firefighters of this community. Camp Nauvoo

Camp Nauvoo was originally bought by the LDS church in the 1960's for a girl's camp. The camp was owned by the Boy Scouts from 2011-2015. The Rose family bought the property in 2016 with the intent to continue the tradition of tent camping as well as creating opportunities for exclusive events i.e., group/family reunions, weddings and corporate events. We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM (please review). We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day. We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing sets, seesaw and tractor play. We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings). The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing. We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area. We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site. No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore. We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do not do checkins on Sunday but do allow camping over Sunday night. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes. We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash. CHECKIN IS BETWEEN 4 AND 8. There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork cosumnes river. We have 2 sleeping cabins and several tent sites (can be rented separately). The cabins offer a rustic/minimalist type vibe - bring your own bedding/pillows to sleep on the comfy futon. A table and chairs are provided for the cabins. Tent sites each have a wood table (bring your camp chairs) and a fire pit when the season is open for burning. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the cabins (litererally 200' away!). It is still as beautiful as ever but please know there are lots of slash piles. Falling trees and burned up stump holes are also a risk and it is presumed campers will be cautious and use at their own risk. We ask campers to use our property only for land use and river access, NO up or down river access is permitted AT ALL. Please don't hesitate to shoot us a message if you have any questions!

When you get to 1071, which is a house on the right side of the paved driveway, look for our Hipcamp sign in red, turn hard right into the orchard and follow the red arrows past a wood barn, and up to a small red shed. At this point you may camp in the meadow next to the shed or you may proceed to the next meadow over to the left (follow red arrows and look for umbrellas). We normally only have one site occupied per evening. Ocaisonally two sites will be occupied. The sites are very private and quiet as this is a large, private ranch. You can park close to your tent site. 2WD / 4WD access weather permitting. We offer 3 sites in a large meadow area. Max of 4 persons per site. RV's welcome but we do not have hookups. RV's will be parked next to our barns surrounded by pear orchards. Fresh drinking water is available in the tent meadow area. Hot showers are now available at $10 extra per nite per site.
