It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled
all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. You are also a 15-30 minute drive to explore the amenities of the local cities, wine country and 45 minutes to the beach. The 21 acre property provides amazing views as well as biking and hiking along the local fire and farm roads. We offer Camping supplies such as tents or chairs if needed for a small rental fee as well as the ability to purchase fresh avocados, citrus or Farm fresh eggs from the grove. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. This little farm is being brought back to life! Once part of an 160 acre avocado farm now it is a 15 acre little slice of heaven purchased in 2019. Previously the farm had been let go and now our duty is to get it back in shape. We are making steady progress and fall in love with the land more everyday. Currently we are also planting about an acre of lavender which should be a beautiful backdrop come 2024. Time up here gives you a chance to unwind, unplug, and explore some remaining wildlife in southern California.

The local area provides hiking, wildlife, mountain biking, lakes and 35 minutes to the nearest wine tasting in Temecula. We are an hour from the beach and roughly an hour and half to Skiing and Snowboarding at Mt. High. Minutes away from Santa Rosa Plateau for hiking. You are also a 15-30 minute drive to explore the amenities of the local cities, wine country and 45 minutes to the beach. The 21 acre property provides amazing views as well as biking and hiking along the local fire and farm roads. We offer Camping supplies such as tents or chairs if needed for a small rental fee as well as the ability to purchase fresh avocados, citrus or Farm fresh eggs from the grove. About the Host: Mary is a very conscientious host. She cares about her Hipcamper's experience. She checked in once a day but then gave you your space.
About the property: Pictures do not do it justice. This is a self-contained property (fully fenced area that feels separate from the rest of her property) that has everything you need for a great camp trip. Here is a list of things this property offers.
1. There is an outdoor shower with hot water.
2. Multiple electrical outlets.
3. A nice 3-section bathroom area with a composting toilet, a sink with running water, and a private changing area.
3. A large open patio with a sail shade overhead. The patio has a fire place, chairs, and a covered countertop bar with a working fridge and other appliances available for use.
4. Two cleared areas (lanes) for a couple of cars, or a trailer, or multiple tents.
5. Finally she has an open area just outside the fence that accommodates larger RV's (i.e. 5th wheel trailer). It's not ready just yet, but is in phase 2 of her plans for this Hipcamp.
All in all, I had a great experience at Mary's property. If you have a small group and would like to have a weekend getaway with all the essentials at your fingertips, this is the spot. And the best thing is the price. For everything you get, it is a totally reasonable price. I can't say enough good things about this Hipcamp. I know this sounds like a commercial for this place, but it really is a great spot for the price. See for yourself.

The Zen camp was a comfortable and spacious place to stay. The covered kitchen station with sink and mini fridge included counter space for food prep and stools for dining, with an electric outlet. We appreciated these conveniences and extras like the outdoor hot shower and fresh herbs available to use from Mary's garden. The space was well lit throughout and furnished with plenty of chairs, tables and a hammock. A canopy provided much-needed shade. Mary was a great host and was always available to answer questions or resolve any issues that came up.

This is a great spot tucked away up in the hills. There is a lot of room to spread out the camp sites and set up different activities. It had everything we needed for a group camping trip. You can’t beat the views from the deck overlooking the lake/city. Caleb is an awesome and friendly host, very accommodating for our trip. Make sure to maintain a little speed going up the dirt hill.

Went tent-camping. It was beautiful and secluded, surrounded by native plants and a lot of local wildlife, great escape from the city. Stars were great. Some sites are in full sun and some are well-shaded. Hot showers and clean flushing toilets. NOTE: we had a 4WD truck and the North De Luz route was fun (rough but no airing down needed), but if you have a 2WD sedan, take the South De Luz route.

I enjoyed my stay here very much! As others mentioned the sites are close together but just like other beach towns you put as many spots in as you can when you have views like this. I loved the landscaping. It was jaw dropping. The store had a great selection and the music on the weekend was a great plus. This is place is worth every penny.

What a hidden gem! This really is one of the most spectacular Hipcamp properties I’ve ever stayed it. Mary was extremely accommodating and communicative and she has truly created a magical place!
The property has a hot shower on site along with a compost toilet, running water, power outlets, fridge, propane grill, fire pit, fireplace, and hammock— not to mention a cozy tear drop camper available at a reasonable fee!
My dog and I felt safe and comfortable, as the Zen Ranch is fully fenced in and cell service worked. WiFi is available, too!
This is the perfect spot to have a weekend getaway or to even host a small retreat. Will definitely be back again!!!!

Extraordinary. More than I’d hoped for to be honest. Hookups for power and water are amazing to have at each site - beyond that the gift shop has actual good stuff like a mini sprouts grocery! and laundry on site is a HUGE bonus. The ocean access right across the road is amazing. And the nonstop sound of the ocean at the campsite is just divine. I extended my stay to be here for ten days and I’ll definitely be back again next spring. The road cycling out the door is world class and the hiking right next door on solstice canyon is magical. I can’t rave about this spot enough.
