After a week in the bustle of Carmel and Carmel Valley we needed a quiet place to stay going north. A three plus hour drive to the ranch was enough. Having a perfect place to camp by ourselves and not having to deal with anyone was ideal. A few cows came up the fence and checked us out. The night was dark and very quiet and being treated as a capable adults and taking care of ourselves was ideal. Will definitely stay there again.

We always wonder why we would pay more than twice what others sites charge for very few amenities compared to the others. And it comes down to peace and quiet. No car noise. No boom boom music. The smell of the grass. The proximity to coastal and inland towns to explore. And the cooler weather. So while it's clearly the most expensive HipCamp we have ever splurged on (and we've been to a lot), we will likely continue to come back here and there.
Just wish there was a porta potty at the site vs the trek down the hill. You really have to plan ahead for the walk.

Perfect spot for a quick mid-week overnighter. I had the grove all to myself and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was quite windy during my stay, so I had to park outside of the grove proper to avoid any falling branches. Was still pretty to be around. The washroom facilities are a far walk from the site, with that I'd say this site is best for fully self contained campers.
