We can accommodate tent campers or car campers. Each campsite fits 4-6 people. The price is $40/per person. Kids under 12 are free. Most campsites are accessible by car and all campsites are accessible by foot. PLEASE NOTE, we do not have a traditional check in procedure. Campsites are first come first serve. Expect a "self-check in process" most of the time. However, there are sometimes people working onsite that you may run into, that are happy to help and lead you in the right direction. You choose your own campsite so plan to arrive early. You can park and walk around. There is signage that says "CAMP" with Arrows. BYO water. We have sulfur spring water. Great for your skin, not good to drink! There's a couple outhouses on the property. One in the main camp zone, one at the far north end of the lower Redwood campsite. You can also bring a shovel and take a walk if you're in the more remote campsites. We have a dumpster outside the gate for your garbage. IMPORTANT INFO Please don't mind our farm junk/tools as you enterGate 1! We are slowly working on clean up and relocation of materials from the entry road and away from view. Before you arrive, have knowledge of poison oak because it is a native plant. The main photos in the listing are taken from Hipcamp Scouts back in 2018 and they are featuring our Original campsite. This is located past the mineral baths. It's the furthest one to reach, and accessible by foot. SULFUR MINERAL BATHS Include in your experience the use of our sulfur mineral baths. It's $10 per person. PLEASE BOOK THIS AS AN EXTRA AT CHECKOUT. The mineral baths are 2 funky vintage clawfoot tubs that are pictured in the actual listing.The photos show an accurate description of the Mineral Baths. They are not located in the main camp zone. It's primitive camping on a private property with bonuses like the garden, rustic baths, and beautiful nature. This property has been a working farm for decades, which has struggled with hard times. If farm yards/junk piles make you uncomfortable or give you a creepy feeling, don't book because our boneyard is adjacent to the entry road and it can't be ignored. Broken Branch Creek is a new family farm in Paso Robles, CA. Our land is abundant with with blue oaks and local wildlife. There is a creek bed, usually dry most of the year, that provides excellent rock hunting and shady areas with overhanging oaks. We have grazing cattle fenced off from the camping areas and farm so you may see or hear them during your stay. The entrance to the camping area is a very wide oil pipe fenced driveway off Branch Road, designed to accommodate farm equipment and cattle trailers. Sometimes map apps say you've arrived at one of the separate residential driveways on the property. Please keep looking for the commercial sized entrance. We are a 15 minute drive to the restaurants and shopping in downtown Paso Robles, 8 minutes to the Vina Robles Amphitheater, 6 minutes to the Hunter Ranch Golf Course, and 5 min to the Sensorio Art Exhibit. We're just off the Union Road Wine Trail among the Back Roads Wineries of Paso Robles. Please be aware we cannot accept longer than 7 day bookings.

Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Sheer cliffs attest to area being underwater, long ago. Galaxies overhead at night are awesome and free from light pollution. Thus, great stargazing! Cattle and forage hay ranch, but cattle could be anywhere on the property. Absolutely no open fires. We are part of an Agricultural Conservancy. We do offer ranch tours at various times of the year. You may request a tour for an additional charge, when available. You'll have a 360 degree view overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountain Range as far as you can see to the West and the Sierra Nevada Range, as far as you can see to the East. We are conveniently located about 15 minutes off Hwy 101, to the North of San Miguel, and offer a private place to relax and rest overnight on your way to or from your other destinations. It is quiet! Occasionally, coyotes howl at night or our two handsome Angus bulls bellow, or a wild boar family grunts as they head from one location to another, usually with an entourage of piglets... just passing through. They are all part of the local country in California and add to the beauty, if you're fortunate enough to hear them from afar. The boar migrate and may not be around for weeks, as they have traveled elsewhere. You may miss all night sounds except the breeze, as most nights are completely silent. It's a rejuvenating experience! Please ask if interested in local day trips or points of interest, and we will try to accommodate you. We will suggest local activities. Lakes Nacimiento, San Antonio and Santa Margarita are an easy distance. All three are quite different from one another. Wine and Beer get a lot of press and rightly so, but there are other relaxing and inspiring activities for all, available when you are here! Each community has a city or town park, so you can enjoy relaxing or playing with your children on hot days, under tall, well-established trees. Everyone needs time to exercise, especially children! Camp Roberts, just North of Paso Robles, has two military museums to visit and the West Garrison is just over the 101 to the West of us! My boyfriend, small dog and I stayed for a night. We wanted something inexpensive where we could drive right up to the site, had someone on site because we had never been to the area and were getting in after sunset, and was in a wooded rural surrounding. The hosts were extremely friendly and hospitable. One of them met us at the entrance & took us around the property to explain the different site options (we were the only ones there! There were 8 different sites - all fairly close to each other, but I could tell that if multiple were full - you’d still have your own private space.) They brought us firewood and helped us set up our fire! I saw some negative reviews about the junk yard … which I’m confused about?! I thought it was super cool. It’s not anywhere near where you actually camp… it’s right when you pull onto the land and then you drive probably half a mile into the woods. It was cool to see all the stuff they have collected. From airstreams, to big CATS, cars, etc. Yea, can look a little eerie at first, but it’s apart of the experience. good place to stop and camp for a night when you are in between your trip. It’s super close to the town of Cambria - which has a ton of little restaurants, bars, etc. tons of farm animals surrounding. One of the guys who lives on site there, Rob, has starlink at his house and allows you to connect to it! Thanks Guys, you made us feel very safe. 👍

This camping area was perfect for our needs. Simple sites with picnic tables near beautiful old oak trees. Very friendly, low-key hosts with great communication. Super convenient location, especially for access to Vina Robles. Would definitely stay there again.

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of days mid-week, and it was divine. We hiked up the creek and took a little dip, visited the old mines, soaked in the mineral baths, and enjoyed the serene nature. The people who live on the property are also incredibly friendly and helpful. Such good energy! We will definitely be coming back!

My daughter and I stayed one night while on a road trip up the 101. It was super cute and everyone was so friendly. It's a working farm so even though there was no one to greet us when we arrived the signs direct you where to go and we got set up no problem. It's maintained but more wild, rustic nature, definitely not a glamping situation, just a heads up if that's not your style-we're used to backcountry and primitive camping so were self contained and prepared but there was running water and even a flush toilet in the outhouse. While we were exploring everyone we came across stopped to chat and were all very welcoming. I forget his name (Rob or Bob maybe?) but the gentleman who lives in the cabin closest to the campsites was so nice, he showed us where a cool hike was that went to a stream and swimspot and even gave us plums straight from the tree by where we were camped! It's an easy drive not too far from the town of Cambria so you can enjoy the beach all day then head out to camp under the trees. Would definitely return.

Also, the guy (I forgot his name) that lives close to the camp sites was very friendly, welcoming and helpful! He even gave us local grown cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, and much more! Rob, the caretaker was so kind and generous with our kids, showing them the farm and explaining all the ins and outs. It’s a hidden gem, quiet and peaceful, 20 minutes from the gorgeous beaches and town of Cambria. There’s so much to enjoy here on the central coast. We came with 6 kids. It’s also great for adults only. The campsites are spread apart and the grounds are shady, quiet and great for healing from the sounds and pace of the city.

As they say in their listing, it’s definitely not glamping. You drive past numerous old cars and construction equipment on the way in. Even a boat. All of them in various stages of decay. However the actual campsites are shaded and good sized, with nice fire rings. I was pleasantly surprised to find a flush toilet instead of a pit. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. In the evening one came by with boxes of fruits and vegetables that hadn’t sold that day in their roadside stand. He said take what you want. Nice! Then I found out they have Starlink internet. Awesome, since the property is out of cell phone range. There is a shower and two tubs, but you need to be comfortable with public nudity to use them as they are out in the open.

Beautiful setting, greeted by deer on drive in. Off the beaten path, but close to town. Enjoyed a peaceful night of sleep with the croaking sound of frogs (and not coincidentally, a lack of mosquitoes). Some of the dirt roads in are a bit narrow, but easy to spread out and find a spot to call your own once at the main site. Would camp here again!

1 night at BIG VALLEY OPEN SKY - Central Coast

If you're thinking about booking this spot- do it. I stayed on this massive plot of land that felt like a peaceful world of its own. The moment I arrived, I could feel the quiet, open beauty wrap around me. I came during the peak of the meteor shower and let me tell you: zero regrets. The night sky was wide and clear, completely unobstructed, and I laid back just watching streak after streak of light dash across the stars. Pure magic. Pro tip: make sure you arrive bright and early so you can soak up the sun across this stunning land. The morning light rolls in golden and soft, lighting up the open fields and trees in the distance. I brought coffee and just sat outside watching it all happen- total serenity. There's a special energy to this place. It's peaceful, grounding, and feels like the kind of land that remembers stories. Bring a blanket, a good playlist, and give yourself time to really settle in. Whether you're there for the stars, the sunrise, or just the soul rest, this place delivers. Will absolutely be back!!!
