Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

My dad bought the farm in 1974 and it used to be a working dairy and sheep farm. My dad passed away while cutting our 6 acre oat field on mothers day 2003, our little farm started to break down. We have been working on it to bring it back to life and I hope to have it up and running strong again. Sadly I just lost my mother on Aug 6th and my father Aug 13th. Alot of loss but hopefully i can have a garden soon to offer more options for our guests. Learn more about this land: Our farm is 3miles west of town within 10 miles to Black Butte lake for fishing, boating, hiking, and even disk golf. Right off of I-5 by a Pilot travel center. 4496 county road DD and also shows as Orange grove ave on some GPS maps. Public pool 3miles(1pm-5pm, water arobics Tue and Thur 6-7pm $2, family night Tue and Thur 730-9pm June-Aug) as well as shopping and dining within 3miles. Great sunset and area to roam for a bike ride or walk in the country in our little hick town with only about 8000 population. It is very likely you will hear animals so if your a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Chickens crow and roam, cows bellow from all sides, and dogs bark and welcome guests. No trespassing signs are for hunters and people that DO NOT have permission to be here. Driveway is rough and we are working on getting it fixed asap so please take your time coming up. There is FIELD roaches you may see soon after we irrigate, they are bigger then the nasty cockroach but harmless. The wind can be rough at times up here on our lil hill so be prepared with extra rope to tie down and secure if your in a tent, also park vehicle to help block from wind and driveway. It does get up into the high 100°s here during the summer so it would be good to have shade or plan to keep cool during the hottest parts of the day. The toilet is a outhouse with solar lights and does not flush, there is shavings to drop when done. Longer stays are best done at sites 4 and 5 further from the driveway. Quick stops just to sleep are best at 1 and 2. Rainy weather only sites 5, 6 and 1 are usable sadly.

Our property is lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! In summer there is a 3-night minimum for the cabin and dome. Occasionally a two day midweek will pop up on the schedule last minute. To see correct pricing, enter your dates as they can fluctuate with holidays, weekends. Prices are decreased midweek. We have 3 accommodations on the property -A GUEST SUITE (lakeside), up to 5 people. -A CABIN (15 min walk or 3 min drive/5 min walk, up to 4 people. -A GLAMPING DOME with an additional teepee tent site (lakeside)! We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years. There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence. The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north. While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking *The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV. Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

My dad bought the farm in 1974 and it used to be a working dairy and sheep farm. My dad passed away while cutting our 6 acre oat field on mothers day 2003, our little farm started to break down. We have been working on it to bring it back to life and I hope to have it up and running strong again. Sadly I just lost my mother on Aug 6th and my father Aug 13th. Alot of loss but hopefully i can have a garden soon to offer more options for our guests. Learn more about this land: Our farm is 3miles west of town within 10 miles to Black Butte lake for fishing, boating, hiking, and even disk golf. Right off of I-5 by a Pilot travel center. 4496 county road DD and also shows as Orange grove ave on some GPS maps. Public pool 3miles(1pm-5pm, water arobics Tue and Thur 6-7pm $2, family night Tue and Thur 730-9pm June-Aug) as well as shopping and dining within 3miles. Great sunset and area to roam for a bike ride or walk in the country in our little hick town with only about 8000 population. It is very likely you will hear animals so if your a light sleeper you may want ear plugs. Chickens crow and roam, cows bellow from all sides, and dogs bark and welcome guests. No trespassing signs are for hunters and people that DO NOT have permission to be here. Driveway is rough and we are working on getting it fixed asap so please take your time coming up. There is FIELD roaches you may see soon after we irrigate, they are bigger then the nasty cockroach but harmless. The wind can be rough at times up here on our lil hill so be prepared with extra rope to tie down and secure if your in a tent, also park vehicle to help block from wind and driveway. It does get up into the high 100°s here during the summer so it would be good to have shade or plan to keep cool during the hottest parts of the day. The toilet is a outhouse with solar lights and does not flush, there is shavings to drop when done. Longer stays are best done at sites 4 and 5 further from the driveway. Quick stops just to sleep are best at 1 and 2. Rainy weather only sites 5, 6 and 1 are usable sadly.

There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There are 2 Indian Casinos & Hotels in Oroville, as well as 2 golf ranges - and all with in 20 minutes of the camp site. The college town of Chico is about 30 minutes outside of Oroville. We are closed for the winter with the exception for self-Contained RV's. Mesg me if you want a reservation FYI: We are a 15-acre lake and experience seasonal lows towards the end of the summer. I cannot predict what the lake condition will be in. Camp Watanda is a retired resident camp that we have converted to a vacation rental. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 camping kiosks close to the waterfront and 1 RV site on the waterfront and 1 tent site. The camping kiosk all have 8-10 mattresses, grilling table, picnic table, cooler, smoke alarms, rake, broom and fire extinguishers. We are pet friendly with 1 dog per kiosk. Tents can be pitched on the elevated decks. Our waterfront has a large fire ring, 2-covered pergolas, canoes, kayaks, life jackets and charcoal grill. Lots of fish in the lake, since this is a private lake, no license is required. There is also a bathhouse (very primitive and in serious need of remodel) close by with 3 showers, 3 toilets and 3 sinks. Up by the lodge is a cell phone charging station and Wi-Fi with Starlink connection. No dispersed camping. RV CAMPING: Because of the steep driveway and blind curve, we limit the vehicle length to 25 overall length. Our driveway is more suitable for RV's and Camper Vans and not Travel Trailers being towed. If you rent a kiosk, all campers must be on the same kiosk unless you rent a second kiosk. If you have a camping van and plan on using the van and the kiosk, then that is a second site. You cannot tailgate on a reservation just because the party only has 2 people on the kiosk, and you have 2 in the Van to make 4 people. These are tents sites on a Kiosk, there is parking for cars or trucks at the kiosk, not suitable for RV or Travel Trailers. Those vehicles will have to park at the waterfront parking lot. There are no refunds for cancellations within 72 hours of arrival. We reserve the right to adjust kiosk assignments at our discretion. NO SHOWS forfeit their site. Camp Watanda is private property, campers assume all liability for being on site. There is no lifeguard present. This is a natural habitat for woodland animals, there is an associated risk for camping in their home. Slips, trips and falls can occur on trails, camping structures and waterfront.

This particular property has been in the family for four generations now. It was in the past a producing walnut orchard that is now past its prime. The orchard is now home to a couple of horses and few wild turkeys. The property location is great for anyone traveling up or down Interstate 5 as we are located about two miles east of the interstate. The Sacramento River is five miles to the east and the Rolling Hills Casino is not too far away. The city of Chico is about 20 minutes away to the south and Lassen National Park and Shasta Lake are not too far north of the property. The site is perfectly located for numerous day long adventures. Camp cooking has never been easier, as the community kitchen is well equipped with 2 full-sized refrigerators, gas stove/oven, pots and pans, dishware, silverware, triple sink, and two outdoor barbeques. The cooks will especially appreciate our unique outdoor “dishwashing station” for each individual (even kids!) to efficiently wash their own dishes instead of using throw-away plastic for each meal. Our bathhouse has two private toilets, two private showers with hot water and a double sink. Bring your own towels and toiletries. Rolled in just as the sun was setting, it was gorgeous. The space was so green, surprising for late fall, and my dogs loved the pup greetings! Easy to find, not far from the freeway, very clean set up, and perfectly quiet, aside from the occasional rooster crowing.

Also i personally did not appreciate the neighbors dog roaming around but im not a dog person so there’s that, and it’s not like they can do anything about it anyway. Overall nice stay and nice hosts

We loved staying on the farm with all of the rescued animals. We even got to feed them. Our kids loved petting the animals and spending time on the farm. Host Shanna was very welcoming and kind. She even provided us firewood and helped with some electrical issues with our RV. Beautiful sanctuary farm away from the hustle and bustle! We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future :)

Weekend Trip to Maple Creek Ranch
My family and I had the best time camping at Maple Creek Ranch. We stayed at Site 2, which was privately nestled among the trees—clean, flat, and perfectly peaceful. The site included a deep firepit and a sturdy picnic table, making it easy to relax and cook meals together. The amenities were fantastic. There was a spotless outhouse just about a hundred feet away (with a flushing toilet!), and a hot shower next to the pond. The pond itself was stocked with bluegill and bass, and my family caught their first-ever fish there—an unforgettable memory! But the highlight of our stay was Ron, the host. He’s an absolute gem—so kind, genuine, and full of great stories. He brought us firewood and water and when my car battery died on our last day, he didn’t hesitate to drive over with his truck and give me a jump. His hospitality truly made our trip special. We’ll absolutely be coming back and can’t recommend Maple Creek Ranch enough to anyone visiting the Cohasset/Chico area!

From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was special. The sweeping views and gentle quiet made it feel like a hidden retreat, yet it’s only about 11 minutes from the charming streets of Nevada City. Our hosts, Chris and Rebecca, were warm, welcoming, and attentive. Saturday morning, our car key’s remote battery unexpectedly died. Instead of having to call an Uber or drive into town for a replacement, they cheerfully produced a spare battery—turning what could have been a stressful moment into a reminder of their thoughtful hospitality. It’s rare to find a spot that combines natural beauty, convenience, and hosts who genuinely care, but this place has all three. We left feeling relaxed, grateful, and their thoughtfulness truly made our experience even better. Highly recommended!

Nice and quiet spot with everything you might need provided. The neighbors dog Abby greeted us every day and she was a sweetheart. The teepee was decked out in a comfy World Market boho vibe and even had a mini fridge. Oh and the sheets were the softest. Nice bathroom not far from the sight. If you are cooking at night by the bathroom, it's a bit dark. Just turn on the bathroom light and pull back the curtain, that will help. The teepee did have a smokey smell due to the fires inside, but I am sensitive to that kind of thing. Overall loved the place and would camp here again.

A hot spot in the Gold Rush, our property once was a 1850 homestead, a 1970 back to the land artist's dream. You'll start your slowed-down adventure as soon as you drive 3 miles down Jackass Flats road, through historic mining areas and into a literary 'hood that has homed Gary Snyder, Allen Ginsberg and Governor Moonbeam.

It is on this property that I saw my first grouse. Also look for warblers-notably Audubon's and the Hermit Warblers- along with the White-headed Woodpecker. You will likely hear a Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see one Learn more about this land: Welcome to Sugarpine Slopes. The Sugarpine has the longest cones in the world and many birds and mammals like the pine nuts and use the tree for habitat. This is a spring through fall place only. There is no winter access. The property is at 5800 feet.  Depending on the weather the road may close from Nov 15th to May 15th.  The road on the property is a dirt road.  All wheel drive or 4WD vehicles recommended although the lower section could be accessed by most vehicles. Shorter trailers allowed at Site A. Site 3 can also accommodate a small teardrop-style trailer The property is totally undeveloped at this time. It is a wildlife corridor for deer and bear (keep all food contained), the mountain quail and the blue grouse. Keep your eyes open for the Hermit Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, and our gorgeous visitor from the tropics the Western Tanager. You are likely to hear the Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see it and its red crest in an undulating flight through the trees. The property has a lovely west facing slope which climbs gradually at first then more steeply to the top of the property. We have drive-in camping on the lower section.  There is one walk-in site at the top of the property. There is wonderful hiking nearby with several trailheads in the area within approximately 4 miles.  More information can be provided upon request.

The neighborhood of this area is also one of the more safer bike friendlier places, you can ride into town along the NID trails, or set up camp and head up the 20HWY less than 20 mins to enjoy Epic Mountain Biking Trails. Not only are we crafty, but also nature enthusiasts to feel free to reach out and ask about fun things to do here, if you are looking to stay busy exploring the nature. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. We are in a very Rural Area and it can be difficult to see a night where to park and camp. It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

Sorry, but due to the always present fire danger, no wood burning fires are allowed. You may use your own propane fire ring or propane or charcoal grill. We have clean laundry and showers and flush toilets on the north side of the park. There is one shower and one flush toilet for each men and women that are handicapped accessible. Showers cost $1 for 12 minutes of hot water. Cell phone service is spotty. AT&T/Cricket and sometimes Verizon work the best. We now have free Wi-Fi in the park! Quail Ridge RV Park is very pet friendly, and we have a beautiful new dog park for our 4-footed friends. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. We are excited to share our beautiful retreat with you! We set up this glamping experience to share the beauty and tranquility of our property. Your stay here will be the perfect escape to Nevada City and the magic of the Yuba River. The property is located in the Blue Tent region of Nevada City. The region is a historic 19th century gold mining community that lies on a gold-bearing channel of an ancient river bed. Blue Tent was established in 1850 and named after its first dwelling, a tent made of blue denim. The community thrived, becoming a center for hydraulic mining. Before long, it had its own store, dance hall, blacksmith shop, boarding house and other buildings. Like the other communities in the region that depended on hydraulic mining, Blue Tent began to decline following the 1884 Sawyer decision. A farmer near Sacramento had sued the major mining company in state court to stop it from discharging mining debris into the Yuba River. This debris was destroying farmland downstream. THE PROPERTY The property is a largely flat and walkable 5 acres to camp and explore. We are 15 mins from downtown Nevada City and 7 minutes to Edwards Crossing on the Yuba River which is a great swimming spot. There are also many other great river and hike locations nearby. The location is close enough to be convenient but feels entirely secluded once you arrive. Our house and shop are on the property so we are typically around. THE TENT The tent itself is a large canvas bell tent. It is 16 feet in diameter and has a high ceiling so you can stand up and have plenty of space inside. We have a pillow top queen size bed in the tent with sheets, pillows and a down comforter. There are a few pieces of furniture including a vintage dresser, chair and a bedside table. We also have included some battery powered candles to create a relaxed low light environment if needed. THE CAMPSITE The campsite consists of the tent itself, a fire pit, some camping chairs and a picnic table. BATHROOM Full bathroom in the house which is a short walk from the tent. (see photos) The house is up a small hill and far enough away that you are completely private. Access to the bathroom is through the front door of the house and the bathroom is on the main floor near the entrance. The bathroom has a shower/bath, toilet and sink with shampoo and soap, towels, etc.  INCLUDED CAMPING AMENITIES We provide most everything you need to enjoy your trip. Just bring ice for the cooler and any food you wish! We strictly adhere to local recommendations and Red Flag Warnings in the area. During the red flag, there is no use of outdoor fire pits, indoor wood-burning stoves, any type of open flame, fireworks, or smoking of any kind allowed on the property. We reserve the right to ban fires at any time as conditions change. PARKING Up to two vehicles may be parked at the campsite. OTHER DETAILS Our location does not have infrastructure for wifi at this time - use this getaway to reconnect with yourself, each other, and the natural world! Cell service is limited on the property; most people have no service at the campsite. We do have good service at the house which will allow for calls and texts as well as data. The water comes from our personal well and is potable. The well is tested annually.
