We had a nice time here. The campsite was good, although not super level, but we made it work. We anppreciated the tables and fire pits. Our host was accommodating and nice. Our kids had fun exploring the land and the creek.

nice host, he developed a nice campground , the creek was a fun place to relax , overall I think it was good. also there is a water spigot at the campground which makes it easy to wash dishes, and also a bathroom, so easy to go when you need to. I heard peacocks and roosters and saw some owls at night , so there are a few wild animal noises, if you enjoy that sort of thing. Currently it is wildfire season in September, so no open fires , but we did cook with a propane grill , so we were happy and got to eat our smores , if you are looking for a quick getaway , this could be it.

We had the most incredible time at Jerry’s property, Sunset Villa! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had discovered a hidden gem. The setting is absolutely magical – wild peacocks and roosters roam freely, adding so much charm and character to the experience. The highlight for us was definitely the mountain-fed creek, which was refreshing, peaceful, and the perfect spot to relax and reconnect with nature.
Jerry is a wonderful host who clearly puts a lot of care into maintaining the property, and it shows in every detail. If you’re looking for a camping spot that feels both adventurous and serene, this is it.
One tip: bring water shoes! The creek is amazing to explore, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more with the right footwear.
We can’t recommend Sunset Villa enough – it’s an unforgettable escape, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

I LOVED this spot. It was private and somewhat quiet. There are roosters and peacocks on the land and in the area, but their noise was very relaxing all day long. I brought my furry boys with me, although my big boy was very vocal about me being too far from him at times, there were other dogs in the area being vocal themselves, so it felt like home in a way.
Jerry was very nice. He dropped by to make sure everything was alright and pointed out all the accommodations and understood the anxiety my dog projected when he was there. I felt embarrassed, but Jerry assured my it was A OK
If there is a time I need to get away and be alone with my boys, I really hope to come back.

Stayed one night with my husband & friends, it was a lovely sight, very clean, the owner came out to meet us when we arrived. Lots of cool little critters to see throughout the day, the wild peacocks were fun to see! 100% would recommend this site & would come back!

First off, we had an amazing time staying on Jerry's property and he definitely earned the 5 star rating.
However, we ran into an issue that I have not seen stated anywhere else, and this isn't at the fault of Jerry. At about 5am we were awoken by the sound of at least 3, maybe 5, different roosters all crowing at each other, for 3 straight hours, nonstop. This isn't a hypobole, we were lucky to get 10 seconds of silence in-between crowing, they were very persistent, and very loud. It was not something we could sleep through. Their crowing would also attract peacocks and dogs to join in as well. I don't know if they aren't usually there or what but it was impossible to sleep, I had earplugs that didn't help and my fiance tried to sleep in the car but I'm not kidding when I say 3 straight hours of constant, loud, crowing. Had we planned to get up to see the sunrise this would not have been an issue, but we stayed up late completely unaware to what was to come. And once again, this isn't anyone's fault, but I feel that it needs to be disclosed.
Everything else about the stay was great, the views were great, the sunset was great, the stars were great, the bathroom was doable, easy access to water, plenty of places to sit or eat, campfire was nice, plenty of space and it also felt private. Jerry was incredibly nice and even gave me a jump when my car battery died, he went above and beyond and I highly recommend.

My husband, our dogs and I loved this spot. It was a perfect escape from the city and the dogs absolutely loved the freedom. Jerry was absolutely amazing and very very considerate. He had water hooked up directly to the site, a fire extinguisher, tables, chairs, and a cute creek! When we arrived he came to introduce himself and gave us the lay of the land. He was very clear with camp fire instructions and how to be safe with it! We will definitely be coming back to this site. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you for being amazing Jerry!

Overall, we had a good experience.
The good:
The host Jerry is super friendly and nice, shout out to Jerry! He helped us remove a tick we got and he made that easy, thank you bro. The view from the campsite is pretty, and it really does have a great sunset. Parking is easy, it’s close to town, and it was mostly relaxing. Also there are lots of peacocks, which were really fun!
The bad:
We are sensitive to barking dogs, and from about 8pm until 10pm or so on Saturday night there was super loud, sustained barking from a number of dogs in several directions. We know this is totally outside of Jerry’s control and we’re probably more sensitive than others, but wanted to give a heads up to others that may be sensitive, too.

Jerry was an incredible host! Even met us at night when we arrived a bit late in the day. He was very friendly, accommodating and so nice to talk to! He had very neat stories to listen to. Jerry’s land is also incredibly beautiful. He also made sure we had good directions to get to his home and he also told us about amazing hiking spots near by! I would 100% recommend his property and Jerry as a host!

Loved the area. Host was vert nice and supplied us firewood and water. There's a nice picnic table and chairs. On a slight slope but wasn't too bad. There's a party potty which was also very clean. A great spot for your dogs.

My first impression of Jerry’s Hipcamp was how well-maintained the entire property was. The two outhouses, one conveniently located next to the site and another before the trail to the creek, were exceptionally clean. The creek itself was an unexpected bonus, adding to the charm of the location. The site had everything we needed, and the woodchips on the ground made a significant difference. Jerry was also incredibly responsive, ensuring we had everything for a comfortable stay.

Jerry is a great host. Friendly and accommodating. We visited on a hot weekend. Appreciated the shade coverings and water piped directly to the campsite. We sat on the deck he built with our feet in a bucket of water until it cooled down! Not too many bugs at night and best of all, a campfire to cook out dinner. Thank you Jerry!

The land owner was amazing… came to greet us upon arrival and saw us out… The camp site had a porta potty that was exceptionally clean and a garbage can right near the campsite… made things very convenient!
The sunset 🌅 was absolutely beautiful!!
It’s peaceful and the owner is vigilant about your privacy! You’re far enough away from everything to be camping 🏕️ in peace, but you can still drive to get ice or anything else within 30 minutes or so! So great, we’ll be back to stay!

I loved tent camping on Jerry’s land! The trees provided ample shade to keep cool during the day, and it was very easy to find + set up. Jerry’s is great and provided all the basic essentials (port-a-potty), fire pit, running water, kindling, table and chairs, and a gorgeous little patio to watch the sunset. Wifi was a bit weaker for me on verizon, but could still stream and work easily. Loading new sites was a bit tough. But Jerry mentioned At&t signal was very strong, and it was more than good enough for me. My pup and I truly enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. 😊🙌

Great spot close to Yuba River for overnight camping for small group. Host provided a saw to cut firewood from the trees, but there were plenty of dry sticks on the ground for our bonfire.

Jerry is very gracious host. He explained where and how the amenities work. The spot has 2 places to set campfires and seating area. The space is ample for setting up your tent ⛺️. The viewing deck facing the west is perfect for watching the sunset and star gazing at night. My nephew and I had a blast hanging out, relaxing listening to music while enjoying drinks as well as roasting hotdogs on the campfire 🔥. We stayed overnight and enjoyed connecting with nature and experiencing the beauty of the universe. Thanks Jerry!

Jerry’s tent site was perfect. The directions were clear and communication good. I set up in the late afternoon then left and returned very late with no issue. There is a road by the site that worried me when I arrived but it was not an issue at night. I am a solo traveller and felt very safe. The main reason I wanted to try his place was to have dark skies for star gazing. It did not disappoint! Will definitely return.

Beautiful views. Only site means you get privacy and the host was both welcoming and responsive when needed. Enjoyed seeing a herd of deer and other animals while walking around. Great view of the stars at night!

There's a fire pit with a lid, as well as a roasting stick! Very convenient. Nice spot overall.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Jerry's Sunset Villa! Properly named for its beautiful sunsets, they're a must see! We enjoyed the balcony overlooking the scenic canyon as we woke up with our coffee. Lots of birds serenaded us with their songs in the morning and the Stars blanketed our view at night. It was nice to have running water at the campsite as well. When I look for places to enjoy on hip camp I always shop price and this one fit the budget and was worth every penny. Thank you for the peace and quiet Jerry, we'll see you next time!
