They may bark when unfamiliar vehicles arrive, but they’re good with both people and other animals. Once they’ve had a chance to get familiar, they settle down quickly and usually go about their day. For everyone’s comfort, they’re brought indoors at night. Potable water is available on site for your convenience. We kindly ask that all guests remain fully self-contained throughout their stay, meaning you’ll need to use your own toilet and shower facilities. You will need to come up a windy country road to get to us but it will be well worth it. Learn more about this land: Welcome to our Above the Clouds RV spot, tucked away in between Napa and Sonoma Valleys - right in the middle of wine country! This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best wineries in California! About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! Think: toilet paper, cookware, bathing suits if you like, etc. - We do not have wifi available on site and cell reception is spotty, especially for certain carriers. Please prepare accordingly for your travels and your stay. - There is a fire ban in effect, so please no campfires, but we do allow you to use a propane fire pit if you bring it yourself. - We welcome your pets! Our property boasts year round creeks, waterfalls, swimming holes, Madrones, Oaks, Douglas firs and manzanitas. Wild horses roam the land as well as the occasional mountain lion and black bear. On the human end we have an ancient walnut grove as well as many fruit trees two small ponds all in total privacy at the very end of the road. We also have a Sauna and outdoor bathtub and shower available for use. We are out a 9 mile dirt road and a 4X4 or all wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended. For lake fishing, Redbud Park, Highlands Park and Austin Park are all within a ten minute drive from Camp. Austin Park also has a playground and swimming beach. Welcome to Calistoga! We invite you to stay on our family's land, 10 minutes outside of town. The Camp is named after the ridge in sight on the far north end of the property - the Whaleback. You can hike the fire trails to get there, or chill at your camp, relax... There are 3 options: Shaded Oak ($49) quiet, private, for vans, small trailer or tent; has propane fire pit Married Manzanitas ($49) is a very large, privately wooded site that is walk-in or requires 4wd/ground clearance (drive in at your own risk, or park and walk in), tent only, or also offers an optional Cabin for +$30 per night ($79) Coral Cabin on the hilltop ($109/night, + $30 cleaning fee) is closest to the civilized amenities, electricity, wifi etc and has a TV with roku. Your toilet and shower are still outside, but this is the closest to a hotel experience with clean sheets ready on your arrival. Cabin has AC for hot summer days, and a private deck with dinner bar around back. All sites have access to the hilltop Recharge Station, recently cleaned up! Recharge Station has an outdoor shower, two bathtubs, tables and chairs, and a large stainless steel countertop with sink. If multiple sites are occupied, Coral Cabin has priority for use of facilities before 9am and after 5pm. Shaded Oak and Married Manzanitas guests can use the facilities between 9am-5pm, being mindful of each other's privacy and/or coordinating shower times. Each site has its own compost toilet, and Married Manzanitas has its own ambient-temperature shower. As much as possible, guests should use the toilet in their own sites. Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Great mostly-level site that backs right up to the cliffs into the ocean. Incredible views, perfect for opening your back doors and laying in bed. Picnic table and fire pit at the site. Sites are close together but the vibe of the place is inclusive and positive. The host is fantastic. She has WiFi, firewood, and shore electricity for purchase with cash or Venmo. She also gave us a great dog-friendly hiking recommendation at Stillwater Cove just a mile up the 1. The beach is a cool place to watch the tide come in.

We had such a wonderful time at Bluff 10 at Timber Cove this weekend! We wanted to watch the birds, the seals, and the waves and read our books while we celebrated Mom's 80th birthday, and this was the perfect spot. People were so friendly and laid back, and we got to see a lot of fisherpeople launching their kayaks from the private beach. Brenda was so helpful and engaged and she took very good care of us. She even brought us super glue AND fresh herbs from her garden to cook with! You can tell she cares very deeply for her guests. There are flush toilets and potable water (luxury), and firewood and hot showers for purchase. The wall down to the private beach is a little steep but easy. I would definitely recommend this campground to people who want to make a fire on the cliff overlooking the Pacific, and who love exchanging a pleasant "Good morning!" with neighbors :] My dog had an absolute blast as well. I'm looking forward to returning!

The camp site was great. Plenty of room for everyone to camp in tents and camp vans. Three of us stayed in the cabin. The camp is very clean and the sink and water hose are very convenient. There is a nice shady spot at the pond to sit. We saw lots of different wild life. I would recommend this site for a nice relaxing time. Just keep in mind that there is a short steep grade to get to the site, it is key to not slow down or stop to get up the grade.

From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure Lynda was always available and very helpful for any questions and assistance. The detail and fun that went in to this site is truly unique, fun, and peaceful. Lots of areas to relax alone or gather together. The creekside setting was gorgeous. The cabin was fully stocked and well set for anything you might need. We plan on coming back!

Joelle's Compound: With limited parking and accommodations, it felt very private on the property. Each camp is quite separate from the next and ours, the one with the tire swing, had a sweet canopy of trees and an awesome look out on the river. We loved that there was a table and a canopy available for us as well as wood! Returning ASAP! Super dog friendly and right up the river from Steelhead beach.

The camping spot was beautiful, and we really enjoyed looking out at the ocean and watching the seals on the rocks. Even though there were quite a few campers on the property, it was quiet. We slept well, and the sound of the ocean is what you hear. We loved walking down to the beach. This was the most beautiful spot we have ever camped. Brenda was helpful with her suggestions for hiking.

Nice Manager .gave us a ride to the lake so that we could arrange renting a boat. We did walk down to the Marina the next morning, and that's not bad, its all downhill We found a ride back up the hill. We were in our Class C Motorhome. The site had a great view of the lake. It was clean and had a firepit, which was nice ..but no grate, so bring your own bbq. We had a wonderful day on Lake Sonoma

Brenda was a great host. However the site I booked, Grassy Knoll was too close to the road. She offered me a more secluded spot which was amazing. Truly one of the most beautiful camping spots I’ve been on. The only thing I wished was that more weeding was done on the campsites and that the hot showers were not coin operated.

Here on the ridge above Gualala, lies nestled a lovely and serene campground called Thanktuary Retreat. Skunks, jackrabbits, deer, foxes and very rarely a mountain lion or bear can be found on our 5 acres of forested land. There is a fishpond with water lilies, mini golf course and pétanque court (both with equipment in a useful shed close by), a horse shoe ring and beautiful, natural secluded spots in the redwoods perfect for meditation and vision questing. Huckleberry bushes and ferns grow abundantly. The place lends itself to self-reflection and introspection. There is space for 1 RV with a patio table and chairs and some sun loungers. There are also 2 tent sites available on the property, located in one large area, further away from the RV sites. Barely 7 minutes away is downtown Gualala, with amenities such as 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery, restaurants and more. There is a beautiful holistic gift store, The Sea Trader, Four Eyed Frog Bookstore, and some lovely art galleries in town.   Kayaking is available at the Gualala River. Hiking at Gualala Regional Park, the Bluff Trail, The Sea Ranch public access beaches, Stump Beach, Salt Point Park with a petrified forest, Bowling Ball Beach with its amazing natural formations (can only be seen fully at low tide of more than -0.2m), Manchester State Beach, Elk Beach, and more. Swimming at the Navarro River, and various bays. It is a place of incredible scenic beauty all along CA 1. Watch whales spouting during whale season. (Gray whales and orcas is December to May. For humpbacks, visit May through November, and for blue whales, the largest animal on Earth, plan your stay between July and October). Finley Camp is nestled along Finley Creek in West Sonoma County. Campsites are located in open flats surrounded by Coast Doug Fir, Alder, and California Bay forests. The campsites are located past the end of the county road allowing for a quiet peaceful experience. Enjoy a quiet stroll on site, the surrounding communities of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and Tomales, or just enjoy a quiet day in camp. Our sites are located approximately 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. The campsites are 2.5 miles from the coast and the weather can be unpredictable. As a general rule, it is very similar to that of San Francisco. All camp sites are situated in a valley that offers protection from the coastal winds. The have both morning and evening shade. Sites #2, #6, #7, and #11 have the most space, while sites #4, #7, #8, #9 and #11 offer the most privacy. Sites 1-3, any combination of 5-7, and 12-13 are well suited for groups. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site. We have beef available for purchase from calves raised exclusively on our ranch. This beef is 100% grass fed and finished and never given grain of any kind. We have various cuts available such as steaks, ground, roasts, ribs, or other various specialty cuts. All beef is cut and wrapped by a USDA certified butcher. It is raised in an organic manner from cows that freely roam on the pastures of the coastal hills we call home. For further information or for a price sheet, please inquire with the camp host. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Finley Camp. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times while on the property. Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We are situated on roughly two acres of land, with multiple campsites for tent/car camping or RV’s. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and water. Electricity is available to use for an extra fee. We have separate men’s and women’s flush bathrooms, with coin-operated hot showers. We have firewood with kindling for sale on site, payable with cash or Venmo. Please take note of local fire bans, when in effect. Dog friendly, though be advised a leash is recommended as we are close to the road, but they can run leash-free down at the beach. We are located 30 minutes north of the town of Jenner, with Gualala 30 minutes to the north. Gualala has grocery stores, a post office, and some shops. Fort Ross Store is located one mile down the road, just before Timber Cove, and sells basic food necessities, drinks, sandwiches, ice and gas. Internet cell service can be spotty in our area, depending on your provider, so bring your own Starlink services if you have them. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. The weather can vary quickly here, so be sure to bring multiple layers of clothing and camp gear for various types of weather, and headlamps are useful for getting around the property at night! We hope you’ll come visit our little slice of heaven on the ocean cliffs, gaze at the stars, marvel at the sunsets, watch the harbor seals dozing on their rocks and the many bird species that inhabit our property. The Meadow Grove campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites] there are no hook-ups for RVs . Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table. The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing. Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. Please remember this when you book! *Campers who "change sites" without written approval by the host will be charged double!* There is a composting camp toilet, we do not have running water at the campground. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Meadow Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. Virtually all traffic on our stretch of road is daytime traffic. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway. *The Friendly Gray Cat's name is Boots!*

A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. Hot, cold, rain, wind, dirt, dust, mud and different animal sounds during the night. When you are here you may see frogs, toads, lizards, snakes (none poisonous) ants, turtles, squirrels, etc.. Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!! We also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Huckleberry Haven currently features TWO sites: FIRST is the Tent camp deck in the forest. Pitch your tent on a dry and flat deck. Surrounded by huckleberries (in season July-Nov), fir, pine and redwood trees and adjacent to Salt Point State Park and Kruse Rhododendron State Preserve. Deck site has basic amenities: potable well water, fire ring (check to ensure it's campfire season, and bring firewood!), picnic table, and an outhouse. SECOND is the RV camping parking spot. (no tents, please - ground isn't suitable) This site is near the top of our grassy meadow, with glorious forest views, on dry gravel, and features a picnic table & outhouse. It does not have a campfire facility, nor water. You're welcome to bring your own propane fire & cooking source, but NO open wood fires due to grassy fire hazards. Property is situated at 800' above sea level (usually above the fog) across the road from the Stump Beach trailhead in Salt Point State Park - which, from our driveway, is a 2 mile hike or bike ride down to the beach. Enjoy quiet solitude of one of the most private and quiet places on the Sonoma Coast. Avoid the crowds of Salt Point, with all the basic amenities you expect. Birdwatch, play frisbee golf, hunt for mushrooms, basecamp your hikes, runs or mountain bike rides in Salt Point, or use Huckleberry Haven as the central spot to innumerable road bike rides on empty roads. The choice is yours! Special note: Huckleberry Haven is on the edge of some great wilderness! We have all sorts of wildlife sauntering by, and certainly have for decades. We recommend taking precautions to avoid interacting with curious/hungry wildlife - Don't sleep with your food in the tent, and keep camp tidy! We know there to be black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, racoons, skunks and so forth. Mountain Lions tend to avoid us, but you'll want to check on best practices to avoid bear interactions. Konocti View Campsite in picturesque Lakeport California, are located on the west banks of Clear Lake, the oldest natural lake in North America and the largest freshwater lake in California. Enjoy expansive views of the lake and Mt. Konocti Volcano while camping on the waters edge. Clear Lake is a perfect destination for outdoor and water activities. It is well-known for Bass fishing, boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, bird watching, and so much more. The areas surrounding Clear Lake provide hiking, biking, casinos, award winning wineries, and great dining options. As a matter of fact, on the weekends the best BBQ on the lake is right next door with catering available for your stay. (Feel free to ask for more details if interested.) The campground itself has minimal amenities. Guests have access to a well maintained port-a-potty and a 3 compartment sink with running potable water. The site is great for watching the sunrise, fishing, bird watching, picnicking, etc. The is a propane fire pit for roasting marshmallows and a charcoal grill. At this time we discourage guests with small children due to the height of the seawall from the water and the absence of a fence around it. There is boat access to the campsites (and boat docking for a small fee) and Bass fishing is amazing this year! Its also the perfect spot for bird lovers as Clear Lake is home to Bald Eagles, osprey, swans, geese, ducks, and a multitude of feathered friends. Feel free to reach out for more info!

Foxes, Deer, Squirrels, Otters, Ducks and Herons as well as numerous songbirds that feed from our bird feeder.Lulu’s Lanai is a Flamingo-themed outdoor living room and dining area with fun vintage furniture and décor.The Take- A -Liki- Tiki Shower Shack is a great place to cool off and clean up after a day on the river or exploring tidepools at the coast. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. There are several restaurants along the river as well as a small grocery store, movie theater, and a Homemade Ice Cream Parlor that are all close enough to walk to or drive. Ettawa Springs Resort dates back to the 1920s and 30s like the fashionable resorts in the Cobb area where the rich and famous came to play. But Ettawa was oriented towards families and a more relaxed and rustic atmosphere. We are working hard to restore her to her former glory. We are excited to announce that we have a few campsites ready for use and will be adding more soon. We offer hot showers and flush toilets and some sites with running water. You can hike through our property to the Cobb Mountain Demonstration Forest or just enjoy the clean air and listen to the wind and the birds. On clear nights the stars put on an amazing show. Clear Lake is about 45 minutes away with all the fishing and water sports you could ask for. Harbin Hot Springs are 15 minutes away and they offer day passes for reasonable rates. We are located about 20 minutes outside of Middletown. Be aware that half of the road is dirt (and that's better than the asphalt half) all of it is fine for small cars, just take your time. The last 1/2 mile or so is a one lane road, so please be careful of opposing traffic and uneven surfaces. We cannot accommodate vehicles longer than 28’ on these roads. We offer California camping at its finest. Fresh air, whispering trees, amazing star fields . . . this can mean the less attractive side of nature as well. We have ticks, rattlesnakes, stinging things, poison oak, uneven trails and surfaces, and a bear on one ridge with mountain cats on the other (no sign of either in the campground). We keep the restroom stocked with tick spray and Tecnu for the poison oak, but please watch yourselves and especially children. Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on lead for their own protection and the comfort of others. We are fairly hands off in our hosting approach. Unless there's a question or problem, you likely won't see us. But we have people close by and are only a message away.

Hopefully next year we can fix the driveway. There is lots of parking close by for tent camping and walk-in. Located in downtown Knights Landing (a small town but very walkable) the site is close enough to walk in for coffee, taco truck, mini-mart of other essentials. Knights Landing is 15 miles north of Sacramento and 10 miles East of Woodland which has ALL the bog box stores for whatever you need - Costco, Home Depot, Gym, etc, so if you forget something - everything is available within 10-15 minutes.
