The Grant Line campsite is situated right next to an original 1840’s Spanish Land Grant boundary line, which is intersected by Forest Route 11N01. The grant has since been divided, but large pieces of land still remain, mostly inhabited by mountainous wildlife, ground squirrels, rabbits, coyotes and cattle. This area is also rich in Chumash history. Million-dollar views of the Caliente Mountain Range await you for evening sunsets and the Sierra Madre Mountain Range await you for your morning coffee enjoyment. Don't miss the brilliance of the famous Cottonwood Canyon Wildflowers with your front row seat. For your comfort, there is a 16x20 rustic-style shade structure (which has also been used for a dance floor!), water spigot, fire pit, small BBQ, and an outhouse. Sites are spread around on the east side of the property facing the river for beautiful river views while you sip coffee from your site. There are a multitude of recreation opportunities to enjoy.
On site there is hiking, places to practice yoga or meditate, kayaking, paddle boarding. We also have a hammock veranda that is fully shaded and a great place to relax along the river. Miles of biking paths run on the road right by where we are situated and there is a nearby river rafting company if you want the white water experience.
Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Portable heaters or fans with misting options are available for rent.

We had the most incredible wedding camp-out here! 🌿✨
Dave was the absolute best host — kind, easygoing, and so helpful with every bit of logistics. He helped us organize things like fuel for our generators, firewood, and even connected us with an amazing caterer for our reception. Dave is just good people. For our potluck rehearsal dinner, he cooked the meats himself, and they were so delicious!
The property itself is stunning — with wide-open views that made for the most beautiful sunsets and starlit nights. The built-in fire pit, flush toilet, and outdoor shower were such a treat and made our stay feel extra comfortable while still keeping that perfect camp vibe.
It was always a joy to see Dave drive up with his two adorable pups in tow. Thanks to him and this magical spot, we were able to create the camp-out wedding of our dreams. The whole weekend was pure magic — the kind of experience we’ll be talking about forever.

Excellent location right on the creek. Quiet, we were the only ones there. Short 15 min hike to Big Falls trailhead which is a great trail to a waterfall the kids had a lot of fun at. Cabana was great for all three of us to sleep, hot shower, bathroom.

We crossed the creek 13 times (I think😊) while we were driving towards Varonica's place hidden deep in the wilderness. We saw deer, a bear, domestic pigs and dogs on the way. Getting there was a true adventure!
Trout Corner was just what we wanted: an isolated place surrounded by nature. The soothing sound of the creek right next to the campsite was so relaxing to hear all night. Our dog loved running into the creek, and he was happy to sniff around without his leash.
We didn't even set up our tent, we just used the canopy that was already there.
There's an outlet with electricity. Bring an extension cord and you can have electricity inside the tent.

We booked Trout Corner for 4th of July weekend and it was lovely! Host was friendly and responsive. The space was super nice and we could hear the creek the whole time. There a lot of little gnat flies but they don’t bite and once you light your fire they disperse. The spot is super close to the Big Falls Trail, which is a beautiful hike! Fair warning: the post says you don’t need 4x4 wheel drive but I would highly recommend 4x4 wheel drive. At least a car that has some clearance as you do have to drive through shallow parts of the creek. Overall, we enjoyed the privacy, nature, and the relaxing atmosphere! Would definitely book again!
