On site is a work in progress and you will see project sites not fully completed. We have a hammock veranda that is fully shaded and a great place to relax along the river. Miles of biking paths run on the road right by where we are situated and there is a nearby river rafting company if you want the white water experience. Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Portable heaters or fans with misting options are available for rent.

We are between Sequoia National Park (about an hour) and the Giant Sequoia National Monument (16 miles to groves up Hwy 190 and no entrance fee). Choose from individual tent sites, group tent sites, tiny cabins. the 5-acre Compound or the Entire Ranch. We occasionally host small, thoughtful, low impact weddings. Please inquire. There are 33 giant sequoia groves in our Southern Region of the Giant Sequoia National Monument, some easily driven to, and some remote. Our ranch is a nature preserve and an education demonstration site, teaching sustainable and regenerative land use practices. River Ridge Institute, our non-profit, hosts a variety of events for the public. Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Need a budget friendly place to stay near the sequoias or Kernville that has a view? Look no further. This Trailer is built by hand and everything on the property has been handmade with care. This Trailer has a great view and comes with a hot tub! This trailer is in my backyard where you'll have privacy. Things are still being built on the property. If you want a budget friendly place to use as a crash pad, I would love to host you! Behind the house on the mountainside you can walk down the red mulch pathway to the backyard. The Trailer has a California king size mattress and 4 king size pillows. You have a view of the mountains from your sleeping spot. All spaces have been made by hand so please take your shoes off in the trailer. There is a beautiful hand crafted shower under the pine tree above the trailer and the toilet is in its own space below the shower.

The Squattage was great to stay at and James and Diane were amazing hosts. We were nervous about the heat but the Squattage was equipped with an AC unit and fans. Definitely recommend if you're looking to get away from for a bit.

My family and I loved the A-frame cabin and surrounding property. The view over the lake is incredible and there is wide open, dark skies at night. The Milkway was clearly visible and we got to see the moonrise over the lake every night - very magical! Robyn is a fantastic host with great comms - I would definitely recommend the spot.

Ample layout inside and outside, AC is great, really basic kitchen things, the BBQ made so much sense for cooking outside based on hot it gets! The dart board was a great experience for us. The seating arrangements were not lacking! I enjoyed the variety.

The Playhouse was exceptional. For my first Hipcamp experience, this was a beautiful get away with a great overall experience from John. The quiet atmosphere combined with the beauty of the surrounding nature truly was breathtaking.

Finding this place was such a gift. I wanted to explore the Tule River and have a camp like experience with my son. I was able to simply arrive, settle in, and enjoy the grounds. Having access to the kitchen, stove, and refrigerator made everything so much easier and meant we didn't have to pack nearly as much. It took so much stress off my nervous system and allowed me extra time to connect with my son and nature. The cabin was quaint and thoughtfully cared for. You can feel the intention behind this place, everything has been created with simplicity, care, and respect for the land. I really feel like I found a pocket of peace. Looking forward to checking out the cow pasture and star gazing next time. Thank you Gary, sincerely.

Weekend Trip to Luke’s glamping spot

We stayed the weekend, and we had a wonderful time! It's a cute little converted trailer with an outdoor shower and toilet. The space was just what we wanted for a chill weekend in the mountains. The view of the lake was beautiful, and we had a great time admiring the stars from the deck. We would definitely go back! Definitely going to book again!! 😁😁😁

We loved this place. My 4 year old had a blast wondering around the camp. The river with a private beach is amazing. The cabin was super nice, very quiet, very secluded. The full kitchen and refrigerator was also a nice touch. Great base camp. The camp has WiFi so that’s nice. Close to town and right off the 190. We will be back for sure

Cabin was great, right next to several other cabins and the toilet, not too far from the communal kitchen. Beds were comfy and clean. We were a little spooked by the baby rattlesnakes that are prevalent this time of year, but it's high enough to be slightly cooler than the rest of the valley and see the stars.
