Primal Lands at OZ Family Farm is set in the Rocktree Valley just East of Willits. We are a working family farm about 15 minutes, from the town center. The camp sites are in a private pasture with views of snow capped mountains in the winter and a beautiful moon rising above the tree tops in the summer. There are two streams that the campsites are located next to. one seasonal and one year round. This peaceful valley is home to an extensive amount of wildlife. It hosts both wild pigs and turkeys as well as deer, bobcats, foxes, rabbits and an occasional mountain lion or bear have veen spotted. You should bring your binoculars because the valley is lined with acres upon acres of forests and wooded hills that are home to an incredible variety of birds and tree species. We hope our primal land will help expose people to the diverse flora and fauna around them and help educate them to the need to protect the diversity in people, places and our planet. All of which bring an important piece of the puzzle to the table and hold keys to our past and future. We hope to be able to have the honor of hosting many different groups that can gather here on this land for learning, teaching and cummuning with the nature that flourishes here. There is an abundance of things to do in and around Willits. It can be your cozy get away to rest, read a book next to the sounds of the stream or hike and ride a bike or a horse down our dirt roads. The Skunk Train in town can take you on a trip through through the Redwood Forest and Noyo River Canyon towards Fort Bragg. It stops along its route to see the Wolf Tree Redwood. The oldest along its tracks. You also have the option of booking an excursion on the Railbikes which leave from both Willits or Fort Bragg and use the same train tracks. If your driving to Fort Bragg you will want to go to Glass Beach on the coast and check out the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens or do a Scavenger Hunt. There is also the Coast Redwood growing in Montgomery Woods State Park to our south having what was thought for a long time to be the tallest known tree in the world at close to 365 feet tall. It stands 5 stories higher than the Statue of Liberty. In the town of Willits there a myriad of options. Eclectic shopping at Mazahan or Earths Treasures or classics at The GOOD Shoppe or Art in the Plaza. Gateway games offers weekly card and board game competitions or go visit Ridgewood Ranch, the final home of the legendary Racehorse Seabiscuit. If camping , hiking and relaxing just isn't enough to fill your day there is golf available in Brooktrails and Mendocino County is home to ten different appellations of wine with over 25% dedicated to organic and sustainable farming. Upcoming Events: April 8: Come sit by the fire for the Total Eclipse of the sun June 28: starts the beginnig of Frontier Days. Camp with us and be just 15 minutes away from the week long event with Jr Rodeo qualifiers for Las Vegas Jr World Championships, Pro Rodeo and concerts and Ranch Broncs and Bull. Once you have made reservations you will receive an email with written directions that must be followed to find this magical place. This property has been in the family since 1922. During a time of no roads just the railroad that passed through, and a river ferry. At the entrance of the property was the town of Skelly, with a post office, train stop, animal corrals and railroad logging spurs. The lands primary use was ranching and timber back then. The flat that the camp ground is located on is the site of the old Larrabee school house after the 1955 flood took out the original school house. The railroad was closed indefinitely in 1996, which changed the entire landscape for this small community. This area is accessible by a low water bridge in the summer months and offers a spot to slip back in time. Today the land is a great example of sustainably harvest redwoods, a project that was established by great grandpa and is still in practice today. The timber surrounds the pastures and farm land that now produces hay. We acquired this land 5 years ago and have spent countless hours restoring the fields, managing the forest and creating a working sustainable environment. It is a very special place and offers peace and quite to those who enjoy the out doors and camping. Just six minutes off the Avenue of the Giants through Holms Flat.

There are two ponds on the property many hiking biking roads and trail’s, lovely landscaping and large open areas for camping. Included with the main camp is your own two story mountain cabana that can easily sleep 8-10 people comfortably. Under the living quarters is a fully stocked game room with cable bar and full sized pool table. The covered patio deck is perfect for lounging and and letting the breeze blow through. There is a nice outdoor BBQ zone with fully stocked indoor kitchen at arms reach as well. Nearby are the horseshoe pits and flat areas for tent camping. There is ample parking for your quads trailers and other toys. The driveway is rough for the first half and smooths out nicely once on the property. Be advised an SUV or similar is recommended although the owners would drive their Mercedes and other regular passenger cars up the 2.0 mile driveway to the retreat. The story starts with the adventure of getting here! Please use any map app to: Holmes, Ca. DO NOT use any map app after this point - IT WILL NOT GET YOU THERE! Once you have made reservations you will receive an email with written directions that must be followed to find this magical place. This property has been in the family since 1922. During a time of no roads just the railroad that passed through, and a river ferry. At the entrance of the property was the town of Skelly, with a post office, train stop, animal corrals and railroad logging spurs. The lands primary use was ranching and timber back then. The flat that the camp ground is located on is the site of the old Larrabee school house after the 1955 flood took out the original school house. The railroad was closed indefinitely in 1996, which changed the entire landscape for this small community. This area is accessible by a low water bridge in the summer months and offers a spot to slip back in time. Today the land is a great example of sustainably harvest redwoods, a project that was established by great grandpa and is still in practice today. The timber surrounds the pastures and farm land that now produces hay. We acquired this land 5 years ago and have spent countless hours restoring the fields, managing the forest and creating a working sustainable environment. It is a very special place and offers peace and quite to those who enjoy the out doors and camping. Just six minutes off the Avenue of the Giants through Holms Flat.

We had a wonderful stay at Aloha Cabin! The property is secluded, peaceful, and perfect for unplugging. We loved exploring the abundant land, and the night sky was incredible—we could even see the Milky Way. The yard and fire pit made evenings extra cozy, and our pets enjoyed it just as much as we did. Inside, the wood stove kept us warm and comfortable, and everything worked perfectly. The cabin has a charming, eco-friendly feel with cool history and plenty of books to browse. It was exactly the cozy getaway we were hoping for. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The golden bowl was perfect for my partner and I. Due to daylight savings time, we never met the host, but they were super accommodating and lovely to message with. Kind size bed was comfy. Blankets were super warm, so no heater was needed (there is not electricity). This spot is closer to camping with luxuring than glamping with all the extras. We didn't use the outdoor kitchen area but imagine it is super useful. My rav4 had no problem getting down the hill to our tent. This tent seems much more secluded than the other two on this property, so that's good to know for other potential people staying! We so sorry appreciate an affordable place to sleep, as everyone does not have $$$ that is trying to travel. Location was great to get to willits, the coast, and we stopped at orr hot springs on our way there - all within a reasonable distance for folks like us who are used to driving to get anywhere! I didn't bring my dog but always appreciate pet friendly spots :) I would come back!

Elderberry Camp was a nice and secluded stay. We essentially had the entire place to ourselves. Elderberry camp is the furthest away from the other 2 sites on that side of the property, but also note that it is the closest to the road. There isn’t enough traffic for it to be a problem in my opinion but if you are a light sleeper, it may affect you. Unfortunately, the creek was also dry during our stay. However, the foggy nights brought in nice moisture/frost that burned off by 11am. Another plus was the clean outhouse. Thanks, Stephen!

Staying at Golden Bowl is a lovely way to get out of the city and disconnecting from electricity for a weekend. You can see the stars without all the light pollution it was beautiful. Had a lovely romantic night by the campfire. And our favorite part is spending time in the kitchen area making meals and enjoying the fire! Kristina was great being there when we arrived to show us around. She even helped getting wood for the fireplace. The tent was decorated lovely and really felt outdoorsy.

This was our second time here and honestly it was even better than the last. Heidi and Matt are so responsive and sweet and make the experience so wonderful and seamless every time. We had some first time campers with us and even they loved it. This property is just so amazing and perfect for having a beautiful weekend to share with friends in raw nature. I can’t recommend this stay enough! The site and spending time in the river is the absolute best although I HIGHLY recommend checking your tires before summitting the rough terrain and steep hills of the property. We got a little stuck but were able to maneuver our way out from the river. Despite that I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend in such a beautiful and serene location. We’ll definitely be back next year too!

Wonderful place to camp in Willits. Kristina was very friendly and greeted me with a vase of flowers :) Golden Bowl site was private and well away from the other 2 sites, which were close together near the road. The tent was amazing, clean and felt very welcoming the moment I entered. I loved the star lights above the bed. There was the newly built deck nearby with a kitchen set up, with provided dishes, soap, sponges as well as a propane barbecue and camp stove. A great place to dance beneath the stars with your loved one. The compost bathroom was a bit of a challenge for someone like me with a bad knee. But loved the idea of a potty tree. ( Be sure to bring your own TP) The late afternoon sun did light up the hillside beautifully in a golden aura and the night sky was wondrous. I would stay here again and am happy with my stay and the memories of days well spent. Thank you Kristina :)

Amazing campsite! We are privileged that Gina opened up this unique site and made it available for others to experience. (If it was my property, I'd keep it to myself ; ) We stayed with 17' travel trailer and enjoyed being up-close and personal with the majestic redwoods. Sites are very spacious with or without other guests. Water and common areas are well planned and laid out. Gina's property is the perfect getaway to recharge and offers the ideal blend of historic Redwoods, open pastures, and very cool nearby bridges for exploring. Kids were happy, parents were happy, we'll definitely be back.
