Located at the base of the Sierra Foothills in Murphys, California, we are fourteen acres perched on the edge of time. Our landscape straddles geologic formations that span millions of years across the Mesozoic and Paleozoic eras.
The marbleized limestone outcropping is a prominent site feature that's culturally, geologically, and historically significant. It was used as a communal grinding rock — Chaw'se — by the Miwok to process acorns into meal for food. This same rock formation was later hydraulically mined for gold in the second half of the 19th century, amidst some of the largest mining operations during the California Gold Rush. Downtown Murphys, our local gold-mining town turned quaint wine country destination, is just 1.5 miles away.
Our site manifests as a spiritual epicenter within the larger landscape, a gateway to the Sierras, a space of regeneration. Fourteen acres of pure possibility for gathering, for staying, for inspiration, for joy.

Very remote off grid barn with an outhouse, vegetable garden, fruit trees, and small vineyard that I make wine from. There's a creek that runs through the property with Indian grinding holes. We also have volleyball, horseshoes, hiking trails, and much more!
You will be in gold country where you can still find gold in the creek to this day! If you're lucky, you might find a nugget, but there's mostly pickers and fines.
The nights are absolutely stunning for viewing the stars with no light pollution. You will have almost complete privacy, with the exception of an occasional over head aircraft. I have only one group at a time.

The End of The Driveway is one big site for buses/RVs/big vans next to the Soup Kitchen. 1 Pine and 2 Pine are up a separate driveway on the ridge.
The driveway spot is down the driveway a couple hundred yards from where we usually are so you’ll more or less be on your own, depending on if we have work to do down there or if there are other campers. We are happy to chat or leave you be, just let us know what your needs are. If you’re looking for a more isolated spot, see the listings for 1 Pine or 2 Pine.
The 2nd area is “1 Pine” accessed by our second driveway that is 100 yards down the road from the farm. The driveway is kind of rough but definitely manageable with a truck, SUV or sedan if you’re willing to go for it. The drive goes up a couple hundred yards to the hilltop where there is a clearing and, you guessed it, 1 pine tree. From the back of the clearing there is a trail that leads you to 2 Pine, which is a walk that takes just a few minutes. 2 Pine is walk-in only but has great views of the sunset and is totally secluded and private and would be a good spot to either bring some friends for a little sunset party or for someone who wants to seriously unplug. There are plenty of flat spots to pitch a tent.

Our time there was very private and safe. We had to leave our RV for a few days to look for property to purchase and everything was left the same when we came back. Our RV was left a few times in a trusting environment behind an electric gate. At arrival, you are given a remote to this gate to come and go as you please. Our spot was secluded and very peaceful. I would definitely recommend this rv park to a friend. I had several dogs with me and they were very happy as well. It’s a beautiful and peaceful location with plenty of room for your furry loved ones.

We had a nice weekend camping at Pond Bank Waterfront. The property was easy to find and access. We parked our trailer parallel to the pond so that we had a nice view of it. We were the only ones accessing the pond so that was nice. We were aware of neighbors across the pond but they are far enough away that it was no issue. We really enjoyed watching all of the birds come and go to the pond. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful!
We liked that the location of the property is so close to things to do during our stay. We spent the afternoon on Saturday checking out the Kennedy Mine and Kennedy Tailing Wheels. Fascinating. Walking around Sutter Creek was fun too.
The only issue we had were mosquitos which come any place with water. Just be prepared for them to come out an hour or so before sunset. We didn't have any issue with them during the day.

Having a private reservoir to unwind at was a lovely addition to our weekend away. We explored some local trails with our dog and then came to fish and relax by the resorvoir. There are some neighbors with animals that are chatty but that is to be expected out in the country. We took out the paddleboat and enjoyed hours relaxing on the land. Thanks James!

We spent a night there so we could be close to a concert at Ironstone Amphitheater. Great location for that purpose! The property was great and Anita was a great host. It was a bit tight fit getting our 33.5’ travel trailer backed into the site, but doable. All in all, it’s a great spot. And my wife loves Anita’s pot-bellied pig. Highly recommend.

So peaceful and private .i didn’t see a soul the entire time.
The paddle boat was great and I appreciated the runner of artificial grass that was very soft
The pond is so refreshing and the sand beach .nice to lie on.
Note there is no picnic table but a glass table and a wooden stool, so as long as you have chairs it’s not an issue.
The gas grill does not work .
There is a large fire pit on wheels that will be awesome once the fire ban is lifted.
I even made a sweet duck friend! I’d come back just for him!

Amazing spot and host! We'll definitely be back! I'd say this spot is in between glamping and camping. Running portable water, a creek, outhouses (one that actually flushed), shower, pop-up trailer and structures to sleep in and under, the list goes on. So many little spots and buildings to camp and setup at for a scenic, private camping experience.

Stayed with my wife and kids at Scott's place and had an amazing time. Scott met us at the gate and helped us drive in. Scott is extremely friendly and showed us around the property, then left us to ourselves to enjoy our time there. The place is extremely private with nobody around, it doesn't get any better than this. We had our own private creek where the kids spent a lot of time fishing for crawdads. The campsite is right on the creek, and listening to the creek while sitting around the fire was priceless. If you are looking for a private getaway in the woods, this is the place. Scott has the place setup with multiple fire pits and chopped wood, there was charcoal and propane BBQs. Also camping stoves. Two huge tables with umbrellas. Tons of blackberry bushes with blackberries that taste like candy. We couldn't have found a better place to camp. There is even a small cabin and a barn. On the day we left our car battery died, and Scott was kind enough to send his son out to help us jump our battery. Thank you guys so much! This is truly a hidden gem and we were so lucky to find this spot. Thanks again for everything Scott, appreciate you!

Great spot. Perfect to fish, boat and relax with friends. Outhouse was a welcome surprise. Site is definitely exposed and hot, but its location on the water cannot be beat. One thing to note; the reservoir isn’t completely private. Two or three other properties have access to the water, but no one came out during our stay. Will certainly be returning in the future!

The homestead is a hidden gem just a few minutes from San Andreas, CA. You’ll have to go through a couple of very shallow creeks (our SUVs had no issue crossing — and Scott helped the family navigate!) and you’ll find a rustic campsite perfect for splashing in some creeks, hanging out under the shade of trees, and relaxing under the stars. We had 2 kids with us and they love playing in the creek and swimming with tiny fishes in the watering hole. The 2 dogs were also able to run around freely. The property itself had some very cool amenities like hammocks, swings, volleyball nets, basketball hoops as well as creature comforts like running water and toilets. There’s always something to do to keep the kids busy while enjoying each other’s presence. Thank you so much, Scott, for your warm reception!

Where to go
River and Creek Arms
The very northern park of Lake Don Pedro is split between the Tuolumne River Arm and the Woods Creek Arm. The developed Moccasin Point Campground is on the eastern end, near highways 120 and 49, and offers tent and RV sites with full hookups, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and BBQ grills. Dispersed shoreline camping can be found along both the Woods Creek Arm and Tuolumne River Arms, especially toward the extreme ends of the lake.
Upper Bay, Middle Bay, and East Bay
The Upper Bay, East Bay, and Middle Bay make up the central portion of Lake Don Pedro. The Wreck-Bay Boat-in Camp Area sits at the western end of the Upper Bay offering fire rings and vault toilets, while the Graveyard Creek Boat-in Camp Area is near Rock Island in the Middle Bay. Dispersed camping is also available at most of the shoreline in this region.
South Bay and West Bay
The southern end of Don Pedro Reservoir offers the most amenities for campers. At the western end, find tent and RV sites with electricity and water hookups at Blue Oaks Campground, also home to BBQ grills, restrooms, showers, a store, and a dump station. A nearby group campground has space for up to 200 people, and the Fleming Meadows Campground, near the visitor center and dam, also offers campsites with full amenities. Dispersed camping is available in certain actions of the southern and western shorelines.
