Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Inside, you won’t believe you’re in a camper. Renovated in 2019 this Comfy+Cozy Camper is exactly that. The sleeping areas have blackout blinds as well as the kitchen window. Cozy up in the queen bed on a 3” mattress topper next to double sconces; perfect for a night read, or cuddle up and watch some TV.
The bunkroom has its own door for privacy, separate sitting area with table, sleeps 3 with a 200lb max weight limit for both top bunks. Inside the bunkroom I've provided fun coloring books with colored pencils, books and walki talkies. If you need a pack-n-play, please let me know! This space is perfect size for kids 10 and under, though adults have squeezed in!
Nearby the Camper sits our chicken coop, each stay you’ll be provided a fresh eggs & you’re welcome to grab more from the coop and say hi!

With pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and plenty of wildlife including: hawks, Owls, bunnies and more which all contribute to Regenerative Organic farming and offer viewing pleasure. The local area provides hiking, wildlife, mountain biking, lakes and 35 minutes to the nearest wine tasting in Temecula. We are an hour from the beach and roughly an hour and half to Skiing and Snowboarding at Mt. High. Minutes away from Santa Rosa Plateau for hiking. You are also a 15-30 minute drive to explore the amenities of the local cities, wine country and 45 minutes to the beach. The 21 acre property provides amazing views as well as biking and hiking along the local fire and farm roads. We offer Camping supplies such as tents or chairs if needed for a small rental fee as well as the ability to purchase fresh avocados, citrus or Farm fresh eggs from the grove. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees.
Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Inside, you won’t believe you’re in a camper. Renovated in 2019 this Comfy+Cozy Camper is exactly that. The sleeping areas have blackout blinds as well as the kitchen window. Cozy up in the queen bed on a 3” mattress topper next to double sconces; perfect for a night read, or cuddle up and watch some TV.
The bunkroom has its own door for privacy, separate sitting area with table, sleeps 3 with a 200lb max weight limit for both top bunks. Inside the bunkroom I've provided fun coloring books with colored pencils, books and walki talkies. If you need a pack-n-play, please let me know! This space is perfect size for kids 10 and under, though adults have squeezed in!
Nearby the Camper sits our chicken coop, each stay you’ll be provided a fresh eggs & you’re welcome to grab more from the coop and say hi!

We’re close to Bonsall shopping center which has some of our favorite restaurants; Z cafe, Fresco Grill, Peking Wok, Tekila Cocina & Village Pizza.

We loved car camping in Horizons at Splitrock. We were welcomed to the property by goats and enjoyed seeing the chickens, alpaca, and dogs during our visit. Beautiful views all around! We were able to walk the property and see the other sites as well, you can’t go wrong at Splitrock!

Great stay at Skyline Mountain! The host was super friendly, communicative, and flexible, which made everything easy from start to finish.
The space was perfect for our group of 11 — tons of room to spread out, plenty of parking, and very well set up. Clean porta-potty, running water, string lights, tables, benches, and a bar platform were all ready when we arrived. The amphitheater stage was a highlight and a great place to hang out and enjoy the views.
Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for group camping.

Had a wonderful time at Hilltop Hideout. Good space, lots of privacy, great views. A highlight was the goat herd with Pedro the Alpaca.
The table at the site was a 4-top rather than a traditional picnic table. There was also a little loveseat by the fire pit which was nice. The bathrooms with flushing toilets were close enough (~3 minute walk). The camp store was well-stocked!

Peaceful rock site was perfect for our group of 8. We got cloudy skies unfortunately and we'd love to come back again to see sunset and stars! We enjoyed seeing the goats and the alpaca. Second visit to this year at this campground and I have to say it’s absolutely one of the best private campgrounds in the San Diego area. Stunning views from nearly every location. With hot showers and clean restrooms (flushable toilets !!), a on site store with most camping needs, what more could a camper need. It honestly feels like stepping into a movie, from the fee range goats (and llama) that share the space, to the sunrises above the clouds that appear endless I cannot recommend this place enough. And not to mention the extremely accesible prices for tent/rv camping. Overall 11/10 so awesome will be returning frequently!!!
