I loved staying at this tucked away cabin near the bay. Ted and Emily were kind and accommodating hosts and it was a beautiful, peaceful getaway from the city life. Plenty of accommodations including an outdoor shower and kitchen including a mini fridge. They chatted me up about some local mountain bike trails and I really enjoyed my time. Lovely little spot. Highly recommend!

We were doing a road trip and needed a spot to break up the long drive. We stopped at this quaint little place. The drive to the site is easy from town. Upon arrival, the cabin was lit up in the string lights in the dark. The craftsmanship of this cabin is amazing. We enjoyed using the wood stove and appreciated that the hosts had wood ready for us to warm up on a cool night. Although close by to two residences on the property, you still felt that you had privacy. The only downside I would say was that the bathroom door is glass and does not have a very full covering. One of the residences can see right into the bathroom from their wide open windows. Not a big deal but if they put a little more of coverage on this door, the site would be a 11/10.

So beautiful, romantic, and equipped! It really has everything you could need while remaining pretty minimalist. The steamy outdoor shower on a cold morning was healing, and the privacy of the toilet was ideal (totally worth it to walk outside the cabin for a moment, and you’re still totally protected from rain and dirt on the couple of steps it takes to reach it.) Can’t wait to come back.

Cute cabin - really nice to have heat (wood stove), electricity, and a real sink, shower, toilet. This is my oversight but reiterating the alert to others: they do not provide bedding! The pics all show a made bed so I guess my brain just glazed over that part in the description. Glad they left dry wood, kindling and a throw blanket for the cool night. Slept with a strong fire going and my jacket as a pillow. Could be improved: Whole place smelled a little bit like cat pee. Looks dreamy in the warmer months. Under 10 mins to downtown arcata.

My husband and I absolutely loved this magical space! Even in such a short stay this place gave to us serenity, inspiration, wonderment, and peace. It definitely made for a sweet celebration of my birthday that I will cherish forever! Thank you! We will definitely return soon!

Weekend Trip to Redwood Family Camp

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin! The campground is in a great location giving us the opportunity to tour the amazing redwood forests. Clean bathrooms and hot showers were great. The nights got chilly so we made use of the electric heater. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip out to this beautiful, special place.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! The location was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful scenery, the perfect spot to relax and disconnect. Our host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, and offered great local tips. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet escape in nature!

2 nights at Bayside Cabin

The sweetest cabin in the most convenient location! This camp had everything we needed - hot shower, flushing toilet, and a simple, cozy outdoor kitchen setup. Only 5-10 minutes from the hub of Arcata. The cabin felt really private and was nestled in the most darling grove of aspens. Would recommend and would love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Bayside Cabin

Nice cute affordable place to stay. I really liked the hot outdoor shower and the signature banana slugs. My dog didnt want to leave this place or Humboldt in general! Cute little porch and was very quiet to read etc. Also included sink and lots of kitchen utensils etc. It was very chill! Ted the host is friendly and makes sure you feel welcome!

Weekend Trip to Dark Fairy Farms

Beautiful cabin and hosts. Away from all distractions, we really enjoyed this place. Hosts were top, amazing views and property, lots of wildlife, great get away. So relaxing. Wish we had a longer time there. Thanks Sara and Liam, and Stanley too.

5 nights at Bayside Cabin

Emily and Ted's magical cabin offered a gorgeous place to start and end our days and a cozy place to recharge with a full schedule of activities. There were black-tailed deer waiting to greet us when we arrived and over a dozen species of birds to hear and see every morning. The hosts were kind and accommodating but offered plenty of privacy and space to do our own thing. The timberframe architecture and joinery is beautifully done, and we appreciated the solar electricity and propane hot water that made it much easier to travel with a 6 year old. Hope we get to visit again someday!
