A small but cozy and well-appointed cabin/cottage in a forest of pine trees and cedars within 10 minutes of the Yuba River. The property is two acres of forest in between town and the Yuba River. The cabin has a kitchenette and it's own private bathroom. In addition to the indoor shower, there is also a semi-private outdoor shower. There are also places to relax and enjoy the forest. There's a very comfortable queen bed plus a pull-out sofa bed that can fit 1-2 more people. The cabin is quiet but please note that it is within close proximity of the other house on the property.

There is the 'MUST SEE' yuba river nearby neavada city and grass valley, Greenhorn creek that runs into Rollins Lake very close to the property. Also the American River is another nearby beauty worth exploring. There is so much nature and beauty around our area. Frolic (property name) is a wild place with nature running the show. It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

Camp WAN-NA-B is a great place to get away in the forest. Property backs up to the national forest, walk to Bear River. Learn about off grid living and camping, water systems and compost toilets or just enjoy your time in the forest. A great place to star gaze. There are many great places to hike, take a dip in the Bear River or just relax by the creek and unwind from the city life. Just a short walk to the Bear River. A small stream runs right through the property. You may even book the stream site to enjoy it close up. A very short drive to Emerald Pools, Lake Spaulding and South Yuba River. Truckee or North Shore Lake Tahoe just 30-40 minute drive for a day trip. There is also a great eatery just up the road, right off Highway 80, if you are interested in a lunch out. This area is know for gold panning and we are located right down the road from a historical gold mine, Donner Mine Camp. This land is new to Hipcamp. This land is being shared for the first time and owner has been enjoying it for over 20 years. Forget the crowded campgrounds, come share a little piece of paradise right in the forest.

This cabin was incredible- had everything we needed, was so cozy, record player with throwback vinyls that were so nostalgic to listen to, and decor was very pleasing. Would absolutely recommend and looking forward to returning!

Weekend Trip to Frolic Pond Cabin

The Nest on Frolic Meadows was fantastic. It is very bare bones, but provided everything we needed and was exactly what we were looking for. There is no electricity or WiFi signal, so be prepared to get off grid and just enjoy the serenity of nature. There is a compostable toilet just right up the path, close to the cabin, which was totally fine. There was a cute little tree frog that I had to move away when using it. You will be in nature here, so you will also have to appreciate all the wildlife around you. Speaking of wildlife, there were over 16 species of birds in the area that my Merlin app picked up. There is a small area for storage in the unit that is separate from the sleeping area. The double or queen bed was enough space for my 11-year old and me to sleep comfortably. We brought blankets, but it was so hot this past weekend that we didn’t really need them. The cabin cooled off nicely at night with the sleeping area window open. Matia was a great communicator and made the directions very clear; it was easy to find, and I am glad we did! The pond right out the door from the cabin provided; it had a nice temperature for swimming and it was good fishing. There were both large mouth bass and bluegills. In our short stay, we caught two bass and three bluegills. There is only one other property bordering the pond. There were some folks enjoying it, but only for a couple hours. For the most part, we had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommended!

Such a charming spot! Would love to stay here again. I regret not drinking coffee out in the little back terrace, though! The skylights are fabulous to wake up to and was the much needed stay for a good dose of forest bathing. Thanks Tim!

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Forest Near Yuba River

The cabin was cozy and perfect! My partner and I stayed here with our dog for a long weekend. There was heating and showers and even a record player with some lovely albums. The property is gorgeous and so close to hikes in the area and the downtown is only a 10 minute drive away. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!
