The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

The Space:
A 13 ft Bell tent is setup for you with one queen bed and one single bed inside (beds are made with sheets and comforters). The tent sits approximately 75 ft above the river with breathtaking views of the river and canyon. If you are coming with a group, there is over an acre of flat land which is perfect for any type of tent setup.
At the tent site you’ll have access to a table and chairs, lounge chairs, picnic table, gas BBQ, basketball hoop and balls, rock campfire, kayaks, and a porta potty. A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River.
Guest access:
The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for up to four vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house.
River access:
If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, and kayak's. The riverbank has small pebbles and rocks so water shoes are highly suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed).

This is a private tent site with one other listing on the property which is located at the house. You may rarely see other guests during your stay.

Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild!

Inside, you’ll find simple comforts to support your stay, including a camp stove, coffee maker, small refrigerator and microwave —ideal for easy meals and morning coffee. The cabin does not have indoor plumbing so no running water inside, but clean, potable water is provided for your stay. Outside the cabin, guests have access to a clean outhouse and a solar outdoor shower for a true back-to-nature experience. The Feather River is just a 10-minute walk from the cabin, making it easy to enjoy swimming, fishing, or riverside relaxation. Creekfront designer cabin on 8 acres with hot tub. The creek is year-round and perfect for dipping. Seclusion in nature yet 4 minutes to downtown Nevada City, and 15 min to rivers and lakes.
There are 4 bedrooms in the main house and an optional separate studio to rent. The main house has two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with a twin bed and a twin air mattress (if needed), and a room with a queen murphy bed. This allows 8 people max. There are 3 bathrooms.
For 9-11 guests, or if you just want extra space for a smaller party, you can rent the separate studio for $170/night plus $125 cleaning fee, plus tax. This is discounted from our regular rates. The studio is beautifully renovated with a queen bed, full kitchen, bathroom, and living area with sofa for a child or young adult to sleep on.
You have complete reign of the 8 acre property, including the hot tub, and private creekfront park with gazebo, fire pit, and horseshoe pit. Sometimes we rent out a studio on the property (or you can rent it-- see details above), but studio guests do not have access to acres of the property that are just for you. If you want total privacy, we can block out the studio from being rented for an additional $80/night, or you can rent it for $170/night plus $125 cleaning fee plus tax (see details above).
Pack and play, twin air bed, and dining table booster seat with tray are available. Please request the air bed before you arrive, and bring your own sheet for the pack and play. Air bed is usually needed if 8 guests are staying in the main home (if studio is not rented).
It can snow occasionally in the winter-- only about 10 days per year between Dec. or Jan. through March. Sometimes we can plow the driveway for longer-term stays. If not, you will either need snow chains and/or a 4WD vehicle to access the home. But-- we are happy to offer a more flexible cancellation policy for winter guests-- please just ask at the time of booking.
No parties or events, and please ask if you want to invite anyone to the home who is not in the guest count at booking.

What a special and amazing find nestled in the Sierra Foothills, just north of the Yuba River and the wonderful Nevada City.
The cabins are (enchantingly, rustically) fabulous... Adam (and company) are an utter delight... the trails are beautiful (and plentiful)... the views are majestic... and the peace, privacy, and serenity uplift the body, mind, soul, and spirit.
Highly (highly) recommended!

Weekend Trip to Lena's Landing- A Cozy Cabin
This was easily one of the best Hipcamp stays I’ve had. The tiny home is incredibly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully put together, with so many little touches that make the space feel welcoming and comfortable. She has clearly put a lot of care into the experience, from the amenities to the refreshments stocked in the fridge.
The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the friendly animals make it even more special. Being surrounded by the natural beauty near Portola was exactly the kind of quiet, rejuvenating reset anyone could ask seeking a retreat from their busy city lives.
She was also incredibly responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with, and I honestly think her pricing is more than fair for what she provides. She may call it “camping,” but this was easily the most luxurious camping I’ve ever done. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation!

Weekend Trip to Sunrise Farm
Staying at Sunrise Farm was absolute magic! From sunrises over the garden with the sunflowers towering high above the fruits and veggies, to the sun setting through the oak trees and stars appearing in the clear night sky, we had the most peaceful, lovely weekend. Upon arrival, Marcia and her girls were there to welcome us with warm smiles, and soon got to work cooking and delivering a scrumptious vegan dinner for my family. In the morning smoothies were delivered, all ingredients from her garden. Marcia is incredibly knowledgeable about the best swim spots on the river, and our days were spent swimming in emerald waters and lounging around on the warm smooth rocks. If this sounds too good to be true, it really was! We are still in an afterglow from the love and warmth provided to us at Marcia’s farm. I am sure you will enjoy it like we did!

4 nights at The Owls Nest
The cabin was absolutely perfect! The owl trim on the front of the cabin provides the right kind of feeling. Chairs outside to relax and enjoy the view and take in the ambiance. Inside the kitchenette had everything I needed and more. Bedroom was more than adequate. Slept well. Bathroom perfect. The entire vibe of the area was soothing and refreshing! The family stewarding the land are lovely! We will be coming back, for sure! And their dog Jack is a sweetheart he played with our dog, Maggie!

Weekend Trip to Golden Pine Campground, Paxton, Ca
This place a is new gem in the area. Nice facilities- showers, kitchen area, and great river access. Cool view of a small waterfall on the river from the room #1. Caught 3 Pike minnow in the river and paddle boarded it and saw dozens of
Good sized fish in the private beach area. Got up to 97 degrees so it was hot, luckily we set up a shade tent right on the water and enjoyed it. Was glad it cooled off to the 50s at night. Would absolutely recommend this place!

With kids
Marcia kept me well informed before I arrived. Once we arrived we were warmly welcomed and shown around by a colleague of hers. My kids were instantly engaged with the pets and the farm. Later they would get to know her kids and experience the farm and the swimming hole nearby with them. Marcia is a great host who is friendly and will check in with you about your needs. She offers nice meals and treats sourced from her farm. We felt very welcome and loved the land. Thank you Marcia.

Group trip
We rented Adam’s cabins for our Ultimate Frisbee teams retreat! It exceeded our expectations.
Adam’s campground is a whimsical escape tucked into the hills near the Yuba river. During our stay, Adam was easily accessible for any questions we had. He was eager for us to enjoy our stay and made an effort to help us feel at home.
The lower cabins were shaded and stayed cool during the summer heat. All cabins were comfortable and cozy. Our 25 person group fit comfortably among the cabins. We would love to come back!

Shamballa cabin is a gorgeous cabin palace amongst a peaceful land. Kitchen, full big beds w luxurious couches tucked into 200 acres of hiking water and woods. Down the road 5+ min drive is a creek & waterfall for swimming. Hot showers & water toilets 30 second walk away at main house. Thanks for a great time!

The Honeycomb Hut was wonderful! The best parts of camping (trees, nature, stars) without the worst parts (sleeping on the ground, being cold.) Awesome location close to town, but deep in nature. The hut is beautifully designed. We hope to stay again!

Group trip
My friends and I decided to reserve the Serenity Cabin for our annual camping trip and we had the best time! The pictures do not do any justice at all bc in person, the entire site, the entire location, the art, everything was just BEAUTIFUL!! The cabin was gorgeous! From the little kitchenette, to the bed to the chandelier! And we appreciated the fact that it had a fan bc it was super hot throughout the weekend.
The deck was perfect for us to vibe to our music and lay out to gaze under the stars.
The outdoor sink and table were a huge plus! Easy cleanup after we were done cooking!
I wanted to give a huge thank you to Rebecca and Chris— they were so sweet and kind to us. Rebecca provided us with areas we could visit to beat the heat. And they were always available for any questions we had.
We can’t wait to book here again!!!!

Adam has a very nice piece of land, it is a perfect setting for what he has done with it. You get a bit of everything the deep forest to open prairies. The cabins are very rustic, I only saw inside of the Geronimo, however the others appear to be equal in quality. I absolutely loved the group cabins beautiful! ( from the outside of course) If you enjoy just unplugging and being in nature this is where to go. Make sure you do bring bug repellent. Thank you, Adam for sharing your land, with individuals like myself who just need a break from the hustle and bustle.

It is always a joy to visit Copper Creek. I would stay here all summer if I could. Sutter and Taylor are wonderful hosts. My friends and I loved walking the property and visiting the horses. Lake Almanor is just 30 mins away. Can't wait to return!

Such a cute little getaway, we were so lucky to have the swimming hole to ourselves. It was beautiful and quiet. Everything was clean and prepared perfectly, they were very accommodating. The only thing I would mention is, it’s a little difficult to get into as it’s a very steep hill. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

5 nights at Coppercreek Camp
Peaceful and tranquil. Really love this place. Easy 10 minute drive to Lake Almanor. The cabins are rustic and minimal but have comfortable beds, a coffee machine, and air conditioning. Their a good step above tent camping. The weather is warm and sunny with a pleasant afternoon breeze and cool nights There is a beautiful creek on the property near enough to walk or drive but far enough away to avoid any pests. It is a very charming location set in a majestic pine forest. There are showers and running water restrooms and wash rooms with one private shower bath restroom. There is a large kitchen facility for group use.
