On site is a work in progress and you will see project sites not fully completed. We have a hammock veranda that is fully shaded and a great place to relax along the river. Miles of biking paths run on the road right by where we are situated and there is a nearby river rafting company if you want the white water experience. Most of our campers are road tripping, getting away from LA, or are looking for a stopover on their way to/from Yosemite, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, etc. We are in a desert climate – cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Portable heaters or fans with misting options are available for rent.

We are between Sequoia National Park (about an hour) and the Giant Sequoia National Monument (16 miles to groves up Hwy 190 and no entrance fee). LOCATION INFO Enjoy a rustic, no-fuss stay on our 20-acre working farm just 15 miles south of Bakersfield, with easy freeway access. Campsites sit along the pond - perfect for catch-and-release fishing, paddle boarding, or kayaking. We have a small area with farm animals (pigs, goats, sheep, peacocks and chickens) for you to enjoy. Expect a desert climate: hot summers, cold winters. Each site includes a small table, potable water spigot, picnic table, and fire pit (bring your own wood). All sites are BYO tent or car-camping with the exception of our one Glamping Site which includes a queen bed. Some have vehicle height limits (noted in site names), and cannot accommodate pop-ups or truck campers. Amenities include one shared indoor toilet and an outdoor hot/cold shower. There are 2 kayaks and 2 paddleboards that are free to use amongst all guests. We offer self check-in and you're welcome to arrive anytime after 1PM; checkout is 11AM. Please respect quiet hours after 10PM if arriving late. CAMP RULES No Pets – Our dogs roam freely and protect the farm and see other animals as threats. You will be asked to leave with no refund if you bring a pet. Quiet Hours: 10 PM–7 AM. If we receive complaints about noise, you’ll be asked to leave immediately. 1 Tent + 1 Car are permitted per Site, with the exception of Site 4 which allows 2 tents/2 cars. If you are a large group with multiple tents and families, you will need to book multiple sites. Each site has a maximum capacity, so if you put in 12 people, it will not show you all the sites available - put in 4 people and then you can pick which combination of sites you would like for your group. OrangeRay, home of Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary and Hospice was founded in 2007, when I left L.A. for the forest by the river to create, and to expand my shamanic pursuits. Being that Three Rivers was home to the socialist Kaweah Colony in the 1800's; which helped in the founding of Sequoia National Park; the area is rich in history. Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

Weekend Trip to Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond

We had an absolutely amazing camping trip at Autonomy Farms (Bakersfield Farm Animals & Pond)! From the moment we arrived, you could tell the campground is well cared for—clean, organized, and full of shaded areas that made it comfortable all day long. The pond is truly the highlight—beautiful, relaxing, and so much fun. Having free paddle boards and kayaks available took the experience to another level. Sitting by the water and listening to the fountain in the middle of the pond was incredibly peaceful—exactly what you want on a getaway. The farm atmosphere made it even more special. Being able to hear the animals and show them to the kids absolutely made their day. And Cleo, the working farm dog, completely stole our hearts! She brought so much joy, love, and honestly made us feel safe too—patrolling the grounds all night better than any security guard you could imagine. Some of our friends stayed in the Airbnb on the property, and it was the perfect cozy farmhouse-style cottage—comfortable, charming, and a great option if you want a mix of camping and indoor comfort. Overall, we all had an incredible time and made great memories. We highly recommend Autonomy Farms and will definitely be back. Easy 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The camper, the property, the animals and Wendi are all so wonderful, cannot recommend this stay enough. This was exactly the quiet reprieve we needed! Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer ❤️ Definitely go down to the river for a dip of the feet at least. And give the sweet kitties a scratch on the head for us! Thank you Wendi!!!!

Weekend Trip to The Squattage in the Sequoia National Forest!

The Squattage was a cute place to stay and so close to gorgeous trails! the owners put a lot of love and attention to detail in the cabin. They even provided an aluminum pan, tongs, and a pot had for cooking on the propane fire which we really appreciated! It's a nice mix of being in nature, but still being a part of a community with a great general store an easy walk down the street.

2 nights at The Squattage in the Sequoia National Forest!

The Squattage is the cutest little A-frame cabin I’ve ever been in! James is a great host and explained everything to us when we arrived. The lounge chairs outside were great to relax in after a long day of hiking! The location is great, close to the trail of 100 giants and the rest of Sequioa NP. Definitely recommend and hope to visit again soon!

We had an amazing stay at the Two Story Cabin The place is peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. Everything was well organized, clean, and exactly as described. A special thanks to Gary , he is such a kind and helpful host. He responded quickly, guided us clearly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. You can really feel that he cares about his guests. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a calm and unique experience. Would definitely love to come back again.

Weekend Trip to Spirit Walk - Private Retreat

The Playhouse was a sweet and cozy stay on John’s land. This was my first time in the Playhouse, having previously camped at the group site. The amenities are clean, easy to use, and well constructed. The Playhouse came well stocked. The views from each window inside the Playhouse were gorgeous, if you’re looking for a relaxing weekend inside. The shared kitchen is a fun space to commingle with other campers, if desired. We were able to check out the local creek that runs through his property, and have a lovely breakfast. I’d highly recommend visiting ant part of John’s property.

Gary was an excellent host. The ranch is absolutely incredible scenery, a perfect writing retreat! I was comfortable in the cabin I chose and I felt safe on the property. The camp has Gary’s installation art scattered throughout, a community center with shared kitchen and a large fire pit. There’s nice trails and easy access to the creek. Planning my next escape here as soon as I can! Thanks Gary!

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed staying at the Cottonwood cabin! It was a nice cozy space and the scenery was sooo beautiful! I got to enjoy my breakfast on a big rock by the river and it was the perfect way to start my day. The restrooms were really nice and well kept! Overall it was a super comfortable lodging experience.

It was a great experience coming here! A lot to do around and a good price for what you get. While the two story cabin was just two beds, the best part was the grounds that you get.

The trailer is nestled between an abundance of greenery and the A-Frame cabin.

Pictures of what the place is are on point, ypu have everything you could thing off, loved the eggs, you have acess to the river super close to Sequoia if that is something you want to do. Def a place to be free and enjoy nature, would def love to come back! Wendy is such a great host.

Absolutely awesome and unique place to stay. Wendi is genuinely such a wonderful host. Her animals are all absolutely lovely to have around. Loved staying in the little vintage trailer and really enjoyed getting to sit under the stars next to a little fire every night. Her spot is right on the river and I def recommend taking a dip and laying in the hammock as the sun rises. Location is great if you are planning on going into Sequoia National Park for some adventures too!
