Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off. 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. Had a great stay tent camping on the Holcomb ranch! Plenty of trees, views, and spots to explore or just hang out. The campsites are well maintained and spaced out from one another with access to individual fire pits and porta-potties. We were a group of 4 with 2 cars and 3 tents, and had more space on the site than we truly knew what to do with. We went mid- November and the first night was pretty cold with it getting just below freezing so make sure you're coming prepared. Special thanks to the camp manager for our stay, Ed -- he was great with prompt contact and instructions for arrival, friendly check ups and information about the site, guidelines, and the area.

We had a good time doing a girls camping trip. There was ample space between us and the other campers, there were lots of trees but also great clearing to see the sky, there was a firepit, picnic table, my dog enjoyed exploring the area, and they left water for us to put the fires out. They called to check-in that we were coming, stopped by our site to see how we were doing, and provided clear directions. Already recommended the site to other families! 10/10

The sites were decently far apart and camping in November was absolutely perfect. There weren't that many people around and the whole place was quiet. It's not the easiest road to traverse - mostly our dogs didn't like all the rocking. But overall, I would definitely come back - even if it were during the busy season. Our dogs absolutely loved being able to run around and play.

I was so thankful to find this spot. I was in the area for work for 2+ weeks, and as somebody that normally boondocks in forests I couldn't rationalize $100+ night rv resorts. Richard was quick to respond to our request to book, and provided all the information we needed to get there late in the night. We were surprised to have an extension cord for a 15a plug, which really was a nice bonus. The property is secure, and I felt comfortable leaving our rig while I was away at work during the day. We didn't have the opportunity to meet Richard directly, but he was super quick to respond to questions I had while there. We were also surprised to learn we could do laundry on site. The dryer is free, and the washer is 85 cents (3 quarters and a dime). The only downside is that the alley going down to the property is VERY tight and steep. We didn't have a problem getting down, but coming back up we had a clearance issue coming back onto the street. There's a slight dip where the alley levels down to the street and we had to use traction boards and our leveling blocks to keep our rearend high enough to clear our poop tube. If you have low clearance, just be aware and prepared to take some extra steps on your way out. I read some reviews about trucks being parked in the alley while folks were doing work on the property, but I can't complain because the guys working were always super quick to get their things moved out of the way when I was coming and going. Overall, a great experience

I have stayed in the communal area twice in the last 6 months with a large group of women and both times it was wonderful. Since my visit in June they have added two more flushing toilets to this area and a FANTASTIC outdoor shower with hot water. We hiked the campground and there is such a great variety of options for all kinds of camping. I would say if you are in a HUGE rig, you might be white knuckling it on the drive in, but once you are here, its simply glorious. Beautiful sunsets, fabulous views and the staff is FANTASTIC!! I can't wait to go back

Went as part of a group at the Oak Grove which was set under large oak trees and was nice and shaded. Lots of land to take walks and explore. Met the goats a few times as they roam free through the property. Bathrooms with flush toilets are clean and unique hot showers also. My sty was beginning of November. Not too cold not too hot. Enjoyed the stay!
