The year round pond and creek along with level terrain make this a rare gem in Nevada County. A 5 acre parcel, but feels much larger as it is bordered by a couple hundred acre cattle/horse ranch and Wolf Creek. I love my little slice of paradise and look forward to sharing it with you. I live on site about 100 yards down the hill from the site and the terraced terrain make it quite private. I am readily available to answer any questions or help how ever I can, but am also just as happy giving my guests their space.

Welcome to Coco, the 1970 Overlander 27’ Airstream! We have tried to preserve her 50-year-old charm as much as possible and are still in the process of restoring her to her original glory. Our family of 4 humans, two dogs, and one guinea pig lived in Coco while our house was being built. It was quite an adventure! Coco is nestled in the foothills of the Sierras on our semi-private 4-acre property. Easy access to Grass Valley, Nevada City, and the Yuba River. Coco the Airstream is fully functional with a kitchen and bathroom. There is one full-ish size bed that sleeps two comfortably in the bedroom area, and the couch can fold into one twin-sized bed. We are located about 15 minutes to town and 10 to the nearest grocery store. Coco the Airstream shares the property with a private family of four humans and two dogs in a house at the top of the hill. My parents are full time RVers and often stay in the other RV spot on our property throughout the year when they are taking a break from traveling. The two dogs are very friendly but may bark to greet you upon your arrival. Show more

There is the 'MUST SEE' yuba river nearby neavada city and grass valley, Greenhorn creek that runs into Rollins Lake very close to the property. Also the American River is another nearby beauty worth exploring. There is so much nature and beauty around our area. Frolic (property name) is a wild place with nature running the show. It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

Warm and inviting, Sage is a relaxing, modern spot for people heading up to Kirkwood for skiing or for nature, lakes, and fishing. Our place offers a fully operational commercial style communal outdoor kitchen, a small stage, huge redwood, slab dining table, and 14 acres of camping area. It also offers a beautiful 8 foot stock tank hot tub with the freshest clean snowpack water. So clean that it shares an aquifer with Crystal Geyser bottled water. These are all communal spaces. Please keep this in mind when booking, and be prepared to meet some great folks. Be kind to one another and enjoy the experience. Christine and family are the best hosts! There property is well tended, the camper is adorable, and the energy there is warm and welcoming. The night I stayed there was a beautiful but intense electrical storm and Christine generously, and promptly made sure I was safe and comfortable. I highly recommend Cedar Glen for a decompression respite while you’re sight seeing or adventuring around Grass Vally, Nevada City and surrounding area.

This property is a hidden gem, it is so beautiful and Bobby is very welcoming. My husband and I were looking for a quick getaway for a night. Like the description says, bring you snacks. That’s exactly what we did, this spot has everything else you need. Everything from cooking on the open fire to the spa was a great experience. We will definitely be back for another glamping trip!

Weekend Trip to Frolic Pond Cabin

The Nest on Frolic Meadows was fantastic. It is very bare bones, but provided everything we needed and was exactly what we were looking for. There is no electricity or WiFi signal, so be prepared to get off grid and just enjoy the serenity of nature. There is a compostable toilet just right up the path, close to the cabin, which was totally fine. There was a cute little tree frog that I had to move away when using it. You will be in nature here, so you will also have to appreciate all the wildlife around you. Speaking of wildlife, there were over 16 species of birds in the area that my Merlin app picked up. There is a small area for storage in the unit that is separate from the sleeping area. The double or queen bed was enough space for my 11-year old and me to sleep comfortably. We brought blankets, but it was so hot this past weekend that we didn’t really need them. The cabin cooled off nicely at night with the sleeping area window open. Matia was a great communicator and made the directions very clear; it was easy to find, and I am glad we did! The pond right out the door from the cabin provided; it had a nice temperature for swimming and it was good fishing. There were both large mouth bass and bluegills. In our short stay, we caught two bass and three bluegills. There is only one other property bordering the pond. There were some folks enjoying it, but only for a couple hours. For the most part, we had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommended!

This campsite was awesome! I did tent camping and Bobby has several secluded campsites to choose from. The communal area is beautiful, functional, and inviting. Bobby is an involved and friendly host. There’s a large fire pit and the commercial kitchen is great. This was the easiest camping I’ve ever done and I would absolutely come back again. This area is home to many fun hikes, lakes, and near a cool state park with a cave tour.

It’s the perfect amount of off the beaten path (quiet, amazing stars at night!) yet not too removed from everyday comforts (kitchen/fridge, bathroom, electricity). Great swimming holes on the Yuba are about 30 min drive away.

2 nights at Peaceful Pond Retreat

We had our annual Camping trip with our 4 & 9 year old grandsons. It was a perfect spot for us. They lived the fishing and frogs! We spent time in the canoe and on the paddle board. The trailer was also a great refuge from the heat and had all the amenities we needed to make it cozy and easy. You will love the peaceful pond! We also made a journey to the Yuba (close) so there are plenty of fun things to do here. Thanks for being such a responsive host Nicole!

We 10000% recommend staying here🤎🌲 if you’re looking for a place that feels straight out of a movie—dog friendly, peaceful, remote, and surrounded by nature singing around you. From the moment we booked, Bobby was an amazing host—warm, attentive, and super communicative. He knew we wouldn’t have signal, so he made sure to be there right on time to guide us in. When we arrived, he gave us a full tour and made it clear everything on the property was for us to enjoy. We felt welcome and at home every moment. The open-air kitchen in the forest is pure magic, and it has everything you could ever need, from pans to spices. One of our favorite moments was connecting to his Spotify and playing our music while cooking under the trees. There’s always a fire going— perfect for s’mores, deep talks and stargazing 💫 The place is incredibly dog-friendly🐶 We have two Australian Shepherds who were allowed off-leash the whole time. They had the best time! During the day, we hiked and explored. At night, we soaked in the jacuzzi right outside our room—perfect temperature, peaceful vibes. Before leaving, Bobby recommended Silver Lake to continue our adventure. And something really special—he helped me find a nature souvenir (a beautiful branch!) for my travel tradition. Truly one of our most memorable stays. We’ll be back! Thank you, Bobby.
