We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy.
PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property. He will provide instructions.
TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Please let us know prior to arrival if you are interested in a scheduled tasting during your stay! We can provide a tasting if we have the proper staff during your visit. GETTING TO VILLA MACALA: The road up to Villa Macala is a dirt road uphill, all vehicles fair well, we attempt to keep the road maintained as well as possible, after heavy rains it is a bit more bumpy but safe. Drive slow!

Hideout Mountain Lodge is a peaceful retreat tucked away in the hills of Santa Ysabel, just over an hour from San Diego and a couple of hours from Los Angeles. Spread across 40 acres, the property offers a variety of places to stay — from remodeled cabins with fireplaces and private decks, to vintage trailers, campsites, and RV spots with full hookups and views of Lake Henshaw.
This is the kind of place where you slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the landscape. Guests gather around the community firepit, take walks through the oaks, or just relax on a porch and listen to the birds.
On weekends, you can wander over to Josie’s Hideout Saloon, our on-site bar and restaurant, known for its live music and western character.

The full amenities, were a plus. The fridge was great, no need for ice refills. Wifi, stove, microwave, and shower/toilet came in handy, as did the heating(40° temps). Dark sky viewing was excellent, and made viewing Jupiter and the total lunar eclipse with my telescope, amazing. Close proximity to Julian is great.

Nice and quiet, Tammy was very friendly and hospitable. It can get chilly at night even if it’s warm during the day, bringing extra blankets would be a good idea, i appreciated having mine. Thank you!

We loved our weekend stay at The Bluebirds Nest cabin. The place was very clean and comfortable. The temperatures got down to the 30’s at night and wood burning fireplace kept us warm and cozy.

We loved visiting Vicki's land! The tent was a perfect size for my husband, dog, and I. The grounds had beautiful views, trails, and the other camping sites well spaced out. I would definitely recommend camping here and would love to return again soon!

Very nice campsite. It was very quiet, secluded, and far enough from the other sites to feel like we were there on our own. The area had everything we needed (showers, nice restroom, communal kitchen utensils) that made it very convenient. Ron was also very nice and helpful the whole time.

I loved it here! Morgan was so accommodating. The cabin had everything needed (and more). I decided to stay another night while I was there because of how great the area is. I was able to go to Big Bear to hike and eat for an afternoon, and Lake Arrowhead the next day had I chosen to.
Working a stressful job in LA and having this big cabin that has a great fireplace, wood, heaters (and AC) and the bed and comforter were a dream (I even have a sleepnumber at home and I was not dying to get back to it).
This was the best solo trip with my furry creature and so needed!

This was a great find. Private and cozy. Very spacious yurt tent with two beds and heater, table n chairs in the tent. Plenty of space. Kept warm in January. Our campsite had a hot tub and in ground mineral springs cool tub. Hammock, bonfire pit, tables n chairs already set up. Felt nice and secluded. Private setting. Definitely would come back again. We had an amazing stay at Cabin #10. It was very clean when we arrived and appreciated how fully stocked it was with appliances, plates, silverware. I cant recommend this hipcamp more. I am so glad that I stayed here. Each site was very private, and the soaking tub was perfect. You have full control over the temperature, and it can get HOT so be careful! The canvas tent was nice, and the bed was comfortable.
The host was very responsive with anything that I needed.
Highly recommend!

I had a great time at hideout Mountain. The airstream was well equipped and I had everything I needed to cook, relax, and stay warm. The Outlook near the site is gorgeous, and I spent most of my mornings looking at the view. Also enjoyed Josie’s hideout saloon and found the service to be really friendly and the vibe to be really nice. Live music was a great touch.
