Just returned from an incredible stay at the Welsh Grizzly Campsite, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful setting, and the attention to detail that makes this place truly special. The site is beautifully maintained, with spacious pitches and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We opted for the back in site and everything felt thoughtfully laid out and well cared for. What really sets Welsh Grizzly apart is the atmosphere — relaxed, friendly, and perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers looking to disconnect and soak up some nature. We loved exploring the nearby trails and coming back to a peaceful evening under the stars. Can’t wait to return — this place is an absolute gem!

Weekend Trip to Welsh Grizzly Camp
We just returned from a weekend at this incredible little campsite, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate spot to truly unwind, this is it. Nestled away from the crowds, it felt like our own private slice of nature. The site was thoughtfully laid out – clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by trees that offered both shade and privacy. The site was perfect for evening chats under the stars, and we even heard owls hooting at night. What really stood out was the attention to detail: a level spot for our 22 foot trailer, ample space, and even a nice picnic table. It’s clear the hosts care deeply about the experience they’re providing. We chose the back in site (#1) that would easily accommodate a larger trailer than ours. If you need more space choose the pull through site (#2). Most of the site is covered in gravel and both campsites have perfectly placed electric and water hookups. ATT Cell service was only able to be accessed down the road. Whether you’re a seasoned camper or just want a quiet retreat for the weekend, this place is a total win. We’ll absolutely be back!

In recent history, a multi-cultural group of community members formed the Konkow Partnership to attempt to hold, steward, and preserve the wilderness that survives here. We hope to see you real soon. Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

This property is a true off-grid experience. There is no power. If you need lights, please bring battery powered or solar powered lights or your own portable generator and power bank. There are solar lights at the tree-house and on the trail to the campsite. Being off-grid means that there will be dust, leaves, bugs & and dirt because those are all present in nature. We keep the treehouse clean, but this is in a forest. There will be maple-leaves and pine leaves that fall on the outside table at the Treehouse. This is a natural forest environment. We want the forest to do forest things. On the property there are 3 hammocks setup in the shade of Maple trees. Sunset views and ripe blackberries this time of year add to the off-grid experience! There are also trails to around the property to explore. Amazing sunset views and cool quiet mornings provide a calming environment. Come enjoy the healing peace and quiet of the forest. We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There are 2 Indian Casinos & Hotels in Oroville, as well as 2 golf ranges - and all with in 20 minutes of the camp site. The college town of Chico is about 30 minutes outside of Oroville. If you want to explore farther, Butte Mountain range and the city of Paradise, CA is 45 minutes away. We can't wait for you to come visit!

You reach our four acre property after a stunning drive along a scenic highway. In the winter and spring everything is blanketed in green that gives way to wildflowers and golden hills in the summer. We are located two miles from the Lake Oroville Lime Saddle launch ramp where you can find spots to swim or launch your boat for a fun day at the lake. Hiking trails and a variety of outdoor activities are available nearby. Table Mountain State recreation area, a great place to view wildflowers and waterfalls in the spring, is five miles away. Take a drive up highway 70 along the Scenic Feather River and view the lake as well as the majesty of the canyon. We are just 15 - 20 minutes from towns in three directions so restaurants, museums and shopping are all within an easy drive. At the top of our property you will find a grass volleyball court, and a batting cage to keep you busy while you are at your campsite. Other outdoor games are also available. The views of the valley at sunset are spectacular. The lower portion of our property is home to a seasonal creek that supports wild blackberry bushes as well as other wild plants and flowers. The property is home to numerous trees as well. The blackberries are usually ripe for a couple of weeks from late June to early July and are delicious. The wild grapes usually ripen in September. Obviously I can't control when the fruit ripens, but you are welcome to help yourself if it is ripe when you are visiting. We have 4 large sites with full hook ups as well as space for smaller trailers if you are traveling as a group and need some extra space. The blackberries have thorns. The area is rural so naturally we have wildlife, including bears, bobcats, mountain lions, deer and rattlesnakes. While we rarely see any of our furry friends you should be aware that they do wander through from time to time. We also have dogs. They have collars to keep them away from your space, but if you wander the property be aware they do too. We are located on the corner of Pentz / Highway 70. They are not busy roads, particularly in the evening, but they do have a fair amount of traffic in the daytime. Overall the area is very quiet and peaceful. Please help us respect our neighbors by abiding by quiet hours.

Some of the cabins have heat/AC. We have tent sites available with picnic tables and can accommodate dry-camping RVs. We are still working on installing RV hook-ups. May through October there is a bath and shower house with hot water and flush toilets. Propane fire pits are available for rent. We have an ice machine on in the summer months located by our Main Lodge. The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and open sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family! Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild! The town of Greenville is located about 5 minutes from our property and offers a grocery store, Dollar General, gas station with mini mart, and wonderful food trucks. Turner Beach At Lake Almanor is a privately owned vacant lakefront lot. The property is wide enough to accommodate 3 RV's/camp trailers end to end, ensuring no blocked views of the lake. You will be camping along Lake Almanor's East Shore on your own private campground instead of "combat camping" in the popular public campgrounds nearby. Additionally, the property can accommodate numerous smaller vans and tents. We have 2 mooring buoys and a large dock. (Dock may no longer be in the water after September) There is a sani-hut potty which is maintained/cleaned weekly. The property is located between the lake and the highway, so there will be road noise. Some guests have been bothered by the traffic and some have not. We have 2 SUP boards, 3 kayaks, and a canoe as well as a 5-person pedal boat that can be borrowed while renting our beach. Doing so will be at your own risk and you are required to wear personal floatation devices (lifejackets). Lifejackets are not provided, so you will need to bring your own. We ask that you please respect our toys and take care not to damage them or lose any parts/pieces. ALL RENTERS MUST TAKE THEIR OWN TRASH WITH THEM WHEN THEY DEPART No Fireworks, No firearms, No drugs allowed. Dogs are allowed and we do have a 10 x 10 x 6 kennel onsite. Campers are responsible for minding their pet's safety, politeness, and picking up their poo-poo's. Marshmallow roasting/cooking fires must be kept small and are only allowed in the provided fire ring. There is some small firewood onsite, and if you need more you can purchase nearby at Almanor Landscape Supply or bring your own. The early mornings are tranquil, and the sunsets are STUNNING! We hope you enjoy your stay! **Please understand, if you private message us asking to pay us directly to avoid the HIPCAMP fees, the answer will be a resounding NO! This is the platform we have chosen for our beach rental and we are not willing to skirt around it. Thank you for your understanding. :) **Thank you everyone for a great 2025 season. Enjoy the serene environment as nature continues to flourish. - Ongoing Restoration: We’re committed to rejuvenating the land and ensuring your experience remains as wonderful as ever. ================= The Maple Creek Ranch and Tree Farm has been family owned and operated since 1934. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Sweden, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years. There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence. The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north. While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking *The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV. Site 1 is best for RV's. Site 2 can accommodate smaller RV's.

This property lies at the base of the Sierra Mountains, approximately 9 miles north of Doyle, CA on the west side of US Route 395. Access to the ranch road is from US Route 395. Its elevation starts at 3800 feet and rises higher than 5,000 feet. The lower half is rolling high chaparral and the upper half is steep with forest land that was burned in the 2021 Dixie Fire. There are still plenty of live trees left. This ranch lies in Deer Hunting Zone X6b. Lassen National Forest is on the west boundary of this ranch, with a gate that allows access to the national forest. The 395 Ranch boasts incredible views for nearly 75 miles. The ground is primarily decomposed granite so mud never becomes a problem. Wind can be strong when weather systems approach. The campsites are very basic with no toilet facilities (at this time) but water is available for cooking and washing dishes. An outdoor enclosed shower is available as well. At this time (summer) the water is naturally warm from the pipe’s exposure to the sun and hot water from a flash heater will be available in the near future. Tents can be erected almost anywhere on the property, but campfires are strictly prohibited until the rainy/cold season. Water and an electric hookup is available next to the barn for RVs and travel trailers at an additional cost. Sewer service is not available. There is also an older but nice three-bedroom, one bath home that is also available for short term rentals. It is heated during the winter by two wood burning stoves and cooled comfortably during the summer with a swamp cooler. The rent for this house is based on the season, ranging from $169-$229 nightly plus extra fees for pets or more than three people. Visitors of the past have found hiking, looking for artifacts and rocks to be fun activities. It’s also been an amazing place for stargazing and using telescopes. Others simply enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the peace, quiet and views. High quality campfire wood is available for $12.00 a bundle.
