Located in Dos Rios California! Where the Eel flows North 70 miles creating a river vortex that returns back to the river confluence. A rarity in the Northern hemisphere. An awesome location for a mountain retreat with excellent views from camp as well as views of the lovely Eel River from the top of the property. Easily accessible from Hwy 101 only 13 miles along the Covelo Road Hwy 162 to Dos Rios. Where the Eel and Russian rivers converge. From Dos Rios and the River it is a 2 mile scenic drive along the Dos Rios Laytonville Road to the property., The entry is right off the main Road. The road continues on and makes a northbound loop and meets the Hwy 101 at Laytonville. The road is well maintained and any vehicle can travel the 9 mile trip which takes about 30 minutes driving moderately. This area offers great mountain biking, days on the river, hikes along the new designated state hiking trail along the Dos Rios railroad tracks. Trips to the Mendocino National Forest, bird watching and wildlife in general to see, there are many indigenous species in this microclimate of two rivers. Many backroads and adventures to travel and have. Currently able to host two large sites and up to 10 visitors. The Eel River is only five minutes down the road with dozens of glorious swimming holes.

Large, approximate 1/4 acre, mostly forested with nooks and crannies for private sleeping and tents. 2 large level areas. Raven Haven 2 is smaller and closer to my home, but still very private and quiet with more Foxes and Ravens. Great for tents, vans, and smaller RVs. Beautiful, instantly warming, fire safe propane fire pit provided for heat. Wood fire pit also available when it is safe. You must be self contained. Haul it in , haul it out, please. Water and electricity available. Many forest animals and Ravens living on the property. Your well behaved dog will not require a leash at Raven Haven 1. Sorry, due to the tiny goldfish pond, no dogs at Raven Haven 2, small well behaved dogs on leash is a possibility. Really great for campers wanting to relax in the Redwoods, not so great for loud partying. These are not party camps. It is in the forest so the mostly Redwood canopy provides some protection from the weather. Close to many beaches and parks. Albion is 7 miles south of Mendocino and 15 moles south of Fort Bragg. Very comfortable camp site. The river is about a mile or so down the road but you need to drive there. There is nothing to do in the town and no stores / gas nearby so plan accordingly. The swimming hole is beautiful and very safe.

Joel helped us guide our rig into the site and made sure we had everything we needed. ✅ Pros: • Full Hookups: 30 Amp power, water, and sewer connections available. • Scenic Hangout Spots: Two platforms for relaxing • Comfortable Setup: Outdoor furniture, low tables, umbrellas for shade, and solar-powered path lighting for nighttime navigation. • Nature Trail: 1-mile loop hike on the property with 400' elevation gain — perfect for a short walk. • Quiet & Serene: Very peaceful at night • Reliable WiFi: Strong connection via fiber internet • Proximity to Towns: Mendocino and Fort Bragg are about 40 minutes away via a beautiful scenic drive. • Recycling & Trash: Convenient receptacles provided at the site. • LP Fire Pit: Clean and easy to use, with a donation box if using their propane (we brought our own). • Helpful Hosts: Joel and Pam were responsive via text and regularly checked in. • Local convenience store: Located .8 mile north of camp ⚠️ Cons: • Back-In Only: The site requires backing in, though space is available to turn around and help is typically offered. • Cell Service: Very limited • Hookup Location: RV hookups are on the opposite side than standard, though extension hoses and cables are provided. • Mosquitos: Notable presence near and after sunset — bring bug spray. Verdict: We had a fantastic and relaxing stay at Hubcap Ranch. . Highly recommended.

Our big group had a great time on Roger’s campsite! It was nice to have the whole place to ourselves. We really appreciated the kitchen and sink setup and the tables and chairs already available. The composting toilet is nicer than using an enclosed porta potty. The proximity to the river was a major plus, we really enjoyed making the short drive to the river where we spent most of the day. The river was very beautiful and is fairly easy to get to from the campsite. One thing to know is that the campsite is on a hill. There is a good amount of flat space but just know that the more tents you have, the more you’ll have to take up some of the flat space near the kitchen/hang out area.

Flat space for parking our van which was great. We were greeted with a camp table, two chairs, firewood, a little basket of niceties, and string lights. A fire ring kept us warm. And we had the place to ourselves… very private. Our shy dog loved it! The host was sweet and accommodating.

Higher Ground provided exactly the peace and solitude we were searching for! It’s a short drive to some epic river spots, and in the heat of the day the shade cover keeps camp the perfect temperature for rest and relaxation. The outdoor kitchen set up was beautiful, providing a great view and gentle breeze while you cook. Raji keeps the camp tidy and tasteful, with just enough lighting to welcome us to camp after dark, but not enough to impede the epic stars at night! We would visit again and highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this site. It’s off the beaten path and feels like you have a whole mountainside to yourself to explore. It is challenging to park due to the incline but not impossible. Raji stopped by to say hello and chat at for a bit. It was great meeting him and seeing the potential for this site to grow. You have a huge area to yourself with a restroom. And if you wake up early enough to hike up the hill you can watch the sunrise! 🌅 Highly recommend to those who love staying in places where most people wouldn’t and aren’t afraid of a trek to get there.

We had such a good time laughing at all the noises the ravens made for us:) This site does not have a toilet, but we visited Van Damme SP just 15 minutes away which has flushable toilets! Everything was prepared for our giant rv! There was nothing for us to do and very easy to get in and out. Knowing now that this site exists, it would be great to spend a few nights here in the future. It is nestled in the middle of redwoods with a fast running creek near by.
