We discovered Hipcamp by accident while looking for a place to car camp ourselves and instantly fell in love with the community and shared sense of adventure and camaraderie not found in hotels. While you’ll feel miles away from it all the second you drive through the private gate, the quirky Western/biker town is just a couple of miles away. Whether you’re looking to stay “put” or your plans include adventuring during the day and hitting the bars at night, you’ll be centrally located.
We’re surrounded by horse properties, so it’s not unusual to see riders out. In fact, if you’re lucky, you might even spot one going through the Starbucks drive-through! We’re within a 5-minute drive of both Dove Valley and Rancho Mañana golf courses, quite a few places to rent ATVs, and amazing hikes ranging from short and easy to climbing Black Mountain—which can be seen from just about anywhere on our property—and everything in between. Oh, and did I mention the temperatures are 5–8 degrees cooler than Phoenix?
Whether you’re escaping city life locally, visiting for a specific event, or traveling from out of state, this is a great retreat to get away from it all and go home recharged!

• The landscape varies with the season—there won’t be green grass in the summer
• Please keep pets away from cactus—they bite!
• We’re located in a desert neighborhood, so please respect the nearby homes. My house and neighbors house will be in view from your campsite.

We also have a stationary 35-foot fifth wheel with an enclosed patio area. We discovered Hipcamp by accident while looking for a place to car camp ourselves and instantly fell in love with the community and shared sense of adventure and camaraderie not found in hotels. While you’ll feel miles away from it all the second you drive through the private gate, the quirky Western/biker town is just a couple of miles away. Whether you’re looking to stay “put” or your plans include adventuring during the day and hitting the bars at night, you’ll be centrally located.
We’re surrounded by horse properties, so it’s not unusual to see riders out. In fact, if you’re lucky, you might even spot one going through the Starbucks drive-through! We’re within a 5-minute drive of both Dove Valley and Rancho Mañana golf courses, quite a few places to rent ATVs, and amazing hikes ranging from short and easy to climbing Black Mountain—which can be seen from just about anywhere on our property—and everything in between. Oh, and did I mention the temperatures are 5–8 degrees cooler than Phoenix?
Whether you’re escaping city life locally, visiting for a specific event, or traveling from out of state, this is a great retreat to get away from it all and go home recharged!

This was a perfect place to stay. It was very quiet and very private but yet super close to everything. There’s a handful of beautiful, quiet, and friendly chickens in the yard to appreciate.
We were even able to do a quick load of laundry while we were there. These hosts are the best!

Super cute space and very gracious host. The train going through yard,(not really, less than 1 block though, but felt like so close you could touch it). The horn blew THREE separate times in sequence in the middle of the night. For a convenient, safe, quick stop, it fit the bill. For any true rest and sleep you would be very frustrated.

Margarita Ranch is such a unique and beautiful place to stay! It was the perfect introduction to the Phoenix area for us. So many huge, beautiful saguaros, super dark at night to see the sky lit up with stars, and the friendliest pigs, horses, and donkeys to pet. Macy was a super communicative and hospitable host. We even found a wonderful hike to do after we checked out that was an under 15 minute drive from the site— Jewel of the Creek Preserve. We had such a great time.

Tent camping right next to emus, where I’ll recommend! Enjoyed a two day stay here. People were quiet and kind, spaces are all nicely dispersed, and the location was great for us to avoid the hustle and bustle but enjoy a weekend exploring all around Phoenix.
If you can, recommend bringing your own campfire ring. Not all spots have fire pits.
Water spigots all over the campground, and that was great as well!

I enjoyed my two nights here and was able to get my 25' travel trailer in and out with out issue. Shawn and the family were friendly but mainly stayed towards towards the front of the lot (in the house) and gave me plenty of privacy in the back. Their dog seemed sweet but they kept her inside so she didn't interact with my sometimes excitable pair who invaded her space. Overall I'd recommend and would stay here again when passing through Phoenix.
