Mountain View Retreat
Second time here and will be back again. By far the nicest place to stop for Brisbane - short drive to the city but worlds away. Samford is a beautiful place with many cafes, to which Jo’s place is close. Add grassy paddocks, rolling hills and a campfire in a fire pit and you get the ideal place to stay and relax.
Jo is incredibly welcoming and friendly. We just love it here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Joanne’s and would definitely stay again! Such a great part of Brisbane and for us so close to everything we need. A lovely peaceful setting that has been perfectly leveled up to save you time.

Mountain View Retreat is ideally located for exploring the Samford Valley. Quiet, spacious and private, backing onto a walking trail, with dogs and farm animals that are friendly and engaging, Mountain View Retreat is minutes from Samford Village, and about 20 minutes drive from Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo, with many other nature spots for hiking, walking, birding or kayaking nearby. Joanne is a great host, very helpful when we arrived and any time during our stay, and the site was perfect for us and our van. Picturesque, with views of the lush bush, great place to watch the local birds and have an outdoor fire with firewood conveniently available to purchase on site. I’d stay again, for sure - it was relaxing and a real break. Our first Hipcamp experience, and we are now spoiled.

What a beautiful place to stay. Greeted by friendly dogs, and a lamb coming to say hello, and chooks and geese. Jo was very helpful and welcoming. We would absolutely stay here again

Beautiful property close to Samford village and Brisbane. Electricity and water were included and Jo was super helpful setting everything up. Couple of Labradors made sure we were safe 🙂 great spot l would recommend and stay again. Thanks Jo!

Lovely level spot for caravans. Lovely green grass and looking out to the tree lines. Walking distance to Samford Village. Creek nearby to take a dip. Friendly accommodating host. Peaceful and relaxing.

Joanne is such a lovely host! Our toddlers loved visiting the chickens, duck, geese and horses and it was such a treat taking the little walk to the creek. Great flat site and fire pit too, with easy access to Samford time.

It’s a 20min walk into the village but you feel like your miles away from anything.
Very quiet and peaceful with great views of the mountain especially at sunset.

Wonderful place and we will be back again. Lovely host, great level spot, fire pit, power no issues (some earlier reviews said they had issues with the distance- all fixed up, but bring your Amphibian or whatever 10-15A adapter). You can fill your tanks of water once you need more albeit be respectful as they are on tank water only.
Our two dogs had a ball with the labs, whom stayed with us every day just lazing around mostly.

This was our first time camping with our young daughter and dog. This is a beautiful little spot just outside brisbane, with a nice riverside walk into Samford village (20-30min). Jo was very helpful and check in/out was easy. There are 2 labs on the property that enjoy a visit and very easy going with kids/other dogs. Kinda made me want to move to Samford. Thanks again Jo.

Everything as advertised, a lovely spot :) we stayed at the top campsite (there are 2 on the property) to catch the sunsets and it was glorious. Joanne was friendly, accommodating and helpful, and in no way intrusive. We had a great time! Thanks for having us Joanne & family.

Great location both as a picturesque setting and being close enough to Brisbane for easy access. Good level dry site particularly after all the months of recent rain. Two friendly black lab custodians (B1 and B2 - Blackdog 1 Blackdog 2), who offered a wet nose and a beautiful temperament for easy petting. Shame our plans didn’t allow for more time to explore this area.

Joannes place was beautiful. It was very tranquil and extremely well maintained with a beautiful creek just at the back of property. Joanne was a fantastic host. She was there to welcome you and made sure you settled in. Samford town is a nice walk or bike ride through a track. If I could give Joanne 6 stars I would. Thanks Joanne for sharing your lovely place it is truly a great place to relax.

Joanne was a great host and the area provided was excellent, just needs a little levelling but I'm sure Jo will see this be done in the near future. There is little or no road noise as the block is at the end of a culdesac. Nearby Samford is a lovely township with everything you need (except a DUMP POINT), the closest dump point is Dayboro, 23km away. Ferny Grove and Keperra are also good shopping centres. The Mt Glorious Coffee Shop is also worth a visit.
Joanne was willing to help in any way to help us enjoy our stay
We highly recommend this spot for a quiet getaway.

Highly recommend Mountain View Retreat . Its lovely and peaceful and the trail network that is so close to the property is a must. Having had loads of rain recently it was deep enough to swim. Joanne was a warm and friendly host and showed me her chickens, geese and baby chicks as well as the lowdown of whats in the area to see (and theres plenty). Great spot to camp and enjoy this truly magical area. Highly recommend.
