This is an RV parking spot in the Heritage District of the Town of Gilbert. The Heritage District is home to our sweet little downtown area, a bike trail along the canal, splash pad, parks, restaurants, breweries, cocktail lounges, bars, and shopping. This area is known for being safe, friendly, and very walkable. The RV spot is a 0.3 mile walk to a fish taco shop, a cocktail lounge and an art gallery, 0.4 mile walk away from the Water Tower Park, the nearest ice cream shop and a historic BBQ restaurant, 0.5 mile walk to a performing arts venue, a dog friendly brewery with a dog “spaw”, and an arcade! We love it here and think you will too.Welcome to the Heritage District of Gilbert. This area is know for being safe, friendly and walkable. When you arrive, you will back in through an RV gate onto a crushed granite, level pad. The pad is 22 feet wide and 40 feet long, perfect for RVs with slide-outs and patios. When you are ready, you are free to use the 50 amp electric hookups, hot and cold water spigots, and city sewage hookups. We also have great Wi-Fi that reaches the pad just fine. To one side of you, you will have a tall block wall that separates the property from the neighbor. On the other side of you, you will see a spacious backyard and the owners house. And to the back of you there is about another 40 feet of backyard, perfect if you have a larger rig that might be longer than the pad. Street parking is available. Once you are settled, take a short walk to downtown where you can explore places to eat, drink and have fun! Train alert! Gilbert was once the Hay Shipping Capital of the World. Cool, right? Well, part of being any sort of shipping capital is a means to ship. The Union Pacific Railway is right outside of our neighborhood. The train goes by at least 4 times a day with one (sometimes two) of those times being at night. It is federal law that the conductors honk their horn at main roads and we are right on the corner of Gilbert Road and Elliot Road. Chicken Alert! I am the accidental owner of 7 chickens. They have a very nice coop that they sleep in at night, but during the day I mostly let them run around the yard and eat bugs and grass (I don’t let them eat my garden but they do). If you have a dog that wants chicken snacks, you are afraid of chickens, or just don’t like them I am totally happy to coop them up for you, and they really don’t mind either. Attention pet owners! This spot is perfect for you and your animals. Open up your RVs door for your pet to run around the backyard safely and securely. The backyard is shared with the owners, but we only have a cat that stays indoors exclusively. There is a very dog friendly brewery with a doggie “spaw” and a small play area walking distance from the RV spot. Travel nurses, snow birds, or anyone interested in staying long term! Loved our stay here. Walked to downtown Gilbert every night, which is such a happening place. Justine has created an awesome RV spot, the setup is better than many parks. 5 stars!

This site is near a fun downtown district. The site itself is safe and secure. We were also happy to get our dog in an off-leash area. An amazing stay & hope to stay again in the future.

We had a great experience with Justine and Adam! They are super nice and very accommodating. As another reviewer mentioned, the chickens, as cute and funny as they are, did leave droppings everywhere. We didn't want them to be confined to their pen, as we were the ones imposing on their territory, but it is something to be aware of. We just checked our shoes before entering the camper and swept our rug off regularly. The trains are the reason we wouldn't return and there is nothing the hosts can do about it, unfortunately. We tried earplugs but those did not keep us from being woken up 2-3 times per night during our 2 week stay. If you are a heavy sleeper, this will not be an issue. The location is awesome! There is a great farmers market on Saturday mornings at the college that is huge and we really enjoyed. Walking distance from downtown Gilbert with many cute shops and restaurants.

Nice downtown location. Quiet neighborhood and great utility hookups (50A service, cold/hot water and septic connection). Good WiFi connection to host's house. All host's directions were clear/concise.

Super cute space and very gracious host. The train going through yard,(not really, less than 1 block though, but felt like so close you could touch it). The horn blew THREE separate times in sequence in the middle of the night. For a convenient, safe, quick stop, it fit the bill. For any true rest and sleep you would be very frustrated.

This was a perfect place to stay. It was very quiet and very private but yet super close to everything. There’s a handful of beautiful, quiet, and friendly chickens in the yard to appreciate. We were even able to do a quick load of laundry while we were there. These hosts are the best!

Justine, Adam and the chickens were great hosts. In an area with few good spots to safely camp, this was a great oasis. Easy walk to the bars and restaurants of downtown Gilbert.

The site is so cute! There are twinkle lights on the side of the house, a little fire pit, and some other cute touches. The pad had ample space for our 23’ travel trailer and SUV, and the FHU was much appreciated. The dogs were grateful to have some space to run around after many days on leashes, and they found the chickens fascinating. 😁 The train is definitely loud, so if you’re a super light sleeper or have children who are, that may be a deterrent. For us, it was no big deal; the one time it passed when we were asleep, we just rolled over and went back to sleep. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location within walking distance to down town. Be sure to try MexiQ for amazing BBQ. Plenty of space in back that felt very private. We would stay here again:)

We were there for a wedding and were busy with everything so we didn’t get to spend any time in Gilbert, but our stay with Adam and Justine was fantastic. We have three dogs, and one that is obsessed with chickens. Adam and Justine have chickens so she was immediately in heaven. The RV site is level and enclosed and very safe and comfortable. Full hookups with 50 and 30 amps. Whenever we travel to that area, that’s where we’ll be staying. Safe, comfortable and accommodating.

Loved the easy access to Gilbert and Phoenix area. Level pad hosts and chickens were friendly. Since our pup does not chase chickens it was great to have him able to be off leash in a fenced yard.

We are full time RVers in a 40' Class A - and we loathe standard RV parks. So, when it comes to staying in Phoenix during the high winter season, this HipCamp spot was a great find. Our host was away during our stay, and so as a result, we shared this completely fenced backyard with just 5 chickens - which our cat found very entertaining. There was even grass, which we don't see often in this part of the country. There's a laundry room, a propane fire pit with chairs set up, and the host has a surge protector in place as well as a 50-30 amp dogbone, if you need it. It was a short walk to town for awesome restaurants and shops, with great biking/running trails nearby. We did a somewhat interesting 5 or 7 point K-turn to get ourselves into the site, but once inside the gates, we had plenty of room - just make sure you have a good spotter to guide you. Smaller RV's should have no issue. Our toad stayed outside the gates, making it easy to run errands. The only thing we'd warn folks about would be a train that runs by about 5 times a day, 2 of those being during the night. But - if you are an experienced RVer, then you know that 90% of the time, your campground is near a train line, an airport, an interstate, or all three. We heard the train, and then went right back to sleep. Honestly, we felt like this was a little oasis, and we would definitely stay again.

We loved the location of this spot! Really enjoyed walking to restaurants and breweries. The pad and hook ups were in excellent condition. The host was very kind and friendly.

The host and hostess were super nice and accommodating. Full hook ups, level and safe parking space. Close to a lot of attractions and bonus for laundry. However, you should be aware of a couple of items that are not mentioned in the description. There was no mention of the chickens. We don't have a problem with the birds only that they left their droppings everywhere. The host was kind enough to pen them since we have a dog but we found that we tracked poo into the camper on a few occasions. The other con was no mention of the trains that come by in the middle of the night. Not a big deal during the day but will certainly startle you in the middle of the night.

Hookups were in a perfect spot. The entrance is a bit wonky, we found that turning around and backing in on the blindside was our best choice with a 45ft Class A.

Justine offers a Fenced backyard with a level gravel parking spot and full hookups. Backed our 40’ RV in with no problems. We shared the yard with a few chickens, they were entertaining and their eggs were delicious. Quiet neighborhood the trains only go by 4 or 5 times a day. Lots of great walking or biking trails nearby and located Right around the corner from several restaurants and bars. There is a laundry room available but we did not use it. We enjoyed our stay.

Justine’s spot is perfect, private yet in town. (30min to the airport) A little tricky backing into, so practice before you come, but well worth it. Full hook ups, including laundry, a beautiful enclosed yard for our puppy to run. The gas fire pit is a great hang out spot. The train is loud if you aren’t used to them, I didn’t mind, it added to the nostalgia for me. The chickens are very friendly. I made the mistake of sharing my Fritos, from then out they thought everything I had was for them. 😂 As a host, Justine has timely and complete communication, she answers questions quickly, is friendly, and attentive. Price is fair, I would recommend and stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay with Justine. The yard was secure and our dogs were able to be off the leash. There were train tracks near by but only heard two trains all night. We were able to back a 33ft trailer into the space but had to park our truck on the street just outside the gate which worked perfect for us. Water, electricity, and sewer worked perfectly. I would stay there again if I was in the area.
