If you're looking for complete solitude with no sights, sounds, or smells of ranch life, I recommend dispersed camping elsewhere. My 2.2-acre private horse ranch is home to: • 8 rescue horses • 2 donkeys • 8 mini pigs and a few chickens! …all ready to meet and greet! Trail access? Absolutely. Hiking and horseback riding trails lead directly from the property into Spur Cross Conservation Area—or take a short 10-minute drive to a main trailhead. Black Mountain Hiking Trail is also nearby and offers panoramic views of the valley. You can even ride your horse into town and tie up at the local cowboy bars! ⸻ A few things to note: • The landscape varies with the season—there won’t be green grass in the summer • Please keep pets away from cactus—they bite! • We’re located in a desert neighborhood, so please respect the nearby homes. My house and neighbors house will be in view from your campsite. • A horse corral (50 ft round pen) is available to rent—message me if interested! ⸻ Looking for more adventure? Enjoy them from a picture away :) Our 2 accessible acres will give you 360 view of mountains, our Red Rock Roping arena, and a Saloon to gather under to enjoy cool refreshments, and a meal with your friends/family. Right outside our entrance going North on 80th Street you can hike over to the Grapevine Wash which is a short walk away from the Cave Creek Town Trail System for hiking and horseback riding, and if you’re adventurous you can hike up 2 miles of a 800’ climb on a gravel road/trails to “Mexican Hat” for an even more incredible view! We are a 30 amp full hook up (sewer, water & electrical) for 33’ RV’s and living quarters horse trailers. You will also have access to our community laundry area, with a large garbage can to dump a bag if needed. Some suggestions for town; Grab some quick delicous breakfast and coffee at Janey’s. Or American cuisine lunch at The Horny Toad, a Mexican cuisine dinner while watching the turtles in the pond at El Encanto! Ofrenda, right at the end of the road, also has great authentic Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants to choose from all within a short drive. Bashas, Safeway, Target, and Walmart and Sprouts are all within a 3-6 mile drive too! We have two turnout pens for horses. That are located right behind where you will park your trailer. They both have a cover that provides some shade, as well as running water. We do not provide any feed, so please make sure you bring some! We ask that you please do not feed any horses that do not belong to you. Or go into any pen that your horse is not in. For safety and respect :) Thank you in advance. (Horse turnouts are an extra $25 each/per night)

We’ve enjoyed hosting people from all around the country. We’re can accommodate guests for up to three weeks and unable to offer monthly rates. We welcome families with up to two children. Pets are welcome, two or less, and we have a designated pet area for their use. There are two nice sitting areas, a laundry shed with washer, dryer, and drying rack. Internet access is also available. More about the “Field of Dreams”: Our site has a paved level concrete pad with 50 amp service, water, and septic. RVs are required to come with empty holding tanks because of the septic system. We can accommodate up to 43 feet in length RVs. There is a nice landscaped patio area with table, chairs, umbrella, and a privacy screen. There is also a propane fire pit available. Our site is close to Costco, Starbucks, local restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and a mall. There is nearby mountain biking, hiking, and site seeing. We are 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix in a quiet residential area.

Flat, private area behind main residence with a large cover. You will have about 1 acre of space to yourself. Quiet, rural feel yet less than 5 minutes from shopping, dining and conveniences. Full hookups-- Filtered water, 50 amp electric, and septic. Room to set up temporary horse panels. Walking distance to Santan regional park for miles of hiking, biking or horseback riding. 2 miles from Horseshoe park. Less than a mile to Santan flats. Weekend Trip to Ash Creek Canyon
Ash Creek Canyon was everything we needed and more. The campsite was secluded and quiet. The bubbling of the creek at night was beautiful, and the water was low. I can only imagine how nice it will be after the rains. We didn't meet Andrew the elder, but the younger was knowledgeable and helpful, as was Ryan an employee we accidentally disturbed with questions. We had several furry visitors, our favorite was 2104 a gentle bull that gazed near the site while we were there. Tips: The roads are largely ungraded, so you definitely need 4 wheel drive. I would not recommend a low car. We were in an SUV and had no problems. You will drive on a one lane road with a cliff to one side. Even if you're nervous, it is worth it at the end. Visit the town. It is interesting and I hope to go back once more is restored. The hike to the swimming hole isn't bad, but it is worth it. Ask Andrew where the moonshine is! I didn't and I regret it!

Absolutely a wonderful experience camping here. The host was gracious and the tour of the property along with his vast knowledge of the history of the mining operations was beyond reproach. There are multiple camp sites that have been cleared and offer a lot of space to set up several tents and campers. There are also several cabins that are being renovated that will be offered for those who need the modern amenities. Abundant wildlife, fresh water streams and trails leading to the Tonto National Forest. A definite must for those wishing to get away from the daily monotony of the city. The night sky is absolutely amazing!

This camping trip was much more than I expected. I had never heard of this old mining town and beautiful Ash Creek Canyon, couldn’t find much information online. GPS took us right to the City, Upon arrival Andy greeted us and showed us to our campsite, then told us some history of the area and the places that must be seen. I will definitely be back because 3 days was not enough to see everything. When you go, plan to rent a side by side from them, if available, because there is over 600 acres to explore. Plenty of old mountain roads and mine entrances to see. Even.a few old buildings left from the Mining town days are there to see. A lot of active wild life to see, swimming holes to discover. Way too much to list here. If you love camping and exploring, do not miss this place. Campsites are large and leveled, with big fire pits. Plenty of room for multiple tents or RVs.

Spencer and Melissa were wonderful hosts, and they really put a lot of thought and investment into the space so that campers can have a great stay! The RV parking area was wide and very well-maintained, with so many amenities. It had hookups for power, water and sewer, a brick patio, a fire pit, a sparkling pool and a covered gazebo. The RV gate was secure and had a separate entrance gate with a personalized code for access. The property is conveniently located near many restaurants and retail stores. The hosts were delightful, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay, and we look forward to coming back again!

Weekend Trip to Tent Camp at Tuck & Bird Ranch
We had an absolutely amazing time, the tent set up was beautiful! Marissa was always quick to respond, despite being on a trip herself :) The blackstone grill and utensils were perfect for cooking our meals. We were even visited by the sweetest dogs on the property. It was a short drive to tonto creek where we hiked and swam. I would definitely recommend this place and would book again!

First: we have experienced no finer host than Andrew and his assistant Chad. Both are well at tuned to offering assistance or information when requested yet not once were they hovering. Second: and this is just our experience on one given weekend in May 2025. No question that the boys have put a lot of work into getting the road better than the original built over 100 years ago. You can see their work everywhere. And you can see the heavy duty equipment they’ve used as well. But it still is a bumpy road with some rocks you would not want to scrape the bottom of your vehicle. We did it in 2wd coming in, which is downhill predominantly and a bit of 4wd our way out as it lightly rained and we did not want to slip going uphill in our heavy sprinter van. I would gladly defer to Andrew‘s opinion as to what he has seen come in and out of that road of late. Next: if you like Arizona’s western history, this is quite a unique place because it’s been on private property for so long. The buildings are open to explore. Near the camp sites the relics to be spotted everywhere. Add an extra day if this your thing. Amazing how people lived just 100 years in our past. Camping spots: 2 thumbs up. Big spots that could easily host 3+ vehicles. We loved being right by the creek around the mature trees and massive boulders. Our two bird dogs romped and raced about the creek for hours with no ticks. Good trees for shade and hammocks. Bring some leveling blocks. Thx Andrew & Chad

Pack a picnic lunch and tour of some amazing cliff dwellings overlooking Theodore Roosevelt Lake in Arizona. Two cliff dwellings in the middle of the Sonoran Desert offered shelter to families for nearly 200 years. The nearby river provided a water source, a way to grow plants and a place for animals to drink water.

Access the lower cliff dwelling by taking the paved walkway. You can only get to the upper one when you go on a Ranger-led tour. Historians discovered that the Salado people created colorful pottery and woven cloth as part of their vibrant society.

The visitor's center gives you a good idea of what the Salado were like when they inhabited these cliff dwellings from 1250 to 1450. Bring good hiking shoes as the path to the upper cliff dwelling is rocky, on an incline and unpaved. Tall saguaro cacti, growing on the cliff side, serve as silent sentinels watching over the site.

Nearby rustic campsites let you stay near the cliff dwellings and the lake. Theodore Roosevelt Lake and the adjacent Tonto National Forest have great hiking, boating, fishing, and swimming. This National Monument and the public lands nearby are open year-round, although the cooler spring and fall months are ideal times to visit.
