Enjoy the Junipers and see the stars fall over the Cedars! At 6000ft elevation the air is much cleaner and the weather is much cooler, especially in the summer time! We have plenty of space. A well house to fill up your water. There are also outdoor bathrooms, no shower yet, but working on that! We're just a short seven minute drive to the dump station at a local gas station down the road on the Deuce of Clubs and Penrod. We are 14 minutes from a large hospital, 10 minutes from major grocery stores, shopping and restaurants, and many other fun activities. Our location is in a perfect spot to enjoy the blue sky and great weather. Sunrise Ski area is a quick drive too! Pinetop Lakeside are within 10 minutes, Taylor and Snowflake are within 15 to 25 minutes. We hope you visit and continue to keep our environment clean and a chill spot to visit. We are home to a family-friendly honky-tonk, and microbrewery, now open. Please check our Instagram or Facebook @the4sbarn and @greatskycampranch_showlowaz for updates. We stopped here mostly for a dark night sky they mention on their website. That was ruined by a toy hauler with its bright LED's that were left on all night. Electrical connections are too far forward in the site. Our site, 8, was not level front to back because of that and because we had to pull so far forward. We may try this place again as we travel through almost every year.

We were in Boondock site B, it was clean and provided great amount of space for our setup. We were only passing through for the night, but it was a very clean and safe place to lay our heads for the night before moving on to our final destination! The hosts were very responsive, as we sent in our request later in the evening and they promptly responded with thorough directions and accepted our request without delay!

Grand Canyon Oasis is a hidden value. Located as close as possible to Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater National Monument, it is right off of 89. We were boondocking, so no hookups (hookups are available, as well as some tiny homes for rent) - but were able to use the clubhouse, which features a bathroom (no showers), a great assortment of drinks and snacks (honor system), and a nice selection of gifts for purchase. The clubhouse also has areas to hang out, laundry facilities, and other nice touches (books to read, binoculars to borrow, etc). The entire property is well kept, and maintained, and the boondock area was a great value given the proximity to the monuments and to Flagstaff.

This was our second visit, and you could see all the improvements made to what was already a great facility. Gil and Tiffany are terrific hosts, dedicated and fun to talk to. The camp is a great base for visits to Zion, Bryce, Coral Pink Sands, and a number of other destinations.

Shelley was easy to contact and the site was wonderful. We watched the full moon rise as the sun set. Loved site 8. They have some cute looking tiny homes. I would come back with family and everyone could be comfortable, but still feel remote and outdoors. Windy region later at night, so pack away awnings and what not before snoozing.

Great quick overnight stop. Huge level place and we were almost alone since it was the off season. Hosts were communicative and met us at the gate and got us situated. (plus for us was a big drive thru Starbucks nearby for our fix before we left Quartzsite). There was a lot of work going on (because of flooding) but they placed us far enough away from the sounds and they shut it down early. Did not bother us a bit. We had a restful night and left early. No glitches and we'll be back when passing through again.

My brother and I were meeting up for a hiking weekend and found this gem of a camp. Tiffany and Gill are wonderful and helpful hosts! This beautiful camp was the perfect location for our trip to Zion. Everything was easy, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed and the vibe was friendly and inviting. I can’t wait to come back and camp here again.

Decent site for sleeping in my camper truck. Clubhouse provides a few nice amenities. Due to road noise be sure to bring a good pair of earplugs. The best part was the fantastic view of the open wilderness area behind the site, and some of the most spectacular clouds I’ve seen in a while!

Nice, convenient place to spend the night. Loved the rec area - my husband and I got in a good game of ping pong. Was able to go for a nice run on the trail immediately adjacent to property. Great hosts!

We reserved a slot at Ethel’s on our way north to Tetons and Yellowstone. It was great spot to spend the night. Easy to get to, check in was easy and the hosts were friendly. Had all we needed. We are staying again on the return trip home.

Tiffany and Gil were fantastic! They were super welcoming and accommodating! Josey was also a plus factor! Bathroom and kitchen were nice and clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with literally everything which made dinner choices easier! We definitely plan on returning in the near future! We are also excited for all the new upgrades the campsite is getting.

Where to go

Northern Arizona

While northern Arizona's best-known attraction is the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, there’s plenty more to see and do, from visiting Lake Powell on the Colorado River to backcountry tent camping among the ponderosa pines in the Coconino National Forest, Prescott National Forest, and Kaibab National Forest. Sedona, just south of Flagstaff, also makes a great base for hiking among Arizona's Red Rocks or swimming in Oak Creek Canyon’s Slide Rock State Park.

Western Arizona

Dubbed Arizona's "West Coast," this part of the state offers all sorts of outdoor activities, much of which revolve around the Colorado River. The town of Yuma near the southern border is a popular spot, featuring an old Wild West prison and serving as a good base for visiting the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. Attractions further north include Lake Havasu State Park, where you can swim, camp, or even check out the 19th-century London Bridge. Further north, the massive Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers year-round camping and easy access to two lakes.

Central Arizona

While it's easy to associate central Arizona with Phoenix sprawl, this region offers a lot for outdoorsy types, all within a short drive of the city. Popular spots for outdoors lovers include the Superstition Mountains in the Tonto National Forest, Lost Dutchman State Park, and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. If you're interested in archaeology, the Montezuma Castle National Monument is also worth a visit.

Southern Arizona

Southern Arizona is full of Wild West spirit, with a mix of historic ghost towns and scenic desert landscapes, plus plenty of forests, particularly in the Chiricahua Mountains. Must-visit parks include Saguaro National Park and Catalina State Park—both just outside Tucson. If it gets too hot, make like a local and head to Patagonia Lake State Park, a prime spot to swim and cool off from the Arizona heat.
