Feel free to use our laundry facilities, communal picnic basket, and complimentary condiments, seasonings, sauces, etc found in the door of the fridge. Attached to the lounge is our air conditioned ecobathroom with *hot* shower, bio toilet, and complimentary toiletries if you forget anything.
A few notes on the property:
Most people have never used an EcoToilet and don’t realize it takes some work. If you have children, you will very likely have to do this part for them.
We keep the lounge area as clean as possible but at the end of the day it is an outdoor kitchen! Kitchenwares will have a layer of dust even if cleaned the day prior, so please give everything a rinse before you using!
You may read about mosquitoes in some of our past reviews, but I am happy to share that we now have a monthly mosquito service in place that has mitigated that issue :)

It serves as our primary residence and also residence for seasonal workers&traveling artists when they come here. Every year we have the opportunity to employ about a dozen people to work with us during the tourist season, from March-October. A little slice of camping heaven, 41 acres with 800 feet of water frontage on Styx River. YaYa's is a completely primative or boondocking campground and swim area with porta pottie available. There is hot showers available at truck stop about a mile away and they have a dump station for those in RV. Come enjoy all the natural beauty or we are within an hour of hundreds of things to do for all ages. YaYA lives about 1/2 mile away and has a well available to refill your water. There is plenty of fallen wood to gather for fires or cut wood available for purchase. We have a community area with picnic tables, sun sails, grill, pavilion, and large bonfire. Please note the access road is old gravel and dirt, so if in a low car you'll need to take it slow. If there has been rain call ahead for entry directions as part of road becomes muddy. There is also a shooting range near by so during the day you will hear this some. You will not be disappointed if you love the tranquility of being outdoors.

Close to town yet far enough out in the country to see the stars at night. The Pinhoti trail is just down the road, along with Hurricane mountain trail, a little traveled wildlife and nature excursion on National forest land. Our 2.4 acre artist compound is enclosed in bamboo and lush with hundred-year-old live oaks + native pollinator flowers we’ve planted. Choose any spot to pitch your tent and enjoy our magic oasis only 20 min from the beautiful white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores. You're welcome to use the "outdoor living room" as you please. This area includes a bar with rainwater catchment for washing hands/dishes, refrigerator, freezer, electric tea kettle, microwave, solar oven, complimentary coffee/tea station, 2 burner biogas stovetop with cooking equipment&utensils, games, aerial yoga silks, climbing wall, slackline, Iyengar yoga rope wall, trash/recycling, filtered alkaline drinking water and more! Feel free to use our laundry facilities, communal picnic basket, and complimentary condiments, seasonings, sauces, etc found in the door of the fridge. Attached to the lounge is our air conditioned ecobathroom with *hot* shower, bio toilet, and complimentary toiletries if you forget anything.
A few notes on the property:
Most people have never used an EcoToilet and don’t realize it takes some work. If you have children, you will very likely have to do this part for them.
We keep the lounge area as clean as possible but at the end of the day it is an outdoor kitchen! Kitchenwares will have a layer of dust even if cleaned the day prior, so please give everything a rinse before you using!
You may read about mosquitoes in some of our past reviews, but I am happy to share that we now have a monthly mosquito service in place that has mitigated that issue :)

Our intention for this artist community is to bring like-minded people together and make the world a more beautiful place. It serves as our primary residence and also residence for seasonal workers&traveling artists when they come here. Every year we have the opportunity to employ about a dozen people to work with us during the tourist season, from March-October. Aside from our local employees, we also wanted to create a space that would allow for fellow travelers to join our crew. Loved this spot! Very secluded and isolated. Didn’t see or hear another person in three days. Great directions and communication from the host. My 2 wheel drive Tacoma got me within about 75ft of the sandbar. Any amount of recent rain would require 4wd for sure. Feels very safe while very secluded. Awesome hearing the coyotes howl/sing at night! Very limited cell phone service. Starlink worked perfectly!

1 night at Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp
This was my third time staying there. And the reason I went back is because I wanted to stay again. I traveled to Knoxville and it’s a great place to stop in my in-between travels. The house are incredible not to mention the 200+ acres of land have trails and a pond. Plenty to see and walk around. I can’t wait to spend another night there again. I stayed in an A-frame, which has electricity, AC and heat. I mostly sit on the porch and light a fire and listen to the quiet.
The bathrooms are nearby and are clean with showers and a sink to do your dishes. Whatever you think you are missing, they have I’m a huge fan and will be back again and again.

Great and secluded spot. Photos of the signs at the entrance drive are out of date; just find the power pole in the photo (by number) and turn in at the drive at that location. Opens up into a small glade which is really nice, and continue on to find the trail to the beach. In a Ford F150 we didn’t think we’d make it through to very narrow trees on the way to the beach so we stopped short and camped in the woods. Really good spot though and had a great time lounging at the river.

We love going every chance we can. It was a little cold Friday night and Saturday night without a fire cause of the no burn band
Saturday morning the cat named fireball came to see us and came back right before dark for a little bit just don't rub his belly he doesn't like it lol 😆 did get to walk the trails seen beautiful views

The entire area is wonderful and the cabin is small but cozy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the lack of bug bites is a huge plus. If you can live without power and enjoy your surroundings, this is a great spot. Will definitely return again soon.

What an amazing and unique site! We camped in our tent and we loved how quiet the place was at night. The common area was amazing with lots of space to prep meals and relax. We loved having a water dispenser, phone charging station, fridge and a freezer. Everyone there was so kind and welcoming, including the lovely doggo Bentley! This place is about 20 minutes from Gulf Shores beaches, there are some convenience stores nearby. For the best firewood, go to Lowe's. Highly recommended!

Bohamia was the first place we’ve booked on the app, and it did not disappoint! We brought our 2 dogs and they had the best time there. There are many things to do, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The site is very clean and quiet! Highly recommend!

Great, private site right along the creek. We had a great time playing in the water and the stars were amazing! So nice to have privacy and solitude and the location is close to Riverside Fly Shop if you plan to fly fish while in the area. Only complaints were vehicles driving nearby even later at night, perhaps ATV's, dogs and gunshots. All familiar country sounds, but worth mentioning for those seeking quiet. Still, it was peaceful and we would go back.

It was quiet and private. The dogs felt at home. Really couldn’t get wet on the property. Plenty of area to fish. All in all, I would stay again, but it would have to be earlier in the year or later in the year because there’s no way that you can swim out there really which is important to us.

Shout out again to Dusty for creating a great, safe, and welcoming spot for like-minded people. My wife and I came during the equinox event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Special thanks to "G" for leading a very awesome chill nature walk that taught us all about the plant life we take for granted in our area. But what makes it so much more special are the community aspects that help us put down our phones and be present for the moment. Getting to meet and interact with everyone really grounds me to recharge. Parksland helps and so much more.
I finally got to experience the side over by P4-P6. Staying at P5 is nice and secluded but still close to the public area. I highly recommend it if you dont have a lot of stuff and just need the essentials. 10/10 trip all around and I can't wait to come back.
