The Dry Bones Live (Ezekiel 37). The first visit in 2019 to this 21 acres was both a shock and a confirmation. It had everything on our check list and more - nearly flat land, convenient location, but also twice the acreage, a roadbed, diversity, Monarch butterflies everywhere, access to a big lake.....and it was littered with logs!! They were in piles and scattered everywhere. But this particular land was being placed in my hands to steward and to reveal the creativity and loving nature of Yahweh. And that meant not bulldozing or burning the logs. Instead, the task was to breathe life into the logs and the land through gentle stewardship to protect the biodiversity and build good soil. Breath of Life Farm is being regeneratively developed to cultivate elderberries, vineyards, peaches, mushrooms, and small plantations of trees for wood or nuts. My sister, Pam, and I hope that visitors will come to enjoy the seasonal changes of flower colors, watch for foot and hoof prints of wildlife, enjoy the songs of the birds and the frogs, see how many different native mushroom species they can spot, and be marveled by the stars as they sparkle in the dark night sky. Currently we only have a very limited number of primitive campsites that are easily accessible by passenger cars. We Are A Primitive Campground. During other periods of the year, the same little area may consist largely of bare soil spotted with new green growth. There is an abundance of deadwood and broken limbs available around the farm for campfires, if you would like to pick it up. This includes firewood sometimes left by previous campers. Please do not cut down any living trees or shrubs. Primitive Camping may not be for everyone! I suggest that you take the Name, into account, and do a little research into the Actual Practice. We offer some campsites which can be easily accessed with cars, but many may require 4-wheel drive, or low hanging branches which may scratch your vehicle. If You are looking for an orderly and well-groomed commercial Campground, Our Primitive Campground may not be for you. Sit on the rocks at the base of the waterfall under the rhododendrons and holly trees, and wade in the water in the warm months. Park on the side of the road in front of the Cynefin sign. There are solar lights illuminating the path to the tent if you arrive after dark. There you will find a that you can use to bring your luggage down. Other things to note • The river will rise and fall depending on how much rain we are getting. It tends to be lower late summer to early fall. We cannot guarantee water levels. • This is primitive off grid camping. There's no electricity or running water. We recommend bringing a portable battery pack to charge devices. • Please be respectful of any wildlife (there are white tail deer, raccoons, weasels, harmless black snakes, mink, foxes, coyotes, many birds, and the extremely, and we do mean extremely, rare black bear), while fishing in the little river is allowed, hunting is prohibited.

This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite! Learn more about this land: Setup camp on the banks of Dorsey creek in Bug Tussle. Wooded area with shade in the warm season. Flat ground for tents or plenty of trees for hammocks. Easy access for vehicles directly to the campsite. Fire ring with grill grates present for cowboy cooking. Peaceful with plenty of opportunity to see wildlife. Primitive toilet present. Rock dam in creek is great to entertain kids, old grist mill site couple hundred yards downstream. Logging and ATV present for hiking and wildlife viewing. We cannot say enough about how beautiful Vikrum’s land was. It was so peaceful and quiet and the river view and beaches were amazing. We had a little difficulty finding the initial turn off from the dirt road but the GPS directions lead us right to it. We just didn’t listen to them 🙄. The trail to the campsite was totally passable for a Tacoma and a grand Highlander. We loved it and so did our pups! We will totally be back. Thank you for a wonderful little break from reality!

My husband and I had the best time celebrating the long holiday weekend at hideaway cove. We were able to bring our senior dog and were so impressed with the layout and everything that was provided. We slept comfortably even in chillier weather, and made sure to take advantage of the canoe. The lake was gorgeous and we fell in love with the area. I definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this campsite. The drive in was very straightforward (especially if you watch the YouTube video). The creek was low since we haven't had any rain lately. It was extremely private- some occasional far off car noise and dogs barking but otherwise a wonderful spot in the woods. Plenty of room for multiple tents or vehicles. 6 nights at Murchison Farm's Primitive Camping

I was extremely happy camping at Anthony's farm. I'm planning to go back again. I haven't been challenged bushcrafting in a long time. I like primitive camping, with tents. Anthony has a diamond in the ruff, meaning he is working to expand camping experiences, like glamming, group camping and R.V. hook ups. As such a few things to take I to account before booking. The roads on the farm are passable dirt , but have low hanging trees and big ruts in spots. If your vehicle is pristine and you are O. C.D. On its looks, don't bring it. Phrases like primitive, ruffing it, bushcraft should be a warning. If you don't prepare for potable water, sanitation, personal hygiene ( toilet) then your Walmart option is Greenvile, 40 miles round trip. R.V.ers should be self contained for boondocking. I liked the option of fishing I caught large mouth bass, catch and released. Hiking the roads on the farm is also fun. Depending on your camping style this may not be the fit for most campers, but if you like the primitive, hands on challenge like I do, you will not be disappointed. Thank you.

Weekend Trip to Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp

My friend and I spent 2 nights tent/car camping at the pond area. I’ve been camping since I was a kid and she’s never been camping, but Bohamia was perfect for both of us. Leigh was wonderful, the camp sites were well maintained, quiet, and spread out enough to be more private than a lot of campgrounds. There’s only a Porta-potty in the pond area, but it was clean. The bathhouse is a short drive and very nice. The virtual camp store was so convenient for ordering wood for the fire and had a lot of other necessities. Highly recommend bringing hiking boots with good grip and hiking to the overlook/waterfall. The hiking trails are all very well maintained but not always well marked. However, Bohamia welcomes you to explore their unmarked trails as well, and it would likely be very hard to get truly lost on the property. My pit-mix comes on nearly every camping trip with me and I’m always a little weary of how she will be viewed, but she didn’t get so much as a sideways glance at Bohamia. I felt comfortable having her on a long tie-out or a zip-line and, because the sites were so spread out, there was no worry of her bothering anyone else. Before we even packed up, my friend was convincing the rest of our friend group to move our upcoming camping trip to Bohamia, so we will definitely be coming back.

A great weekend stay! We had Tent Site #1. Private compared to a lot of other campsites. Nice level ground for the tent. We utilized the fire pit both nights. This site is located at the bottom of the hill, so when it was windy up near the restrooms, it was nice and calm at the site. Speaking of restrooms- Nice little restroom/shower combo inside the farm buildings! Genius touch. Hot showers. This location was perfect for us as it was within a 30 minute drive to the Talladega National Forest and Cheaha State Park. Gorgeous area to visit. Thank you, John!

Very big and pretty piece of property. The tent camping area is in a field with a pond and surrounded by woods. Two others were camped also but it was spread out enough that it felt comfortable and quiet. Great trails on property. Pretty in the fall. Host was very nice.
