I have a charcoal and gas grill available on the deck, as well as a smoker. I am a bit "house poor," until I get my shop built and make my own furniture, so bring portable chairs and a table.Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent on one of two locations. Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us! We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65. I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served. WIFI is available! (please ask for password). We have a portable toilet for your use. This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails. This is also a hobby farm with livestock (Donkey, two Goats, a Duck and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you! My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from backing during the night. We also host an AirBnB, so other guests may be here as well. Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back. We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water. Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

There is no TV or radio. The Camper is nestled 17 miles from Town, so you may want to shop on your way here. The Eastern Shore Center is located at Exit 38, where you can find great shopping, many restaurants, and a Publix grocery store. We try to keep various essential items in the pantry and there is a stocked kitchen (pots, pans, plates, glasses, flatware). TV, landline telephone, and internet are not available. You should have good cell phone service, Verizon and AT&T 4G , outside. Check-in is any time after 3pm and Check-out is 10am. Guest access Please do not open any gates or cross any fences. Camping On The Farm! This is a living quarters horse trailer that we use to travel with our horses. It is a small space! Set on a working farm 5 miles down a red dirt road, the camper offers beautiful views of the Farm and wonderful interaction with nature and the farm animals. The Farm offers the peace and quiet of country life while being just a short distance from the OWA Amusement Park, fine dining, great malls, an outlet center, and the beautiful Gulf beaches. The space Camping On The Farm! This is a living quarters horse trailer that we use to travel with our horses. It is a small space! There is a queen size bed in the upper area, a kitchenette with an undercounter refrigerator, a microwave, a two burner gas cooktop, and an outdoor grill. The bathroom has a toilet and a 24" x 30" stand up shower. The kitchen sink is also the bathroom sink. There is a small 3 gallon water heater which will provide about 5 minutes of hot water, meaning you have 5 minutes to shower. We provide a coffee maker (French press), ground coffee, fresh eggs from our chickens, and a loaf of fresh bread (for your consumption or to feed the animals). We do not provide a cooked breakfast. There is no TV or radio. The Camper is nestled 17 miles from Town, so you may want to shop on your way here. The Eastern Shore Center is located at Exit 38, where you can find great shopping, many restaurants, and a Publix grocery store. We try to keep various essential items in the pantry and there is a stocked kitchen (pots, pans, plates, glasses, flatware). TV, landline telephone, and internet are not available. You should have good cell phone service, Verizon and AT&T 4G , outside. Check-in is any time after 3pm and Check-out is 10am. Guest access Please do not open any gates or cross any fences. The animals are people-friendly and will come up to the fences to be fed. Treats are provided. Other things to note There is no TV or radio available.

Dave is the perfect host and has a beautiful location. Sunsets are amazing every day. Easy pull through location and easy to hook up on flat ground. Dollar General is a mile away and it’s about a 15 minute trip to Walmart, grocery and fast food. I highly recommend Heart of the Country for anyone wanting a peaceful get away.

1 night at River Life Camping in Alabama

We cannot say enough about how beautiful Vikrum’s land was. It was so peaceful and quiet and the river view and beaches were amazing. We had a little difficulty finding the initial turn off from the dirt road but the GPS directions lead us right to it. We just didn’t listen to them 🙄. The trail to the campsite was totally passable for a Tacoma and a grand Highlander. We loved it and so did our pups! We will totally be back. Thank you for a wonderful little break from reality!

We had a great stay at A&M retreat. Angelica met us and help guide us into their back yard. Our Mocha loved the huge back yard and freedom to explore. Very quiet neighborhood, but right off main roads to shopping and Perdido Key. We had convenient hook up for water and power. This location is a 15 minute e-bike ride to Big Lagoon State Park , truely a treasure. We were able to view the Blue Angels practicing maneuvers from a distance. Best kept secret though if you go an a short distance East to the Walmart or Target parking lots at 9:00 am the Blue Angels fly low right overhead!! What a treat. We plan on a return trip next spring and hope to stay at A&M retreat again.

Beautiful sandbar, didn't see a single person for 3 days. Perfect place if your looking to unplug for a few days!!

Loved staying last minute with Angelica. Very private, close to beach, state park, and good local food. Dogs had lots of enclosed area to play and we even had a surprise sighting of Blue Angels practice flyovers!!
