We stayed in the yurt over Memorial Day weekend and absolutely loved it! The yurt was clean upon arrival and had more than enough space for 2 people and the open land was great for letting our dogs have some room to roam. The communal kitchen was clean and well stocked with essentials cooking. The porta-potties were clean and there were plenty of solar showers available if we felt like freshening up. Stacy was an amazing host, communicated great via the app, and checked in regularly during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved our time spent here and will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful and easy. The description is accurate, and Stacy was very kind and accommodating. In addition to introducing herself, she raced off to find a corkscrew so my partner and I could appreciate the bottle of wine that we brought.
My primary recommendation is to give yourself time to appreciate the property in addition to spending the night.

I adored flaming at Old moon tipis! Stacy was an amazing sweet and accommodating host. Stacy checked in a few times to make sure everything was going smoothly. The area is amazing and beautiful. Felt alone enough to be with my thoughts however also had the opportunity to meet other campers. I will definitely be going back. Already planning another trip with my mom. Thank you Stacy!! 💕☀️ my heart needed the sun and the kind soul I met.

Such a fun and peaceful place to camp for the weekend. We’d love to return with a few other families and have a game of kickball, or tag in the big field. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing stay with my friend. The views from camp are beautiful and they have a great kitchen outdoor space with a grill and stove. Very peaceful near the creek. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a fun glamping experience!

Upon entry to the Yurt, it was excellent to have 2 fans cooling off the place.
It appeared to be neat and clean. The were 2 nice, firm beds to use for our stay. Solar shower bags filled with water were available for our use. But there was no window covering on the front door of the yurt, and although it was swept, there were numerous Box Elder Bugs on the carpet, but those really don't harm anyone.
The kitchen area had water in a 7 gallon jug, but it did not appear that the kitchen area had been cleaned since last fall. There were leaves in the 2-burner stove, without any propane to use. We ended up using the grill to cook on because there was enough propane with the grill. The grill was soiled from past multiple barbeque uses. We used our skillet that we brought because the other kitchenware was dirty and unuseable. The plastic containers that the kitchenware was stored in was greasy.
It is a quiet, beautiful place, but because of these factors, we don't feel that we can give this stay an excellent rating. It needs to have a maintained kichen area with everything clean and in good repair.

We loved the tipi and the land it's on. Really nice set up where you have a good amount of your own privacy, yet it's easy to be sociable and in community with others around you. This was especially true at the outdoor kitchen, where we made full meals and had great conversations. The last night we had the place to ourselves, and enjoyed standing beneath an incredible canopy of stars. The only downside was the noise from the highway, which of course isn't the host's fault. But we would've loved even more quiet to settle into in this gorgeous spot.

We had a wonderful stay at Old Moon Acres TiPi Haven. We stayed in the Lil Bear TiPi and it was such a fun experience! The mattress provided was very comfortable, it rained heavily all day and night and our TiPi kept everything dry. Stacy was a 5 star host, responding within minutes to question or request, and the views are spectacular. We would go back to Old Moon Acres in a heart beat!

Stacy was a great host who offered recommendations to us to do in the area for the weekend. There was power outlets with lighting and a fan in the tipi too! The communal kitchen was great as well. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend to anyone!

Stacy took such good care of us! The mattress in the tipi was very comfortable, and there was a lamp and a fan, which made it extra awesome. There were thunderstorms each night we were there, and we stayed entirely dry. The communal kitchen was a haven of shade and waterplay and fairy lights. The grills and water and table and chairs provided made everything so easy. The portapotties were clean and in the shade. The solar shower stalls created a magical shower experience. It's an ideal place for a group of friends with young children - we stayed at the same time as three of our family-friends, with 7 total children in our group between the ages of 10mo and 10yo (majority 3-4yo), and the kids had so much fun just playing in nature around the campground. We can't wait to go back!

We had a great stay at Hawk Tipi - a family of 4 with a 3 and 6 year old and a dog. The local town is also really cute !

What a wonderful place to stay! The kitchen area is spacious and our favorite part was laying in the hammocks listening to the creek. The host is so sweet too! Both the Yurt and the tipis were wonderful.

Lil BEAR tipi
The Tipis on their own decks made it very comfortable. It felt more like glamping. It was great getting everything up off the ground.
There’s also a communal area down by a creek that was great to lounge about and read a book when escaping from some summer heat.

We LOVED our stay here. Stacy came out to greet us and was so friendly. We loved the great big open field (it was FILLED with grasshoppers when we were there which was cool to see) and we loved the stars. We grilled out, had a lovely campfire, made s'mores and just enjoyed looking up at the stars. My husband and I had the yurt which was super spacious and there were even a couple of great working fans in there which was helpful since it was in the 90s that day. My parents had the yurt which they also loved. My dad kept saying how much he really loved the space.

It is a great setup, especially if you have a group rent out multiple tipis. The outdoor kitchen is a great perk as well as the electricity inside the tipis. The only improvement needed is wider wi-fi and maybe a bear box at the kitchen or farthest tipi.

This was our first time using Hipcamp, and Stacy provided an outstanding experience. Everything was as advertised, the location is expansive and beautiful and the yurt was very clean, functional and comfortable. This is a special place. Off the beaten path, natural, and very good energy. The open field allows for a panorama of the night sky, and keep an eye out for the majestic owls hunting in the evening. Perfect home base for Black Canyon NP, local state parks and Gunnison Gorge Recreation Area.

I loved the Yurt we stayed in. We were expecting a Yurt with only 2 mattresses. Imagine our surprise when we opened the door and saw 2 bed frames with 2 mattresses, a small sofa, a table, 2 lamps and 2 fans! To top off that surprise the Yurt was equipped with electricity. It was very nice to meet Stacy who stopped by to welcome us. I highly recommend it is a very comfortable place to stay 😃

Great spot especially for dogs. We had 2 tipis and the yurt rented between friends and we all had our dogs with us. Not sure who enjoyed it more us or the dogs. Great for just about everyone, families included. The kitchen setup is primitive but really all you need and the bathroom and sonar showers were s nice touch. LOTS of grasshoppers and earwigs but I think that just means the land is thriving. Great stay and would absolutely stay again.

Beautiful campground and large tipi. It was set up with two fans and a lamp which made the experience so much easier for a 2nd time camper. The porta potty's, lack of running water and solar showers weren't for me but again I'm a novice camper.
My favorite part was the small creek that ran behind the campsite and open field.

There were bugs inside the tipi everywhere when I arrived - crawling on the bed, on the floor and on the tipi walls. I'm talking about doźens and dozens of box elder bugs, grasshoppers, wasps, ànd more. Which made the tipi uninhabitable. I'm a longtime camper, and tents are designed to keep pests out. A tipi is not -- and this needs to be explained for people who have never stayed in one before. I took my stuff and left. I can't sleep with bugs crawling on me, and I didn't want to get stung by a wasp. I paid a chunk of money to stay here, with the expectation that I'd have a reasonable place to sleep. Mý trip was cut short because I couldn't find an alternate place to stay. I had to drive back to Denver.

Camping here was such a wonderful experience. Stacy is a superb communicator, she goes above and beyond to help you with anything you need — an exceptional host!
The campground is also wonderful: there is ample space for dogs to play and tromp through the burbling creek. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook: pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. along with a standard grill and blacktop. There are hammocks all throughout for you to use at your leisure. Stacy even provides power to the tipis so you can stay charged, along with an oscillating fan to stay cool. The solar shower bags are wonderful, the port-a-potties are kept in great shape, the mattress is comfortable, the trees provide perfect shade in the afternoons, and you can even connect to wifi in some areas!
The only thing that I might suggest is a bug net and a shade structure. There are an astounding amount of beetles, earwigs, and grasshoppers. Since the tipis are not impenetrable, you will be sleeping with a great number of creepy crawlers! The sun also rises directly towards the tipi openings, so it gets a little toasty in the morning — there is some shade to be found near the common kitchen area.
Overall I would highly recommended. Thank you Stacy!

We arrived during an unusually intense storm. Stacy was very proactive in accommodating our needs and helping us get settled. This property is fantastic with a big open field, lots of large trees, and other varied terrain areas. The communal kitchen is fully furnished for cooking and eating. It became a community hangout space during our stay. Delightful!
The highlight was the large and active population of Great Horned Owls. They flew around in the moonlight, calling out, landing on our tipi poles and in nearby trees. It was beyond magical!

Stacy is a great host. She keeps the grounds up beautifully and took great care of our family. The yurt we stayed in was very clean. The stream runs behind the tipis and the yurt and around the common area so it keeps the area pleasant and cool with peaceful sounds in the background . The hammocks are great for relaxing in the afternoon and The old barn on the property is a great photo spot . If you want to enjoy nature in a beautiful location and see a sky full of stars every night this is the perfect place to do it . We truly had a wonderful family time experience and we look forward to visiting again .
