Come celebrate nature with us!
Ravens Landing is a unique piece of property. We are an off-grid forever building artist community. Saddled in between two big mountains, it sits on top of a valley with breathtaking views. Ravens Landing burnt down in 2015 and since then, I and many friends and artists have been rebuilding using recycled lumber and various objects that survived the fires. Today I am so humbly proud to facilitate a space for artists, musicians, nature lovers, off the grid fanatics and more! We love being inspired and inspiring so please come for a visit and leave some of your own inspiration behind.
Come explore the beautiful oak and manzanita forests. Relax and take in the fresh air. Spend quality time with our animals, drive off to the cold running creek, take a workshop or relax in a sound journey. This is our Home, so please visit with an open mind, open heart, and most of all Respect. Everyone is always welcome here.
Please remember Kids are considered guests here so please include them when you reserve the number of people in your party.
KID POLICY:
**Must keep an eye on your children at all times. You are responsible for them!
**Children must be comfortable and respectful around animals. We have a lot here, they are amazing and kid friendly.
**Kids fill this space with their amazing energy so please make sure you account for them in your reservation. If your kids are walking they are considered little people and are charged at regular price. Please inform during booking there will be kids in your party, that way we can possibly reserve a site closer to amenities.
MORE INFO:
Please bring your own tent. All campers get all access to our hand built cob kitchen which and access to our epic dining hall deck. It’s a very sunny property so please bring a canopy for shade if you want it over your campsite. But remember to bring stakes, it can be windy here. There is limited water due to the drought. Here we make every drop count so please come with water conservation in mind. Also for big groups, we love celebrating but please please avoid bringing balloons, styrofoam, plastic banners, plastic cups, streamers or anything else that can blow away in the wind. We are off-grid with no amenities from the city so please be mindful of how much trash you’ll leave behind. If drinking alcoholic beverages we ask that campers take their empties. Ask for a bag if you need it.
It’s always a journey finding the magical places so just a sweet heads up our mountain dirt road is a bit bumpy. Cars make it up all the time. Be sure to drive at a steady pace (lowest gear is good) on the way up and don’t stop till you see the Welcome sign! You will be greeted by one of our wonderful residents.... Or myself!
ARRIVAL:
We ask campers to arrive between 1pm at 8pm. If possible a general ETA helps as well.
DOGS:
We have an amazing dog with a wonderful disposition that roams freely here. You will be most definitely greeted at the entrance by Arco wearing a beautiful tuxedo. Arco will check in with you throughout your stay.
*Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Our animals roam freely. *
WATER:
Please bring your own Drinking Water.
We do have potable water here as well.
We have a shower for those staying more than one night.
*We ask that people take _very_ efficient showers. Water is tremendously valuable here.*
Raven's Landing is a unique campsite that blends art and nature seamlessly, offering a serene escape with its stunning views and communal atmosphere. Many visitors appreciate the thoughtful amenities, including an outdoor kitchen and comfortable communal spaces, which foster a sense of community among campers. The friendly host, Layna, and her vibrant animal companions like dogs and peacocks, add to the welcoming environment. However, some guests noted the need for a bit more maintenance in certain areas and mentioned the challenging road access, which could require a suitable vehicle.
Layna is an absolute wonder! Her land is truly beautiful and a little treasure up in the mountains. What a beautiful experience it was to camp where art meets nature. She has created a unique space and I am so grateful we got to share in it for a little moment. My favorite part is the outdoor dining hall that overlooked everything. It really is something you need to experience. Thank you Layna for your hospitality, for sharing your puppies with us, and for allowing us into your beautiful home. You made our first annual sister camping trip a treasured core memory!
Layna has managed to maximize all the magic of her property that she shares with us, and improve upon it. Her artful and thoughtful design of the space, whether the tent pad or shared communal space made me feel giddy with delight. No joke. And I'm pretty sure my urban dog thought she was the heavens. Originally thinking this was a conveniently located spot to break my road trip, I left realizing this would be a destination on future trips.
Loved it! Layne was great/very helpful, and the cabin was very cozy (I ended up staying in the cabin not the inverted treehouse).
Beautiful and very peaceful spot of land - saw the Milky Way and a shooting star too. The road up is a bit rough but I did it without 4WD and Layna offered to help if needed. Town and everything is 10 min drive away and lots of wineries in the area. One of my fav places I’ve stayed on HipCamp, Would def recommend and looking to go again!
We had an amazing time at our stay at Ravens Landing. Layna is an excellent host! Great for our group of 7. Beautiful stars at night. It’s impressive how she has built the spacious kitchen, lounge and restroom all with awesome views! Not to mention you get to hang with their friendly and gorgeous peacocks and dog Arco. A truly unique experience. Thanks again!
Raven Landing is a good place to campground. Although, it needs a little bit maintenance, hope that the owner takes that into consideration in future. I recommend the place for night camping.
Raven's Landing was one of coolest and memorable places I've ever visited. Layna was absolutely the nicest and most welcoming host, and we had a wonderful time exploring the camp, using all of the communal spaces, and interacting with her sweet dog Arco and the roaming chickens and peacocks (and little peafowl)! We also stayed in the inverted treehouse cabin which was really lovely. During the heat wave, we took Layna's recommendation and found a lovely part of Cache Creek to spend a day in the running water. I would highly recommend a visit :)
100000/10! This was such a beautiful space. I will absolutely be coming back. THe outdoor kitchen and deck area was fun to cook and have laughs in. Layna was welcoming and warm❤️❤️❤️ campground was clean. Arco the dog was an amazing tour guide and companion.
This place is a gem! All of the accomodations are so thoughtful. You can tell a lot of love has been put into this place.
The restroom was easy to understand. There were colorful lights at night, and a variety of campsites to choose from. A couple other people were camping there that night, but with plenty of place to spread out, there was enough room us to be comfortable.
Please read Layna's instructions carefully. There is important, helpful information there.
What a gem. Such a fun spot to soak up sunshine with friends and strangers alike. We loved all the art and the simplicity and the pond and the views and... well, everything! The river was close enough by too that we made a day trip to go swimming. Can't wait to be back!
Magical spot with communal vibes, best for more social campers. We didn’t get to spend as much time as I would’ve liked, but it was a beautiful place. Our site had a great view overlooking the valley/mountains. The common areas are awesome and so unique. Thanks Layna!
very welcoming space, the camp sites were nice, the dining patio was a lovely spot to sit and there were lots of interesting nooks and crannies of the property to explore.
Layna is a great host. She answered all my questions during booking in a timely manner and she was very to attentive during our stay. Great location with excellent views.
The set up at Raven's Landing was absolutely stunning. It is so unique was a magical place. As a city girl, I never felt like I was lacking anything. I choose to stay in one of the cabins, so I had access to my own outhouse and shower. The cabin had a lofted bed and also bunk beds for children.
There was a communal kitchen area and living area that was perfect for lounging in and doing work as there was Wifi available. There were multiple cabins and campsites to pitch tents. I loved the community feel, and I enjoyed interacting with the other campers as we were using the common spaces.
You can tell that Layna takes a lot of pride in her work and she is a true artist. She has some of her works, jewelry and welding pieces, for sale, but you can see her creativity all throughout the property, from the tire rims in the walls to the handmade paintings all over.
I took a walk to the top of one of the nearby hills to watch the sunset. Layna's dog was my trail guide and stayed with me the whole time. The animals make this place unique. She had two male peacocks that were constantly wandering around and were very friendly. Do be prepared to encounter some wildlife. A bat found its way into the cabin, and I had to chase it out:)
The road coming in is a bit steep, twisty, and rough on vehicles. It would be smart to bring a car that can handle a bit of off-roading. Although, one of the other guests, brought a Tesla which seemed to handle the drive. You must visit!
A truly magical experience. No notes!
But seriously, Layna made us feel so welcome and safe. It’s incredible what she’s built and the love she shares for her property, her animals and most importantly the Earth. We will be back as soon as we can, she might not be able to get us to leave! Thanks again Layna!
If you’re considering booking, just do it. You will never regret this experience :)
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic campsite. The host was incredibly welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay.
The kitchen and shared spaces deserve a special mention as well - they were not just clean and well-maintained, but also exuded a certain charm that enhanced our camping experience. It's refreshing to come across a campsite that caters to amenities like these so thoughtfully.
But the real cherry on top was the friendly welcome committee composed of two dogs, a cat, and peacocks! Their delightful presence added a fun element to our stay, one that truly sets this place apart.
Can't recommend it enough and looking forward to our next stay!
The place is a work in progress the kitchen and sitting area is just funky and cool , amazing view very comfortable. Unique vibe . However Bring your own pots to cook in ,pans are in rough shape , kitchen or fridge wasn’t too clean . Not too many places to camp . Perhaps this was because the owner was away ! Very cool place though
This was not quite what we expected as we were looking for a quiet nature get-away. There was a large party going on when we arrived that continued into the evening.
The space itself was nice but is more of a communal vibe. This would be a good fit if you're interested in connecting and sharing space. The deck next to the kitchen is lovely and the best place to hang. The treehouse was comfortable for sleeping but isn't a spot to relax as there are no chairs or furnishings.
Chris was an amazing host and helped us out whenever we needed any. The view was spectacular, and the space was clean and well-kept. I agree with other reviewers saying that going to ravens landing felt like you were stepping into another place. Staying outside at night to look at the sky also felt magical. Thank you to Layla and Chris for an amazing camping experience!
Some notes:
- Going up was a dirt road with some bumps, so its probably best to take a 4WD or a taller vehicle
- There are some yellow jackets in the morning and it seems like they're attracted to meat so a vegetarian bfast might keep them away
- Please don't put tissue inside the pee toilet bowl! It will clog up!
Amazing place to stay
The whole area has some really good energy to it and you feel the love Layna put into the plates. It’s really special
We had a great time staying on the shared deck overlooking the valley, it’s very peaceful
The 2 dogs were super friendly and kepts us company.
The place has a fridge, full kitchen with pots pans and plates galore so it made camping a breeze, we just brought some food and drinks and had a great time
Even though it gets hot out there, the all open common area never felt too hot, really great place to relax
Oh and peacocks sleeps in trees- something fun to see
Thanks again to Chris for showing us around and to Layna for welcoming her in her space, we ll be back!
Amazing site for watching the Perseid meteor shower. Very friendly and helpful host Layna. Really funky and wonderful artistic vibe to the camp site. I would absolutely come again. It was about 98 degrees during the day in mid August, but pleasant sleeping at night. You don’t need to bring much in terms of cooking or grilling supplies as Layna has it all there. The yellow jackets can be a bit intense when you are cooking/eating breakfast.
We loved camping on Raven's Landing. From the warm welcome from our Host and all of the animals living on the grounds, to the communal space where we connected with new people traveling from different places. The time there was special and not like most campsites. This place has heart and soul to it and you can feel it entering and leaving the space. I especially loved the sunsets and the beautiful river/creek just 5 minutes down the road where we beached for a few hours to cool off. It was perfect. We are definitely coming back! Thank you Lena!
The inverted Treehouse was a fabulous experience! What a wonderful way to mix the fun of getting 'off the grid' with the comfort and ease of glamping!
The property itself, Raven's Landing, is incredibly beautiful, all off the grid, but equipped with wifi, a kitchen, and absolutely beautiful and impressive structures built by Layna. Layna was incredibly responsive and helpful before and during our visit- she is incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous. The property was expansive, and we had a surprising amount of privacy up on our side of the hill. We spent time exploring the property, making a short trip down the hill to swim in the absolutely gorgeous river, and enjoying the spectacular view from the shared deck area. We also braved climbing up to the tall viewing area and spent a night watching the stars bundled up on the trampoline.
We stayed in late July and it was sweltering up on the mountain. Luckily, it was nice and cool in the treehouse - Layna set us up with a swamp cooler and we could easily escape the heat! The treehouse is cozy, with its own eco-toilet bathroom area which we appreciated having all to ourselves. We also had power in the treehouse and were able to charge devices. The property has two incredibly sweet and friendly dogs who guard the space from any big critters.
Water is gold up at Raven's Landing- I would recommend that guests bring plenty of their own water to respect the limited supply on the mountain, and bring lights for dark evenings!
We tent camped in ravens landing and enjoyed our time in the morning cooking ourselves breakfast in the communal area. Layla the host was very kind and welcoming. Beautiful area alive with friendly creatures <3
We had a great experience to come out of our busy routine and connect with nature. Layna made sure that we had our camping spots together and had a warm welcome party (with the two dogs and peacocks)
Unfortunately, we landed on the hottest day recorded and had to struggle a bit as there were no shade near our camping spot. Spending time in cache creek is an option if its becoming too hot during the day.

I enjoyed my time here! It’s nestled up in the mountains, with some amazing views. Recommend having a 4WD / AWD for the road up to the camp. Layna and Chris were very nice and kept me informed. There are several campsites near the beaten path, I only saw one that was fairly overgrown with invasive weeds. Recommend getting in early to get a preferred spot, as it’s kind of a communal setup. Bathroom was nice for HipCamp/rustic standards and had a decent shower and plenty of amenities. There was an additional bathroom that wasn’t as well-maintained with some cobwebs, but the main bathroom worked fine for me. Water is trucked in, so there’s a big emphasis on conservation. Didn’t have too many issues deconflicting with other campers, but it could be an issue during busy times. Free WiFi on-site! Kitchen had PLENTY of amenities, including filtered water, freezer, and fridge which was above and beyond what I have experienced at other HipCamp sites. Gas burner fire pit on-site. Great sunrise and stargazing view off the main dining porch too!
Layna was incredibly kind and the property was incredible. If you like seeing the stars, this is the place to stay. There are many amenities and lots of space to camp out or explore. The property is a little bit hard to reach, but it’s absolutely worth the drive.
Camping on Layna’s land was a relaxing stay in a beautiful natural landscape. The campground was large and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay, including shared kitchen & bathroom/shower. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks again, Layna!
Peaceful and quiet location perched on the top of a hill. The driveway is intimidating but easier than it looks! This is a great place to unwind, read a book, work on an art project as well as learn about off-grid living.
Ravens Landing was such a treat, so serene and beautiful. Perfect for our birthday gathering. The camp spots were well spaced and flat. Having a kitchen, bathroom and communal fire pit made our time so enjoyable. Layna is an absolute amazing host/person and the land cultivated here is filled intention, passion, creativity and purpose. We will definitely be back to enjoy 🙏
