Cherry Bomb is the bomb!

Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses. We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!

The best campsite and camping!

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people. It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt. Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

Dan's farm is a refuge. I'd recommend his camp sites to anyone looking to slow down and tap into the ease that's accessible on this land. Dan was a generous and kind host. We're looking forward to returning.

Plum perfect at stone creek farm

Dan was an excellent host, he provided a nice outhouse that was well kept. The tent was the perfect size. And it was gorgeous on his land. I'd go back in a heartbeat. There are plenty of things to do in the area and stores are relatively close if anything is needed.

We head back to Stone Creek Farm every year. It's so beautiful there, and easy with tents already set up for you. With Franconia, Taylors Falls, and lots to do nearby, it's the perfect weekend getaway for us and our kids.

Beautiful Land, Amazing Host

Dan is a wonderful host and owns some absolutely gorgeous land. I will be back! Be prepared for a small but beautiful hike out to your camp site. Bathrooms are as good as it gets, tents are huge and the bonus of not needing to setup is amazing, and the access to one of the most beautiful state parks is uncanny. If you have the legs for it I would absolutely recommend touring this area on bike. The descent into Taylor’s falls is one of the best in the state, the climb out of the city will have your legs woken up, and the nearby Swedish Immigrant Trail is beautiful especially in the Fall.

We loved the tent, we forgot to get our jackets, but Dan is so generous, he noticed and gave 4 us jackets and beanies, it is nice and cozy, Our family had a blast with trails and in Dan’s farm, My younger daughter who is 8 not a camping girl but this time she said “can we stay longer here”. This is a wonderful experience. We are really looking forward to comeback again soon. Thanks Dan for being such a wonderful host.

Beautiful, quiet campsite was a great place to relax for the weekend! We heard and saw lots of wildlife, migrating sandhill cranes and trumpeter swans, and tons of coyotes. Close to lots of fun activities like the state park and sculpture garden. Dan was super kind and welcoming. He’s an amazing steward of the land.

So much more than camping

This is more than just camping! Dan is a wonderful host and my 10 year old loved talking with him and learning about the orchard. This was a mother/son trip and I loved having the yurt already set up. It is a little walk to the site, but I appreciated God's beauty in the early morning and at dusk to fetch our food that we left in the car. Being at Stone Creek Farm was so much more than we expected. Looking forward to visiting again! Highly recommended!

I really like this campsite. Very close to Taylor's Falls, state parks, lakes etc. Site are nice and kept up. Owner is there to help. Will be there again next year.

We spent two nights at Dan's secluded yurt tent. It was really nice to come to a spot that already had the tent set up! It is a really long walk to this site, I would guess at least 1/2 a mile. There are carts available to use, but pack light so you only need to do one trip! Dan was very welcoming and greeted us on arrival and gave us some home-made apricot strudel from his apricot trees. It was a great stay!

Exceptional Spot

Dan’s place is a true treasure. The land is beautiful, the campsites are separated enough to feel like you are out in your own little spot, and he is close to so many fun spots in the Taylor’s Falls area. Dan himself is so welcoming - greeting us when we arrived, introducing us to his sweet chickens, and giving suggestions for things to do. We would highly recommend this location!

Dan’s property is very nice-close to many fun activities in the area. Rain boots were a must due to recent rain. Tent was dry, very spacious and comfortable. The hike to the site was doable for myself and elementary aged kids but it’s a solid 10-15 minute walk - through mud and puddles (we had proper footwear so we didn’t mind!) We had pretty great weather and luckily the mosquitoes were not too bad but I would imagine that can change depending on the temps/weather. Bring your fav bug spray, rain boots, plenty of flashlights and you’re in good shape. Great to meet you Dan! -Claire

Camping on this property was an excellent experience (despite the rain). Dan was very helpful both before and when we arrived. The campsite is lovely, and he's made sure the yurt does not let in a drop. Loved seeing his chickens, and an easy walk to the site. Would absolutely recommend.

Plum Perfect lived up to its name!

I was looking for a first solo camping experience and found Dan's Stone Creek Farm on this site. I was not disappointed! The reality matched the beautiful photos and it probably helped that I also happened to be there in spectacular weather - very warm during the day and pretty cool at night. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and smiling Dan and a flock of adorable chickens. Dan is a wonderful and attentive host and I can't recommend a stay at his place highly enough. For this gal (I am 69), it was quite a physical challenge to cart all of my things into the campsite (four trips!), but very much worth it! For a person more fit and perhaps a little younger, you may not even blink an eye. I camped at the Plum Perfect site, which is very cozy and private. The tent is spacious. The fire ring had a grill nearby. The entire property itself is absolutely beautiful and Dan does a wonderful job of having mixed plantings of lovely flowers planted here and there, along with his business of growing various stone fruits. You won't be disappointed by the rugged beauty of the campsites and Dan's warm and thoughtful conversations. I hope to return in the fall, if I can wait that long!

Dan was SO welcoming and kind! The entire farm was gorgeous and filled with love, from the orchards to the campsites and beyond. Dan is eager to make you feel at home and does everything he can to make sure you have whatever you need. He even let me use his WiFi when I needed to take a business call. The campsite was easy to find with an mostly flat, mowed path. The site was quiet and personal, with everything one could think of: our own compostable toilet, a grill, fire pit, garbage & recycling cans, a picnic basket, and a sturdy box to keep your foodstuffs safe. I can't wait to go back, I feel like I found a little slice of paradise just an hour away ❤️ thank you Dan!!!!!!!

My friend and I had a wonderful time! Dan was so kind and helpful, but not overbearing. We stayed in the Yurt Style Camp and was very comfortable, beautiful and pretty private. I do think there could be better signage as far as where to go from parking and for each site - we had a couple instances of people showing up to our site thinking it was theirs. The outhouse was surprisingly nice, but having a lantern or lighting would be a nice touch. I had a headlamp, but it was still a lil hard to see at night. Overall, a wonderful experience! I’d love to come back.

Stone Creek is such a beautiful place. It's so easy to come up for a weekend with kids after school on Friday since the tent is already set up for you. Dan is a wonderful host - attentive and friendly. We've been back a few times already and will be back again!

Such a beautiful farm! We were aware of the small hike leading to the "Cherry Bomb" campsite and having some carts to carry all our things was a life saver! Dan gave us a fair warning about the mosquitos, definitely spray before the hike or prepare to get eaten alive! The first online pictures are outdated, the last few with the white/orange tent is what currently is at the campsite. The tent perfectly fit 4 adults and a dog and was beautifully kept and very secluded. Firewood is $6 for a generous bundle that we got to carry ourselves to the campsite. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, such a great experience in nature!

Yurt tent campsite

Dan is very hospitable and hard working. My kids and I had a great time camping on Dan’s land. He has beautiful flowers around the property and very nice path way to walk to and from the campsite. Our campsite was private, clean and has a lot of shade. Perfect site to sit back and relax.
