We love these cabins..it's a little bit of paradise with your own little beach.. yes it's rocky but nothing water shoes can't fix if you want to swim.
We love that you can go far out and still be walking in the water. We spent lots of time swimming and floating.
We had some friends join us with their little boy and they also loved it. We did have to buy firewood for 3 days while waiting for them to come back and replenish the pile so that was a downfall. I messaged them when we got there (Friday) and they did not come out to fill till Monday but other then that it was a great stay.
One of the picnic tables benches was broke when we arrived so we used that one for our cooking and food table. The hot water was a little stinky so maybe just needs some softener added.
An idea for the 3rd cabin if it's not going to get fixed up with a bed would be nice for a table in it just in case it rains for somewhere to gather and eat.
This was our 3rd year and we'll be back next year.
Our favorite place to stay each summer! Has all necessities and then some. Some friends stay in the cabins and some of us threw up our tents, either is great. Lots of space for games, cooking, lounging. Will be back next year!

Mackinaw Straights Cabins
We were given the code to the cabin prior to our arrival. The cabin was clean when we arrived. The full size bed was very comfortable. My grandson used the roll a way bed and he said it was okay for sleeping on. There was kitchen towels and dish cloths provided along with some dish soap and a few dishes. There is a microwave, refrigerator, a wall heater and a fan that is provided. The shower had good water pressure and hot water. The cabin is very private which was nice. There are 2 fire pits, one near the cabin and one closer to the beach. We purchased wood from the convenience store down the road. The mosquitos and biting flies were really bad so be sure and bring spray with Deet. We also found some poison ivy so watch out for that! Being right on Lake Michigan was amazing. We had a lovely view of the bridge. Do not rent this cabin with the intentions of swimming off the beach! The water along this section of the lake is VERY rocky with some HUGE rocks, all covered in green, slimy algae. We tried going way out hoping to get past them but the rocks went on forever! All in all, we had a wonderful time at this cabin and enjoyed ourselves immensely. It was private, clean, kept us dry, was peaceful and had beautiful views. Other than the bugs and the non-swimmable water, it was just what we were looking for! Thank you for renting it to us!
Beautiful peaceful spot right on water. Clean little cabin. Just bring water shoes and bug spray for sunset and you will be good to go. Paddleboard or kayak wouldn’t hurt either. So many stars and fantastic view of bridge, especially at night. So much more privacy than the campground.

This was our 3rd year here. We love the little cabins and the view absolutely can not be beat, but this year one of the microwaves did not work. It shot flames instead and the hot water tanks definitely needed a flushing. The hot water smelled pretty rank. All things aside, we will almost surely be back again.
A beautiful and underrated property on the shores of Lake Michigan. The cabins offer hot showers, heat and dry comfort. Sparse but more than enough for a camping trip. The beach and surrounding area is the gem of the north. Worth every bit of the drive. There are two cabins for each rental which isn't clear in the listing but a welcome surprise!

We love this place. The cabins right on your own little piece of beach is perfect. Our kids love spending a day just throwing rocks into the lake and swimming.
It's close to Mackinaw City and the bridge for a day trip to the UP.
This is our second year coming
Had the best time reconnecting with friends here and plan to come back next summer. The cabins were clean and the grass on the property was luscious and great for pitching our tent. Kind of close to neighbors but still private enough to not bother each other. We liked that it was close enough to a small trading post that had all the supplies and drinks we needed.

Nice lake view for watching freighters and the bridge. Rocky beach not the best for swimming. Provided two types of firepits and wood. Cabins were dated but very nice.
We enjoyed 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend, simple cabin set up - appreciated the bathroom and small kitchen area… (normally tent camp) Queen and twin bed in each cabin as well. The beach was wonderful for rock hunting, we saw a bald eagle swoop down while eating breakfast out there too! Close to the bridge - great starting point for a UP and/or Mackinac Island day trip!
Very nice and private campsite. Cute little cabins with an amazing view! We come here as a family every year and we always book this same site. Highly recommend! It is also only 20 minutes from Mackinaw City which is an added bonus for the kids.

This was perfect for our family of 6! We only stayed for 2 nights and are always planning to come back for longer! We expected another bed but we made it work and would not let that hinder us from renting again! Totally worth the price!

The view you wake up to every morning is worth hundreds more!! Just don't tell them that lol.
Great views, Lake Michigan warmer in shallow bay. Water shoes a must for the rocky bottom. Mackinaw City nearby for concerts, restaurants and shopping, as well as other sandy beaches.

Rustic cabins, but I appreciated the bathrooms! Great location. We even saw the northern lights!
What a beautiful place! We loved skipping rocks and sitting by the fire listening to the waves. There was a little trading post 4 miles away that we were able to buy the things we forgot to pack. We went to Mackinac Island, went to the Sand Dunes, Dark Park, and more- this was the perfect secluded cabin close to all sorts of options! I would definitely stay again!
Location, location, location! A little cabin(s) located right on Lake Michigan! This is a great place for the whole family. We have ages 3mo- 60. There is beautiful sunrises right over the Mackinaw bridge! There is rock hunting, campfires(wood provided) , splashing/swimming , stargazing enough yard for the kids to run around, a hammock to relax in , hiking , biking and Mackinaw is only 20 minutes away.

The cabins are great. This is the 2nd time renting them. A screen tent is always good to bring. Water shoes are a must. The lake is rocky but nice farther out. The grounds are always kept up nice.
Just make sure you get the correct keycode and check it. Maybe a phone number that can contact a human instead of an answering machine to nowhere. Given the wrong code on Monday, then given another wrong code by phone about 4pm on check in day on Tuedsay, drove to site. Wrong code again. Called to get correct number, got the answering machine(Director) . No reply until Wednesday around noon. Nice hours Doug, Slept in car. Finally got a number to call from a park ranger and talked to Kathleen.
She did not have the correct code and we were having poor reception, but she messages us quickly withe the correct code. Thank you, Kathleen.
Other than that slight inconvenience, three days and two sore backs for the price of four days, a great stay.
Another too-short stay. Recent improvements to the cabin are appreciated.

Nice spot with a nice beach and a great view of the bridge! Cabins are basic but everything you need is there. Fire pits and firewood was available and a grill for cooking on them as well. There's a little general store down the road for supplies and you're not too far from Mackinaw city and some nice beaches, dunes, and motorcycle roads.
