Welcome to Ouachita River Haven! Nestled between Ouachita National Forest property and the Ouachita River, our Haven is a peaceful little slice of nature for you to take a break, catch your breath, and enjoy the outdoors! Property has 1000 ft of river access, with canoe & kayak docks, swimming hole, volleyball and tetherball, horseshoes, swings. We offer hiking, mountain biking, and river shuttles as well as canoe/kayak/tube rentals and shuttles. Such trips should be reserved in advance by messaging us or visiting our website. Our office sells firewood for $5/bundle. We also have a small array of custom woodwork items from our woodshop, freeze dried snacks and hiking restocks, food from local vendors, and souvenirs! All primitive sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and campfire grill grate. Electric sites are 30 amp, if using for tent camping you will need a 3-prong converter (we can rent one to you for $5 if you do not have your own). RV/Camper MAXIMUM length is 28 feet. Tipi rental is a camping experience only; it does not have electricity, a/c or heat. There are solar lights inside. We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night. Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. A/C, heat, electricity, TV & DVDs, Microwave, and Mini fridge are inside. Guests use campground restrooms Campground restrooms and showers are a short walk from campgrounds. We are pet-friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times that they are not in a tent or camper and friendly with other dogs and people. There is a working dog on the property-he is friendly with all people and dogs.

Loved camping here - very friendly owner and staff. The river being close is a big plus and close to a DG for supplies with access to hot springs about an hour ride east. Sites were clean and site 13 had access to a field for my Starlink. Would recommend.

The Glamping Shack

The glamping shack is just perfect for our family. The beds are cozy. The fire pit is great and the walk down to the river is so peaceful. My kiddos had fun on the tire swings and looking at bugs and rocks down by the river.

This spot was PERFECT! Right next to the river, and you get to see the area from a corner view of the property. Bathroom and showers was kept clean and was in walking distance from campsite, or easy access if you want to commute by vehicle. This spot offers you peace and tranquility. I highly recommend to anyone looking to detach from electronics, and get connected to nature.

Campsites are clean, larger than I expected and the people who run the place were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay. Would definitely recommend this place. Also because of the layout and the natural river boundary we didn’t have to worry much about critters in the campsite. Very positive experience. The ground at the sites can be kind of tough on tent stakes and your back so plan accordingly and bring a mat for your sleeping bags

What a beautiful spot and secluded location! If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind and let all your cares melt away, this is the perfect place to do just that! You'll find the views incredible, the shade welcoming, and the accomodations likeable! We definitely think if you're looking for a great getaway, that you give this spot a chance!

Second time camping at Ouachita River Haven and it was great again! Worth the 5 hr drive from DFW as this place has some pretty mountain views and nice river front access. Owners are awesome and very accommodating. We will definitely be back again.

Ouachita River Haven is one of our favorite camp grounds, this is was our second time staying and loved it just as much as the first stay. The river is directly adjacent to the camp sites so there is easy access to the water. The campground has several river fed water spigots thought. The bath house is a short walk from the camp sites and is very nice for a camp ground bathroom. The bath house includes shower stalls, flushing toilets, soap for washing hands and paper towels. The water in the bath house is potable. The hosts are excellent and made sure we were comfortable. The camp dog "Shop" is very friendly and our kids and dog loved him. The host also offers firewood for a reasonable price, this is very convenient when hauling all the gear needed for tent camping. The host also provides trash cans and there is a dumpster on site, again very convenient to not have to allocate space for packing out. There are a few electric sites that looked very nice as well. All sites looked to have almost full shade from trees as well. All together just a great campground, we will definitely be back.

The tent camp sites were spacious and had beautiful tree arrangements. The river was very accessible and so was help from Amanda. The bathouse was very basic, but the toilets were always clean.

My spot was moved to site 13 and it was the most amazing stay. The camp sites had amazing views and the site was the best size. I had a huge part of the river to myself which was perfect.

Beautiful property! Site 14 is very peaceful. Sleeping by the flowing water was relaxing. We will definitely be back. A few very good local restaurants short drive in Mount Ida.

Ok campsite, some issues

It took a little bit to find our campsite, the sign for it was in the ground. We had paid for firewood to be at the campsite and it wasn’t there, I tried to go to the front to ask about it and no one was at the house. After I used the restroom a GIGANTIC spider came out from the side of the toilet so maybe that should be check every now and then. Other than that the site was OK. The trees overhead in the part of the campsite we were in was not really open to be able to stargaze easily.

Left first night. People around our tent while we were sleeping. No answer when asked who was there. When checked out they were about 100 feet walking away. No response or refund from owner yet. If that was the owners that is not how you check on your visitors. Very Scketchy

Place was clean. Great secluded location. Enjoyed the Independence Day fireworks on site. Spacious cabin with rustic yet homely touch. We are used to hard beds so beds didn’t feel as comfortable but manageable. Soooo many birds, no light pollution so we could see the milky way. Will go back !

Our stay was amazing!!! The hosts were so nice. The property was beautiful. My family and I were able to camp, fish, swim, grill, play games and so much more!!! They offer firewood, kayaking, vest for swimming, WiFi. My family and I will make it a tradition to camp here twice a year. Thank you for an amazing stay!! Did I mention the property was special needs friendly!!! They have the sweetest pet dog on property who protected us as if he was a part of our family.

We loved it, it was quiet, relaxing, and only a short walk to the bathhouse. The toilets were clean, and the big roomy showers were a treat. We are already planning another trip with some younger members who would love the chance to go on a kayak float trip.

Great site next to the river

River Haven is such a wonderful find! It’s right next to the river under a canopy of trees. We stayed at sight 13, which was perfectly tucked into a corner between the river and a large field behind us. There were also clean bathrooms and showers. The owner was also super friendly and accommodating.

The camper was quaint and cozy and just steps from the restrooms. The air conditioner was a great addition and we were thankful to have it, but our littles were over the moon with the dvd player and movies available. We would totally visit again!

This was a very quiet and peaceful campground. Falling asleep to the sound of the river was so relaxing. The host was friendly and kind.

Camping under the stars

I drove here in my dodge avenger for a weekend getaway to do some crystal digging nearby, this site was beautiful for tent camping. My partner and I will definitely be returning. Host was extremely helpful and responsive. Highly recommend staying at any of these sites! Perks include: Ouachita river access, a creek that runs through the property, bathrooms and showers on site, firewood on site, a volleyball court and more!

We had a wonderful time here! Site 11 is a little smaller than the others, but it was also more secluded and very shady which we loved. Kasey and Amanda are gracious hosts. Kasey checked on us every day to make sure we had everything we needed. Ouachita River Haven is a beautiful campground and Kasey does an amazing job keeping it clean and has the best grass we have ever seen at a campground! This was our second stay here and we will definitely come back even though it's 800 miles from home!

Beautiful campground with great tent sites. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and checked in often to make sure all was going well. The grounds were clean and well maintained. It was quite a long hike to the bathroom, but that was the only problem I could find. I'd highly recommend them.
