This campsite was a hidden gem. My boyfriend and I had the whole site to ourselves. It was an experience I’ll never forget. We found tons of Native American artifacts laying around and so many beautiful swimming spots in crystal clear water. You can see small mouth bass in the water. Walter, the host, was very kind, helpful and checked in with us periodically to make sure we were doing good. He sells eggs, firewood and has potable water and ice on property. There was no service out there but this was not a problem for me. Wi-Fi is available at some sites. Saw a few friendly doggie running around, one old lady dog stayed watch each night at our camp. We will definitely be back. Such an amazing place!

1 night at Indian Lakes Resort

This hidden treasure was an amazing place to stay! The lake was beautiful and had so many fun activities and slides for the kids to play on. Tommy was very helpful and welcoming, I hope we have a chance to make it that way again!

2 nights at Thunder Mountain Private River Camp

Really cool place to stay. The river was super chill and relaxing. The whole place was comfortable, bath house area was lovely and convenient. Several trails to explore. Host was very responsive and welcoming. I would love to stay there again!

1 night at Hot Springs Resort Oaklawn & Baths

We had a great stay! The site was level, hookups worked great and the whole park was clean, new and very nice. We loved the dog park, and felt very safe with our 3 year old riding around on his bike. The location was very close to downtown Hot Springs and there was also a really cool park/playground in the neighborhood. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Hot Springs!

Weekend Trip to Valley of peace campground

This was a great place to camp, especially in the summer with the cool spring fed creek to swim and play in. The camp sites are clean and the site we stayed at (site 6) was right on the creek which is exactly what we were looking for. The kiddos and doggos loved playing and cooling off in the creek. We were the only campers at the time, so we let our dogs run off leash and they loved the freedom. Mr. Walter’s cattle dogs visited the camp site and were friendly. Mr. Walter stopped by to say hello and drop off an umbrella for the table at the site. He has items available for purchase that campers often forget and run out of (wood, ice, eggs, trash service, etc) so that’s nice! We will definitely go back and recommend to friends!

Very organized camp sites that were well maint'ained. The river is gorgeous 😍 and cool if youre there during summer. Wifi accessible if you are nearby 1 or 2, I'm sure you can get it in others we just didn't camp there. A lot of accessories needed for camping such as ice, great firewood (a mix of hardwood and softwood), in generous amounts. Fresh eggs from the farm that were delicious and at a great price. Walter makes himself known once a day to see if you need anything, which is helpful. Make sure you bring bug spray and at least two citronella candles as well as some sun block. Camping next to water you have to expect insects, it is what it is.

Very nice little spot in the woods! Just right for a budget friendly getaway. Check in was easy and the place was just as described.

3 nights at Open-air Meditation Sanctuary

This camp is located a few miles from Eureka Springs but feels very remote and private. The grounds were extremely lush (late June with a wet spring season) and absolutely beautiful, serene, and peaceful. It is a natural setting however the grounds are well kept, including the OMS trail! What a treasure! Highly recommend experiencing this phenomenal trail with the meditation stations each situated so well within the natural setting and with a laminated sheet giving some guidance and inspiration on a contemplative path to expanded consciousness with a strong reverence for Mother Gaia! I am just obsessed with my experience on the trail on alone! I camped in my tent 3 nights and this is one of my favorite hip camps! Clear communication with the host. Was as advertised! And way better! Super kind and laid back hosts, willing to assist with whatever! Campsite was private but short walk to well water spigot, short walk to delightful composting out house, and a short walk to the communal hot tub which is top notch-comfortable with excellent jets, hot water, no chemicals and clean! Privacy is respected! Nice outdoor shower with hot tub. Night sky is amazing! The views are beautiful! On the trail the land feels deeply sacred! It was super convenient that you can drive to your campsite! Pet friendly and my dog was living his best life there! I will definitely return and I highly recommend!

My family and I enjoyed our stay and Indian Lakes. The staff was friendly and really diligent with coming for trash and taking care of the facilities. Our campground was away from other sites and a little more secluded which we enjoyed. The site was all gravel which was not as ideal for our 19-month-old, so I might consider a different site if bringing a toddler. We had a good time overall!

2 nights at Thunder Mountain Private River Camp

The host has seriously thought of everything here. From the outdoor games, comforts in nature, vintage soda machine, and watercrafts available, it is awesome. We absolutely loved our stay! We enjoyed the private site, pedal boating, swimming with our dogs, and the luxurious shower house. Taking a bath while overlooking the water was stunning! It was amazing to have comforts like a bathtub, shower, and flushing toilet while camping! We can't wait to go back.

This campground far exceeded our expectations! The creek was beautiful, clean, and clear and we got some nice sized bass. Our weekend was expected to be hot and it was a nice surprise when we pulled up and the table provided had an umbrella as well! Site 5 got great shade. Keep in mind the ground on this site is sandy - which has its pros and cons. We’ll definitely be back!

We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night. Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. Back in 2018, when the land was FIRST acquired, there was only a water spigot and a 14x14 structure that was basically a glorified shed... Now we refer to it as the Gallery Cabin. Its slowly gaining local art work pieces for display and purchasing... Now, 7 years later, we have created many fun spaces and built many structures for our many hobbies and passions. We have built a small workshop, a rock cutting/shaping/soil mixing area, Shipping Container workshop and decked out a shed with a work station and a long marble counter top. We have built a 3-level tree fort with a crow's nest and a 10x12 screened Bungalow in the woods. This is a great spot to have less chance of bugs at night, still have electricity for Lights and phone charging. We have also created a large garden with 9 beds, using various aspects of Permaculture, including several Hugelculture beds. We created a comfortable and private outside shower in the upper corner of the garden, that is perfect after a long day of having our hands in the soil! (Named the "Flower Shower" as we grow various seasonal flowers, Sage and some beautiful Poppies that can be seen from the shower.) It's now equipped with Propane heat for optional warm showers year long. Because this is Arkansas, and we live at the top of a ridge, our topsoil is mainly clay and rocks... so one of the first endeavors we started was creating a 5 bin mass composting system to build up our soil for our gardens. We found grocery stores and coffee shops to donate hundreds of pounds of old produce and coffee grounds. Since our arrival we have made over 6000+ lbs of beautiful compost and continue to do so today! We are a pet friendly place. We also get rare bookings being a SnifSpot ( Dog Park) But all dogs must be leashed or proven ( caretaker onsite approval) of being off leash trained. The only Exception is Miguel-dog. He has been on the property with us for 3+ years. Very gentle and calm. He usually needs to greet you, then you can be free. He can be separated if need. (Aggressive dogs are NOT allowed. Thanks.) We have a resident, neutered male cat named, Hikari aka "Ari." He is dog friendly. However if your dog chases cats, please keep your dog leashed. We have planted 10 fruit and nut trees and started a 'Berry Orchard'. We also have a small vineyard consisting of about 15 trained Muscadine vines. Closer to the house is a wonderful Herb Spiral that showcases of up to 20 medicinal and cooking herbs and we have a dozen more herbs in the other garden and around our land as well. We also have been planting a food forest outside the garden area, growing PawPaw trees, Gooseberries, Jerusalem Artichokes and Opossum grapes for the critters... so they may leave our actual garden alone, but they can still come close to get a tasty snack. We also built a large chicken coop for 4 egg layer chickens, 4 ducks and 3 guineas that free range our yard during the day. Our numbers vary year to year. There is over a mile plus of trails through our woods, criss-crossing over our seasonal springs that we have built bridges over. Our trails go up and down the mossy topped valleys and ridges with many places to comfortably stop and rest along the way. One aspect about all this that we are extremely proud of, is that we have built 75% or more out of RECLAIMED MATERIALS and RECLAIMED LUMBER (and made it look good!) -- Learn more about this land: -- We are located only 12 miles from I-40, just north of Vilonia. Our Homestead Farm: Barefoot Gardens, is on 8 acres of hardwood forest, where we use various Permaculture techniques to grow over 140+ varieties of various herbs, fruits, vegetables, trees and flowers! The nights here are peaceful and filled with the soothing sounds of treefrogs. Fireflies dance in the night air as the stars peak thru the leaves overhead! (We commonly camp in our own yard for this exact same reason!) Besides multiple camping locations and a beautiful forest, we also host over a dozen Educational Workshops and Homestead Demonstrations! Small Retreats and events are also being brought forth. Most all workshops/demonstrations are kid friendly as well! (Workshops are listed below in this description. They are also listed in the 'Extras' section of our HC profile.) Here at Barefoot Gardens, you will find many fun and interesting places to explore and enjoy! Here is a list of some of our favorites! - A 10x12 secluded, screen enclosed, roofed platform (10x12) is available for camping in the forest. This location is 600 ft. from parking area. Electricity is provided (No A/C or heat, please!) A firepit with a metal cooking grill are also provided. A compost toilet is attached to the backside of the platform as well. Multiple hiking trails intersect near and around this area! - Tent camping is available in various locations throughout the yard and forest, with available access to electricity and water (No A/C or heat, please!) - Plenty of great places to hang up hammocks! (Including our 3 level Tree fort!) - RV's and pull behind camper's welcome! (up to 30 feet only please) Only very QUIET generators are allowed! If you need to run your A/C or heat for extended periods of time, while hooked into our electricity, please add $10 onto each day you stay with us! And NO... you cannot empty your black water tank here. [7 day maximum stay, please!] - Fire Pits available next to campsite locations, the bungalow or at the community area by our Rocketshop. - An outside heated shower located in the large garden AKA 'The Flower Shower" (warm season only.) - Over a mile of hiking trails, with bridges that cross over seasonal springs and moss covered ridges. Trails go up and down several valleys and ridges, so there are several rest spots along the way. Thunder Mountain Private River Camp

80+ acres all to yourself!! This beautiful and very secluded property, with river, kayaks, trails, and creeks is offered to only one group at a time to ensure peace, quiet, and seclusion. No other guests will overlap your stay. You will enjoy the peaceful solitude in nature completely alone! (Note on trails: Some trails are a little rough due to forest thinning operations that were done in Dec '24. We hope to have the trails back in great shape soon.) The last 1/2 mile of dirt road is sometimes rough, so cars with low ground clearance are not recommended. Welcome to Barker Gap! Opened in August 2024 we offer 3 beautifully shaded rv/camper spots, 2 pull thru spots and 1 back in. We have NO size or slide out restrictions, our spots were built with your comfort in mind. All spots come standard with 50A/30A/110 electric hookup, city water, Bbq/park grill, stone fire pit and sewage hookup at every campsite. Wi-Fi is also included for all campers. At this time we do not have bathrooms available to tent camping or any primitive style camping. The BEAR'S DEN cabin is a 1 room 1 bathroom cabin. Built to sleep 4 with a spacious queen bed perfect for falling asleep on, a cozy twin bed for reading/sleeping, and stowed under the twin bed is an adventure cot for that outside nap on the deck. The cabin is equipped with a mini fridge/freezer, a Keurig coffee maker, and a microwave) inverter. In the bathroom we have a metal wrapped 22" deep soaking tub equipped with a rainfall shower head to wash the stress away. No glamping cabin would be complete without a wave activated hand dryer a 43" Wi-Fi connected smart TV and the latest plug ins with USB ports included so you can forget that charging box at home.
