    09/13/2024 Update: The forest clean-up project has concluded, and replanting has already been done. The property is not as it was before, and it will take time to be in a desirable state; however, if you are interested in having a safe base camp for your travels and don't mind the current status, I would be happy to discuss accommodating you. 04/20/2024 Update: We have been patiently waiting for a forest clean-up logging project to begin, and it has officially started. Our property has a large number of dying trees, so this is necessary to ensure the overall forest health. However, it will unavoidably disrupt the look of the property for many years to come. We will be replanting next February. For those who wish to use the property only as a safe base camp near mountain biking trails, I’ll happily invite you to stay, but if you’re looking for a picturesque forest setting, you’ll want to check back in with us in a couple of years. ----- This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old growth forest, and a phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet except for the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. The property is minutes away from Blanchard Mountain Trail head. There are numerous biking and hiking trails within a short distance, and while we aren't yet at the point of building trails here at the property, that will be coming shortly. This property was once a show home, but a fire occurred over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the remaining ruins are minimal, it sets an exciting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photo shoot. We have been actively working on cleaning up the property, but there are occasional spots where we find leftover fire debris that the previous occupant scattered throughout the property. If you find such a spot during your stay, please let us know. Within the property is a small orchard with apples, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, and plumbs. While you are welcome to graze during your stay, we ask that you not harvest a great deal to ensure enough for everyone to enjoy. There are fish in the pond, and though fishing is allowed, we can not claim what type or ease due to the nature of the plant growth. It is not stocked and is only fed by the area's waterways. I have been asked several times if the fire ban is still active. Yes, it is. There is no longer access to a hose, so being able to quickly put out a fire in case of an accident is also more concerning. Sadly, with the last several years of intense summers, our area is likely going to be at risk of drought again this summer. If you are interested in reserving the entire property for a completely secluded stay, please contact me directly. That option is $175 for a party of up to 20 individuals, but no more than 2 camper vans/RVs and four additional cars per night.

    This site is to near the small orchard and up a small hill. There is gravel for setting up your RV or camper van. Electricity is available at this site. Larger RV's or longer trucks and trailers may be able to setup here as well, but until some trees are removed there would be a concern of possible scraping to position your vehicle. I am currently working with the DNR to have diseased and dying trees removed, but this will take place in the fall/winter.

    This site is located at the barn and closer to the beaver pond. The ground is fairly compact for setting up your RV or camper van. Electricity is available at this site. Larger RV's or longer trucks and trailers may be able to setup here as well, but it may require a three + point turn to maneuver around. I am currently working with the DNR to have diseased and dying trees removed, but this will take place in the fall/winter, as such there are some spots with damaged trees to be aware of from the winter storm.

If you are interested in staying here, please message and if it works out I’ll be happy to accommodate you. This listing is for tent camping. If you are looking to bring a RV or van please see our other listing as power is available at two locations on the property. The trails for Blanchard Mountain Trail system are within a reasonable (walking) distance. This is a known favorite destination for hikers, mountain bikers, and nature lovers. Within a 15 minute drive you can reach Lake Padden, Lake Samish and the Oyster Dome Trailhead and more. Within twenty to thirty minutes you can find yourself exploring Larrabee State Park, Galbraith Mountain, North Chuckanut Mountain Trailhead, and many more.  If you are interested in booking the entire property for a larger group, or for full privacy please message me and we can make something work, assuming there is not already bookings. Full property booking is priced at $600 per day.  Roughly 15 minutes or less away by car you can reach an amazing variety of food establishments for the foodie within! Locations such as Breadfarm, Oyster Bar, Tweets, Train Wreck, and many more. Shopping is just as far away if needed (grocery, big box/chain stores, etc.)If you are interested in booking the entire property for a larger group, or for full privacy please message me and we can make something work, assuming there is not already bookings. Full property booking is priced at $600 per day.  Full disclosure: This property is in a state of "work in progress." The owner purchased it with the intent to make it a nature reserve, but the time and effort has not been put into it to clean it up until now. As time permits, the property will be revived with amenities to provide a more comfortable experience, including restrooms with showers, activities, and a club house within the barn. We are even discussing reviving the swimming pool! However; at this time, we are choosing to open it up for campers, so long as it is clear that this space is not fully manicured. There are still plenty of locations for camping, hiking, relaxing, and bird/animal watching. If you choose to bring a pet with you, please make sure to pickup after them and ensure they are secured/safe at night. We are told there have been cougar sightings in the area. NOTICE: There is video surveillance covering a handful of locations, including the entrance, barn, and driveway(s) for security purposes. Audio recording is not enabled. The cameras are not hidden, but are also not obtrusive.

    Beautiful setting in rural Skagit County. Follow the ample directions provided, and you'll find yourself in a lush, private, quiet area surrounded by leafy beauty. Two days went by before running into other campers on the property. There is much to explore just walking around the pond, burned building, and orchard. 10-15 minute drive to great restaurants and everything you might need. You are by a pond – with bug spray, I was protected. Easy to find and easy to stay at :)

    There were several roosters in the area that began cock-a-doodle-doing around 4:30am each morning. I wear ear plugs, but they were no match for the roosters. I believe there were three of them scattered around several of the neighboring properties. Otherwise, this is a nice site. Though it could use a toilet and water option.

    Lovely area in northern Washington, with apples and blackberries! There were a few hiccups with the site leading to a double booking, but it’s a big enough property to accommodate. Signage would be helpful, as there are a couple of splits in the property road that lead to different campsites. Pamela was very responsive throughout the process.

    We needed a last minute place to stay on lir way back from BC. We used it as a base to ride at Galbraith. Quiet, peaceful, and secluded. Beautiful property. I’d stay here again.

    My family and I really enjoyed our time at Pamela's campsite. She was very friendly and gave us plenty ideas to do with our kids and even gave us a family pass to the children's museum. Which was very nice of her. The campsite itself is very peaceful we even had a neighbor dog come visit and he was super friendly . My kids really enjoyed being able to ride their bikes and play without worrying about traffic or other campers. We will definitely be back

    Beaver Pond is close to many activities, but far away enough to enjoy quiet camping. Communication was quick and easy as was access to the property. Pamela was super helpful and kind when my car broke down. I am looking forward to staying here again.

    Overall, this spot turned out to be a great place to stay for a few days. Our dogs loved exploring the property, it felt very private and quiet, and it is in a good location fairly close to things to do. No hassle check-in and check-out. As of right now (Aug 2022) I would say it is not ideal for anything larger than a van or about 8 feet tall. We have a class A motorhome and a pickup truck. The path to the campsite has many low-hanging trees and branches sticking out that the truck was able to clear, but the motorhome scraped through. The only other slight “negative” is that it is a little pricey for no hookups other than 15amp electric. Now, the property owners are very transparent and make it clear that this is a new endeavor and a work in progress. They were wonderful with communicating and making sure we had everything we needed, gave lots of tips and had a list of things to do nearby, grocery stores, etc. I have full confidence that this place will be everything they are envisioning and I look forward to returning in the future and seeing the property restored to its full potential.

    I just needed a quick safe overnight spot on my climbing trip. It was quiet (except the occasional car) and very lush & lovely. The location was clean and easy to navigate to. Pamela was super helpful & communicative — all of the instructions were spot on! The only thing that would make it better is a toilet of some kind (port a potty, composting …) Bonus: I saw a cute little bunny in the morning!

    Pamela was very friendly and communicative. Our request was quickly approved, she gave thoughtful and detailed descriptions, and checked in on us to make sure we're doing okay. Despite how easy it was to get to her land (about 5 minutes off the highway), it felt secluded. The entire property was surrounded by lush green trees and shrubs. We did some early season berry picking. Each site felt private, even though they were close to one another. There was plenty of flat grassy areas for tent camping.

    Very private site for a small RV. The site I had was a little tricky to navigate but plenty of space to enjoy. Great location to all the activities from La Conner to Blaine. Host was super responsive. Will definitely go back. Tip-pop up screen tent was a life savor.

    Site is enclosed with woods and leaves and you feel like you are in a secluded camp far from the road even though you didn't have to bush wack to get there. The drive in is smooth and there are some nice level spots. The power worked great and getting in was easy. We enjoyed our stay.

    Pamela was super communicative and helpful when navigating the parking spots, addressing minor issues with lock access, and sharing ideas for things to do! We loved seeing all the neat slugs, hearing birdsongs, and eating salmonberries on the property. Would stay again!!!

    We brought our RV to Pamela's Beaver Pond. Entry was easy, and so was finding our campsite. Bird watching was great! We didn't see any beavers, but we saw chewed evidence that they were close. The location felt very safe. A tent camper arrived after us, but we neither saw nor heard them. Plenty of privacy. It was a great home base for three days.

    Lovely place. Close to I 5 for easy access but far enough away to be nice a peaceful. It was muddy/slippery during our stay which is expected in the current weather. We enjoyed our stay and would be back! Hosts were very responsive, friendly and helpful!

    My partner and I had a great time staying at Pamela’s. She gave good recommendations and communicated clearly with us the whole time. Despite rain, we had a good time and enjoyed picking blackberries and hanging out in our very private campsite :)

    We enjoyed our stay at Pamela's camp. It is my favorite camp of the ones we stayed in Washington. It is quiet and offers a great chance to observe birds in the surrounding trees and in the adjacent beaver swamp. You can hear owls at night. The location offers easy car travel to the coast and the Bellingham area. We were alone during our stay. If someone else had camped on a lower level near the barn there would still be a great deal of privacy. At the site that can be used by an RV, there is a very useful electric hookup. You do have to import enough water for your needs. I note that there is a toilet at the gas station and showers at state park and Lake Padden. We had a 19' trailer and it was a tight fi. For smaller trailers or a camper van it would be fine. Consider bringing some loppers or a small pruning saw for a few branches, although it may be more trimmed by the time you arrive.
