You will need to bring your own bedding, toiletries, and utensils for cooking. Please leave the cabin exactly as you found it. Learn more about this land: Rustic bunkie located on 2 acres, is nestled among the trees beside a small, crystal clear lake. With 700 ft of untouched shoreline, privacy is second to none. From this lake, you can access 3 other lakes by provided canoe/kayak without portage. The site is 35 min. from Algonquin Park and 11 km from MKC, the world-famous white water paddling centre. 10x10 main floor with sleeping loft. Solar power provides lighting & a propane furnace for cool nights. Solar lights outside provide ambient lighting-may be turned off if preferred. The call of the loons & the barred owl will be your lullaby as you drift off to sleep after a day of hiking, paddling, or swimming.  There is no running water, you will have to bring your own drinking water. You will need to bring everything you require for cooking, eating and washing dishes. There is no sink, stove, or BBQ on site. As the site is off-grid, there are no appliances. There is a split log bench beside the self-contained fire pit.  Please bring your own firewood, matches/lighter,  and/or firestarter materials. Small fires only please, as this is a well-treed location. Fires must be extinguished prior to going to bed — there is a bucket by the firepit. If you are wondering if something is there, I suggest you reach out to check with me before arrival. There is a new private outhouse on site. The outhouse is past the bunkie along the path. Solar lights work with the flick of a switch — one switch by the door, one by the bed. You have access to 2 kayaks and 1 canoe, 2 adult lifejackets. These are located on the waterfront between the bunkie and the house @260 Matcheski Road. Please return these as you found them after each use. They are shared with the guests at the house. It is a natural shoreline at the bunkie, with a sandy bottom — pretty good swimming, actually! Absolutely no harsh chemicals/detergents in the water! Please leave the site tidy and as you found it. Take your garbage and recycling. This is a small lakeside community —  no loud music, please. Respect the solitude!  Please respect the natural setting — leave it as you found it, do not cut live growth.

This property was settled by the Irish in the mid 1800’s. Originally inhabited by Algonquin peoples the land was cleared for farming and they erected several building including a large German style hand hewn timber frame barn which still stands and is used today. The farm house was built in the 1910 and the original log cabins have been reframed into artistic buildings. It is wild to look around and imagine what life was like before now in a time when the land had no boundry lines and was traversed by indigenous peoples of this area. The cottage is at the edge of a large wilderness area. We supply an ultra-safe large canoe with paddles and lifejackets. It's an easy and fun 15 minute paddle to reach the cottage. The cottage is an artistic gem on a safe and quiet lake with beavers and loons and numerous bird species -- owls, herons, hawks, ospreys, and many migratory songbirds. In over 20 years of experience on the lake, we've seen no bears. It's a cosy three-room place with a small bedroom (8x12) with an antique double bed; a main room (16 x12) with a single bed; and a kitchen (8X12). Sleeps 3, max. Access to the cottage is up a short set of irregular stone stairs from the lake. This could be an impediment for elderly or frail people. The lake is not a private lake. There are other cottages. But it's a very quiet lake and often there's no one else there. The landscape is very similar to Algonquin Park's. North Kawartha is famous as the birthplace of the canoe. This is a thinly-populated landscape of rugged granite bluffs, thickly-forested hills and valleys, and gorgeous lakes that remain quiet and peaceful even during the hottest summer weeks. This place was made by and for lovers, artists, poets, musicians, dreamers, writers, environmentalists, ecologists, escapists...and their children. Enjoy!

Totally private, beautiful lake. The dome was super well set, bed was extremely comfortable. Had all the amenities you needed. All we brought was our own food the rest was taken care of. Communication was great. Toilet was very clean, barely any smell for an outhouse. Plenty of fire wood for the duration we were there and potable water. Dock was nice and new and all chair were well taken care of and clean. The shower was great for a quick rinse off, however wish there was one actually by the dome, this being said it was a 30 seconds walk to the main cottage. We assumed the sauna was also by the dome but was also at the main cottage. Would 💯 go back and stay again.

Just as described, perfect sturdy rustic cabin just feet from the water, amazing view. There are neighbours, but its well-treed between. We rented kayaks and packed around the island. Site also has its own pedalboat that seats 2. Katie was a great host, great communication, provided ample firewood and also propane for Coleman Stove, grills for field and cooking instruments. Only thing we didn't realize, we knew we had to bring toiletries but didn't realize that also meant toilet paper. Thankfully we brought some for other parts of our holiday. Outhouse was clean and spacious. We'll recommend this to others for sure.

Weekend Trip to Algonquin Lakeview Glamping Dome

This was one of the best places I have stayed at. Beautiful piece of property; they have everything you could need (except I would recommend bringing a hatchet/axe if you plan on having a fire), and it was nice to disconnect. It was incredibly private, quiet, and relaxing. We got to see a couple of loons, a moose and Benny the beaver popped up! Buggy, but that is to be expected out in the woods. Will definitely be back in the future!!

Weekend Trip to Pedja’s Tree House

It is a beautiful place surrounded by pure wilderness. Staying in the treehouse was an amazing experience — peaceful, quiet, and perfect for two people. We really enjoyed sitting outside and just taking in nature.Pedja is an amazing host, and you won’t find many like him. He made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We even went fishing together, which was completely unexpected but ended up being the best part of our stay. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and genuinely made the experience special.There’s also a beautiful trail nearby if you enjoy walking and exploring. We had a great time overall and would definitely come back again. He even allowed us to stay a couple of extra hours, and there was plenty of firewood for a perfect campfire.

This beautiful spot feels so tucked away and blends in so well to the forest it lives inside.

Julie is one of the best hosts I've dealt with!! She's extremely personable and so sweet! I mentioned in my booking message the fact my fiancee and I recently got engaged and we found a very sweet note left by Julie congratulating us!!! The camp itself is very easy to find and HUGE!! Julie left us a healthy supply of bug spray and provided us with a bug net for the bed! All in all it was well worth it the location was gorgeous and the host was so friendly!!!

4 nights at Highland Farms N Stables

We are long time tenters, but this year we decided to try something different and we found this campground with the mini cabins. I will stay here at the outset that we enjoyed this place very much and we stayed for six nights. The cabins are very well kept and clean and also very private. Fortunately for us, there were no other campers on site when we were there but even if the campsite were full you would still have plenty of privacy. The owners are also super friendly and helpful. We felt that the location was very Central to all of the other day activities that we carried out. We were able to visit several provincial parks during our stay and used this campsite as our base. We earlier had purchased a season pass for the provincial parks which paid for itself after just a few days. You can drive in several directions from this campsite and enjoy wonderful scenery, as well as several provincial parks. A brief ride into Bancroft if you want to re-enter civilization for a while and grab a quick coffee. Bancroft also has a wonderful little park right in the middle of town. Maynooth itself has several nice little shops that you can pick up some souvenirs or other essential items. Locals are warm and friendly. Bring extra water with you or pick it up at the entrance on the way into the campsite. Also, the mattress in the bed area may not be to everyone's liking and you may need some extra padding,so keep that in mind. We highly recommend this place.

A nice and cozy spot to stay. The bunkie is comfortable and bigger than you'd expect, it really is a good base for adventures in the region. Quiet and private as well. We'll be coming back I'm sure!

1 night at Glamping Under the Stars

We loved the overall camping experience. The camp was well equipped with all the necessary tools and equipments. We were wondering how we set up the grill. But the things were quite easy. The site was very clean. The only problem we found was with the washroom. Although it was already said and the picture was shown, we didn’t expect much greater than what we found. The tent was good enough for 9 or 10 people if you are ready to adjust. There were 4 mosquito nets which was good enough for 8. But sincerely there wasn’t much mosquitos or flys at the time we went. Julie was quite welcoming. We went straight to her house how the map said, but she directed us to the camp site accurately. And she also gave us extra time to checkout. And we should always follow leave no trace and garbage must be disposed properly. Overall it was a great experience, we recommend it to everyone.

Weekend Trip to Limerick Lake Camping

What an incredible property the hosts have! Everything was perfect. The renovated boat house was the perfect spot for us. From the cozy interior to the incredibly comfortable bed!! The side deck facing the lake with the firepit right there was amazing. I regret not bringing our fishing rods though. I would absolutely recommend this spot. The hosts were quick to greet us and bring us ice and firewood. We will definitely be back again! Thank you again for everything
