Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield. The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion. It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church. There are two cabins now on the property, but one is brand new and private and not accessible- it will be vacant for your stay. There is also a private sauna, but is also not accessible.
The cabin pictured is in the middle of a private 5-acre property across from Turtle Lake and spans turtle lake road, to Donnelly and Poke Road, so it’s easily defined by the roads around the land. There is no direct access to the lake, but there are many lakes and beaches within a short drive. There are also many quaint towns to visit, beautiful hiking trails to explore all nearby.
The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available.
This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

Marcin was an extraordinary host! He goes above and beyond to make us have comfortable and enjoy our stay. He even toured us in his property. This camp is so beutiful. If you ever have an important event or milestone this place will be a perfect venue. The barn and the river are my top favorite sight! The campgrounds are so clean and flat. Even our little dog had the time of his life exploring the place. Our kids also enjoyed swimming in the river and the playground. They even have real bathrooms and showers. Thank you Marcin for hosting us. We will surely be back with a much bigger group of friends!

I stayed in “The Poor House” and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable “camp” experience. Everything you need to have a stress free getaway is here. 2 nights at That Place In The Woods
Gorgeous cabin and campsite near Muskoka and Gravenhurst. The cabin was clean, the shower was surprisingly nice, and it was super affordable for a few nights away. The parking spot was big enough for our truck and the 17 foot boat we were towing, and the path into the cabin has lights so it’s easy to get back to even at night.
The only slightly confusing thing is that there are multiple unused cabins, and this is the “bear cabin,” which is one that’s to the left.
The host also has firewood on site and a place for trash and recycling that are a safe distance from the cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

This site is absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite places I've visited. The private beach was amazing to watch the sunsets and perfect for swimming and taking out our inflatable boat. The site did have a bit of a decline but once we set up our air mattress the other way we had no issues. Unfortunately we didnt get to meet Lisa but we were on the water most of the time we stayed.
The water was super close to the site which I loved! We got to see lots of wildlife such as deer, turkey, vultures, geese and even a bald eagle! The outhouse hadn't yet been updated and we noticed quite a bit of trash inside and a bees nest but after our stay it was updated. I will definitely be booking this site again, thank you so much for having us!

The valley is absolutely gorgeous. My sister and I bunkie 2 for a night since we were on a fishing trip.
We were absolutely stoked with how clean and warm the bunkie was. The netted porch is absolutely gorgeous. You feel so small here with cliffs around you. It makes you really appreciate the earth and abundance that is here.
It's private, not "back country" private, but private in its own way surrounded by fields of flowers and apple trees. (I did eat one, it was so good)
The wagon was a huge plus to load gear. Made it easy.
We brought a jet boil and stove for cooking our food at night and making coffee for the mornings.
There is a spiritual energy here, and if you are that type of person, you will love it even more then someone who's not.
I definitely want to come back on a solo healing trip to rejuvenate myself.
Maple jars for water was absolutely stylish and functional- I loved it.
Out house was clean. I imagine if all shared it might get a little off, but nothing like what you see at public places etc.
Kelly was very welcoming from the beginning of booking until the end of our trip.

We loved camping on Gary’s land. He was very informative and made sure we were taken care of. Great spot for fishing, lots of bass in the pond and a great river. Just be aware there is a little bit of a trek to the spot so don’t pack too much like we did.
