This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River. -RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under -a connection to the organization, 'Black Folks Camp Too'! Nearby are several conservation areas and access to the Bruce Trail. Walking, biking or horseback riding is very pleasant on the quiet country roads around. There are many local fairs and festivals in the surrounding villages, such as the Beeton Honey Festival and Tottenham Bluegrass Festival. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. We also had a golden retriever visit us on our 2nd and last day in the cabin. She was very friendly. If ever she does wander off on your visit, its the neighbor's dog, she is not lost, she's just enjoying the nature like the rest of us.

My wife and I spent Thanksgiving weekend at Sabrina’s cabin and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect—just a 10-minute drive from Rosseau, where we found a fantastic general store that had everything we needed (including firewood). We took our dogs to a nearby beach, grabbed great pizza at Rosseau Pizzeria on the boardwalk, treated ourselves to gelato, and browsed a charming antique shop in town. The cabin itself was amazing—extremely clean, cozy, and full of personality. Sabrina has thought of everything: a full-sized fridge, coffee maker, electric heater that kept the cabin nice and toasty, and even a whole upper loft we didn’t end up needing because the pullout couch on the main floor was perfect for us. Our big dog and mini poodle had plenty of space to stretch out too. The outhouse was surprisingly spacious and spotless, stocked with toilet paper and featuring a working sink with running water both inside and outside for washing dishes. We spent most of our time by the fire pit, which was large enough for a group and surrounded by ample seating. Between the two wooden picnic tables, the big deck, and the covered area with hammocks, there were endless spots to relax, cook, and enjoy the outdoors. Even though the cabin is just off a road, the trees and forest create a real sense of seclusion and peace—you quickly forget there’s any traffic nearby. Sabrina was extremely kind and welcoming, and we couldn’t have asked for a better host. We’d happily come back!

We had a bit of trouble with the hot water at the shower, but after finicking with the ignition and propane tank we managed to get it working. TIP: you have to make sure you successfully ignited the heater which can take a dozen tries. Turn the water on and wait for 30 seconds until a continuous stream of hot water comes out.

This cabin was the perfect little getaway for our artist retreat weekend! It's cozy inside and the space heater works very well! The outside has a lot of fun play structures and hammocks to let out your inner kid (or actual kids) and the twinkle lights add a touch of magic! I have been here a few times now and it keeps getting nicer every time! It shows that there is a lot of care and love that has gone into this place :) I highly recommend checking it out!

This little cabin site was exactly what I needed. Peace, solitude, connection with nature, and calmness. From the moment we pulled into the camp road we felt at ease. This little getaway provided complete privacy, as all instruction and communications were through the app, so when we arrived all we had to do was set up, and start relaxing. A covered cooking station was offered with everything you could possibly need, plus lots of firewood to enjoy a campfire. It's a nice place to stay & I'd still recommend it, but I had different expectations for a private/secluded cabin. Good: Clean cabin with clean bedding, a wood stove & fire pit, and clean toilet & shower facilities. An "art trail" going through lovely bit of forest. Could be better: There are other cabins all around but they appear not to be in use - I would not have wanted to stay if there were other campers. The host's house is visible and while I knew it was on their "farm" I thought I would have more privacy, given it said 20 acres and secluded. For example, banging and power tools heard from another cabin and the host seemed to be hauling chairs down the trail by my rented cabin, which was rather uncomfortable for me as I was in the outdoor (though covered) shower and felt awkward walking outside and back to my cabin while still trying to brush my hair and dress after my shower. It made it uncomfortable to enjoy the space because it was not as private as I hoped. I'm sure the host is nice but I really didn't want to be encountering other people, just nature. FYIs: You can't drive up to the cabin; though parking isn't too far it is a hassle if you have to haul your gear (cooking stove, cooler, etc). Perhaps host could provide a wagon in future? One other suggestion: a scoop or cup for the wood shavings used in the compost toilet. Feels icky to use my hands in a shared space. Also, a train passes by that blows its whistle LOUD & LONG. A neighbour has a loud dirt bike :(

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. The bunkie is accessed by a staircase up to the deck and has a view of the Joseph River. There is a private swimmable beach and a spacious dock with one available boat slip. The property includes 500 feet of waterfront and is about 2 acres in total. There is plenty of room for parking. The driveway is steep and curved and just requires being cautious. If you prefer power boats and seadoos these can be rented at a nearby marina. This simple, clean, dry, and neat bunkie is comfortable and has a history of providing fantastic sleeping conditions with guests saying they had their best sleep in it. There are windows at the front and back providing a cross-breeze, assisted by a fan. The bunkie has electricity and lighting and can be used as a workspace. This location is ideal for paddlers, swimmers, hikers, artists, writers, and those interested in the additional comforts of a cabin rather than tent camping. There is a large deck, bbq, fire pit, Muskoka chairs, and outdoor eating area that can be shared with the host. Confirm details with host. Minimum stay 2 nights

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. The kitchenette provides basic amenities, including coffee maker, kettle, microwave and air fryer/convection/toaster oven. A 2-burner cooktop is available, however there is no oven. Tap water is drinkable, however may taste different to those accustomed to town or city water. The kitchen opens up to an open living space featuring a spacious sofa and a large screen Smart TV and high-speed Starlink internet. Enjoy a restful sleep, with each bedroom featuring a queen bed and dresser. The modern 3-piece bathroom is both comfortable and highly functional, complete with stand-up shower, vanity, towels, and basic toiletries. Two outdoor screened tent areas are available seasonally, one adjacent to the cabin and one located river-side. Guests have access to floating dock on the Black River, canoe and stand-up paddle board to use at guests' own risk. Water level fluctuates and no diving is allowed at any time. Please note, the dock, canoe and SUP board have been removed for the winter season. Guests will have access to the entire cottage. Lockbox code, where the front door key is kept, will be provided prior to check-in.
