1 night at Hicks Haven

We had an amazing day here. The trailer was cozy and cool, which is great with the summer heat. It was also very clean and neat when we arrived. The beach is only a few minutes away and we were allowed to borrow a Parks Pass which meant we could visit for which was great! Both of our hosts were very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and when we arrived Marilyn was there to greet us and show us around the property. Overall it was a great experience and somewhere that we would love to visit again.

Weekend Trip to Shiloh Barn Glamping

Wonderful stay! Cute personal touches and all the things you need for relaxing camping. The barn atmosphere is better than the photos and the entire area is private and quiet. Jessica is also super responsive and thoughtful. Highly recommend.

What a hidden gem spot! Marilyn was such a generous gracious hostess. The property is well-maintained with beautiful gardens and lots of space to wander. The bed is so comfortable. It's brand new! Coffee and games and a cool projector for you to use! There are so many beautiful places to go outside and sit and enjoy the beauty. Delicious fresh veggies from the garden too! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Everhill Farm

What a great weekend camping at Riverbend site, it was right beside the river. You weren't close to the next camper you had privacy, good trails to go hiking and wasn't bad for fishing too. Josh and his son where great host and friendly. Every time Josh drove by he'd stopped by to check up make sure everything is going good or if you needed anything.

Absolutely fabulous spot to rest and restore! My partner and I loved the location, the views were beautiful and the host was incredibly kind. The delivery of eggs on arrival and free wood was a huge bonus. Just a beautiful property, with plenty of privacy at Site #5. Bathroom was super clean and flushes. If we are ever to visit the area again, we will definitely stay here!

Weekend Trip to Liz H.’s Land

We had a 1 night stay with friends at Liz’s it was wonderful and super private. Liz and her husband were so friendly, they showed us options where we could stay, where the hiking trails are and told us all about their great farm! They are so accommodating bringing us super dry fire wood and even a grill for the fire pit to cook on! We will definitely be back and will absolutely be buying some farm fresh eggs for breakfast and maple syrup if we are lucky enough! Thanks again!

Weekend Trip to White Pine Forest Farm

Melanie is a warm, kind and attentive Host. The bunkie is close to Melaine's home which was fine, it's like having close neighbors that respect your space and have boundaries. The bunkie is small and cute, is comfortable and there is a fan to help with heat during these crazy heat waves. The firepit area is quaint and private and there were fire starters and plenty of wood to enjoy the fire. You can cook on the open fire but depending on your needs, you might want to bring a portable bbq or a coleman stove. Their property is beautiful and peaceful with trails to walk on (bring bug spray). Melanie gave clear directions to get there and great directions to the beach which is important when you struggle with being directionally challenged...lol! I would definitely return again. This was our second time staying here this summer, this time at the Millbank site. Another amazing weekend and Josh is a fantastic host, making sure you have everything you need. The site is a little noisier being by the highway, but you can block it out easy and the layout of the site makes up for it.

Weekend Trip to Everhill Farm

We had an amazing time camping at the Riverbank site at Everhill Farm this weekend with our two young kids and two dogs. Josh was incredibly kind and attentive and we appreciated his hospitality and that of those in his family or supporting the campers! Kids had a blast fishing and catching huge crawfish and we even tried floatie tubes on the river. We walked the dogs around the beautifully well maintained property enjoying the views and observing a surprise apiary. The campsite itself was incredibly spacious and private, sounds of the river made it that much more relaxing. Quick 5 min trip to and from town if needed. Beautiful spot, easy camping, would definitely recommend, we’ll definitely be back to this spot! Thank you Josh and family for a wonderful weekend!

Our home is located on the edge of elmira. We live on 14 acres. We built a 1 acre campground on our property which also has a few trails for you to wander. The property is great for walking your dog leash free. Close to amenities and town but also feels secluded. Your campground includes - fire pit - walking trail - large cut grass field - great for dogs and walking dogs - abuts farm land with lots of privacy - no hydro available at main campground but for an extra charge I can provide a generator - porta potty on site which is very clean. - ability to park on grass or gravel - depending on time of year pond, it does dry up but dogs love swimming in it. - great sunrises and sunsets - 2 minutes to groceries and liquor stores, restaurants, Tim Hortons, Dog Park etc. - Lots of wood supply for fires (Extra Charge) The property can accommodate multiple camping reservations but for now we are only accepting 1 at a time on a a 5 acre portion of our 14 acres. The pond does dry up as the summer goes on as of right now until we renovate it, And we do not allow swimming in it (Animals are ok).

The Farm

It was 1984 when John found his ‘diamond in the rough’, 20 acres with an orchard on the outskirts of Brantford. O.K., so the house was nothing to write home about but perfect for building a construction yard…no neighbors except for the family across the road that used their property to build log homes. By 1987 the old house was gone, a new one was being built and a shop for working on heavy equipment had been located about 200 ft. from Dr. the back door. It wasn’t until 1996 that things changed very much. Yes, the property around the house had benefitted from a wide array of trees and shrubs that John saved from the construction/demolition jobs he had done and that still thrive today but no big projects (except for equipment purchases) were ongoing. A chance meeting with the neighbor across the road one day resulted in the following dinner conversation, ‘How was your day’ I chirped. ‘Not bad, so-and-so didn’t come in; the truck broke down and I took it for repair; I bought the property across the road, and oh, yeah I’ll need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ was John’s casual reply. ‘What was that’? I pressed. ‘Yes, I need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ he repeated with a bit more volume. Of course like anyone, I had questions, ‘Do you want peas or corn with dinner’? ‘What time do you want to go to get the truck’? ‘The property across the road’, 10 acres, still has the 4 storey barn with its twin tiled silos which was built in 1914 and the big white house with wrap around porch that once was home to a Doctor and his family. Built so the Doctor could see his patients in the front with the family living in the back was very common in the day. Things remained relatively peaceful until 2000 when after studying alpacas for more than 6 years I bought our first three. Back in 2000 alpacas and llamas were not frequently seen on farms and because they could been seen from the road they received A LOT of attention. People driving by would stop and ask about them, ask if they could take a picture or two and that was when I would hear over and over again ‘You have a beautiful place here, I wish I/we could stay’. Well, if you want to visit and stay in the city it’s doable, we call it a hotel. But visiting a farm and staying well, that isn’t so easy. Each year we would see more and more families coming to ‘The Farm’ as they would call it. Some came to see the alpacas and horses, some came for a stroll and to check out the horse drawn milk and bread delivery wagons, some to have family birthday parties, others to have engagement/wedding/Christmas card pictures…and so many asked if there was any way they could spend a day or two. In 2021 during a conversation with a friend I mentioned we were in the process of gutting the 1100 sq. ft. space downstairs and turning it into an Airbnb! Right away she said, ‘I don’t know why you don’t have a Hipcamp? You’ve got that great area by the new barn that Hipcampers would love’! After a little investigation I found out what a Hipcamp was…and as they say, the rest is future.

The Bell tent sleeps 2 people comfortably on a Queen Bed. If you would like to add 2 more guests they are welcome to bring their own tent and bedding for a small added fee. Secluded Starry Nights

Located in the hamlet of Mosborough on 113 acres, this is a working farm with open fields, an old orchard, and 27 acres of forest. We are a short drive to Guelph Lake, the Elora Gorge, Guelph to Goderich rail trail, and a 25-minute drive to St Jacob's farmers market. And a 1.4 km walk to a small country market and bakery. A great site for families that you can call home and plan day trips around the area, or hang out at the campsite. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. We have 3 campsites that are spread out on 4 acres of grass. 1 site is used for temporary summer trailers, 2 are for camping. Pets are welcome, but keep them on a leash. Please remember to remove all garbage and recycling from campsites, a compost bin is available on site by the garden. A portable toilet is available from May 15 to the end of thanksgiving weekend in October. A 2 night stay is required for summer weekends. We look forward to hosting you!

Sweet Pond Camping

A peaceful nature space with a large magical pond (the size of an olympic swimming pool) to bask in, plus a 44 acre forest to roam. You will have access to clean water to swim in (no soaps or detergents in the pond please, we also swim in the pond regularly so we might see you in there!), clean water to drink + wash dishes in, lots of safe flat parking for cars and camper vans, lots of safe flat grass for tents, a giant forest, views of a few beautiful horses doing their own thing on our pastures (do not feed them or go within the fenced off horse areas), loads of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and more! We require quiet after 9pm, and before 9am. No excessive substance use please. No substance use if you are going to swim. Private simple camping toilet/outhouse setup with view of nature. Water for washing hands. No shower. We moved here because we thought it was beautiful, and we hope to share that with others. We live here, and enjoy the water and land every day. Looking forward to welcoming you and sharing our space!
