This place is so much more than camping! I held new lambs, had horses at my door and felt the love and passion that goes into a farm. I slept more than I have in ages. I was invited to join in daily activities but also left to lounge and your on my own. You are surrounded by animals so bring boots as there is poop! The outhouse is well stocked. I will be back! My Fiancé & I loved our rainy Saturday night stay at Jack’s Cabin! Malissa & Corey were very helpful - Corey gave us a lift back to the cabin; the rain had made the trail a smidge mucky. They also answered any questions we had very promptly. The cabin was clean, quaint and homey - complete with a wicked selection of DVD’s, board games, puzzles and a few different books to read. If you’re looking for a romantic night away with your loved one, Jack’s is the way to go! We’re sure to return.

This was such a great winter getaway! Malissa and Cory’s cabin was literally perfect for us. Our dogs absolutely loved exploring the trail and woods around the cabin. Spirit Ridge Acres

We are a small hobby farm set within a mature forest setting. There are two, newly built tiny home bunkies that are situated in private areas of our property, yet close enough to our main house for security, Each bunkie has a modern outhouse with composting toilets and non potable water for washing Guests will have the opportunity to commune with nature as we have a multitude of bird species and there is always good possibilities of wildlife viewing, as guests stroll down the nature trails. There are plenty of very cool areas along the trail where guests are able to participate in forest bathing/meditation or can just relax and listen to the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees. We have a couple of very gentle horses on our farm, that if anyone wishes, can schedule a time meet them and do some therapy grooming. There is also a small flock of egg laying hens that are quite social. We have a small on site store, which has some beautiful wood crafts that are created in our woodworking shop. Live-edge wood tables/charcuterie boards and other beautiful pieces as well as a large display of gorgeous healing crystals and metaphysical items are available for purchase if that's your interest. We are less than a 10 minute drive to Bobcaygeon, where you can find the world famous Kawartha Dairy, scrumptious restaurants, specialty clothing boutiques, grocery stores and pharmacies. Sturgeon Lake is the predominate lake with fabulous fishing/boating/ swimming. A 20 minute drive will get you to Fenelon Falls, Buckhorn or Kinmount where you will find the famous Kinmount Movie Theater that have the latest movies available. The Canadian Rail Trail is also nearby for anyone that wants to do some biking/hiking.

Sitting by a bon-fire at night, with the stars bright in the dark sky. Enjoying a good book or a walk on the property looking out for Wild Turkey's, Coyotes, Raccoons, Ground hogs and a variety of Bird's. Take an evening walk to the top of the hill to catch a beautiful farm sunset over the corn fields. Local businesses nearby are Brooks Farm Playground and Market 2 min up the road. Rose Family Farm with fresh cut fries 4 min away. Musselman's Lake is a 6 min drive to enjoy the fabulous Fishbone on the Lake, casual outdoor dining. In nearby Stouffville find Timber Creek Mini Golf, Gallucci Winery, Willow Springs Winery + Tree top trekking at Bruce's Mill. With many hiking trails in the area including Eldred King Woodlands, Vivian forest Trails, Durham Regional Forest and almost directly across the road and slightly south of our property new York Region Forest walking/hiking trails can be accessed. Nearby restaurants are the Coach House Pub, Country Stop and Crupi's Pizza located in Ballantrae. In the quaint little town of Mt. Albert 5 min up the road you'll find Twisted Fork, The Wing House, The Pub and Chen's Chinese. Mt. Albert has a local Foodland with an LCBO in it open till 8pm daily. Ballantrae Ultramar 6 min away also has an LCBO open till 11 pm daily. Uxbridge is nearby and a large variety of restaurants and shopping with a local outdoor venue, Winery + vineyard called Slabtown Cider + co. making fabulous ciders + wines . Lots to check out in the area, or simply stay put at The Shack and enjoy cooking a meal on the BBQ in the outdoor kitchen area (propane included) and relaxing by the bonfire (wood included). The Shack is equipped with some cooking items, pots + pans, BBQ and utensils, knives, cutlery, plates, coffee cups, bowls, glasses + (wine glasses) cutting board, tray, kettle and a small chest cooler to keep your food and drinks cold (you will need to bring the ice) Dish washing rack is provided, as well as large jugs of clean potable water for cooking/drinking and doing the dishes. This completely private property has many trails to explore, comes with a canoe and a rowboat, and is perfect for people of all ages seeking adventure or a tranquil atmosphere to relax and rejuvenate. A cozy adventure retreat in the woods perched above a peaceful paddling lake that is environmentally protected. Many trails throughout the property have diverse character and back onto hundreds of acres of crown land with an abundance of wildlife. This wilderness escape is just a 2-hour drive from Toronto yet completely secluded. There are no people or houses in sight, no cars, no lights – only the whispering of the towering pines and the sounds of nature. There are three comfortable cabins on-site, Pine Ridge, Vista, and Brooks, each uniquely positioned for maximum privacy and unobstructed views. The cabins are accessible by a short walk from the parking lot and come equipped with a kitchenette, a fully screened porch, and a tree-house-like sleeping loft. Vista and Brooks have a wood-burning stove and can be used in winter. Pine Ridge is a 3 season cabin with no heating source. Come here and enjoy nothing but silence - the serenity makes you feel that you are the only one on Earth. Stroll down to the lake to canoe, paddle, swim, fish, or grab your backpack and head down to the QE II Provincial park to explore extensive canoe routes and hiking trails. In the evening, relax with your favourite drink and enjoy the sounds of wildlife around you. Sound - after 10:00 pm there is a noise curfew, but even before that you must make sure you are respectful of other guests on the property who come to relax, as well as our neighbors in this quiet countryside region. In the event of any noise rule violations, such as loud music or disturbances after 10:00 PM, a $500 fee will be applied from the deposit. Power - we are on solar energy, embracing an eco-conscious lifestyle. Our off-grid setup ensures that your stay in the Dome is in harmony with nature.
