Edges Sideroad Springs

6 sites · Lodging, Tents65 acres · West Grey, ON
We have owned the property for 19 years. The camping area was once a gravel pit which was rehabilitated in 2020. There is agricultural land that is farmed in the summer as well we host bees at that back of the property . A unique feature on the property is a natural spring that bubbles up and feeds the two streams on the property.

Very Private Riverside

1 site · Tent70 acres · Stratford, ON
I am a country girl who loves to meet people from around the world and share our beautiful bit of space with others who seek quiet and solitude. Steve is my husband and the capable hand that brought my dream of a HipCamp alive. We seek to share our special property with guests who want to drink in nature in a very quiet setting. You will have 1 large campsite beside a river in a lightly forested area, surrounded by farmland. You will be the only booking on our complete 70 acres, so you can enjoy this piece of country in privacy. Cook all your own food over a campfire, or try area restaurants or pizza (5+ km away). A tent structure with a 'thunder box' set-up brings you privacy for bathroom needs. You will be expected to dispose of your waste in the compost bins provided. There are two tables and seating for four, a swing to enjoy gazing over the river, and a few other spaces to discover. Wake to the gobble of wild turkeys and possibly the yipping of coon kits or wild coyotes. Bring your pet. You can drive your own 4x4 near (but not onto) the campsite when it's dry. The last hill is carry-in. Or you can choose to begin your detox with a 1 km moderately challenging hike through woods, fields and meadow while we run your supplies back. Buy campfire bundles or gather your own from abundant amounts of deadfall in the woods. During the day you can wade up the river or dangle a line. Every week of the year, the river changes and offers its own experience, sometimes full and fast, and sometimes slow and meandering. We welcome you to harvest the woods for berries, build wigwams with downed wood, and wander the trails with your canine family member to enjoy off-leash roaming. Once you turn in for the night, you will sleep well in the quiet with darkness high-lighting the stars. We are near Millbank with the famous Anna Mae's bakery and pleasant, family-run, Zehr's Country Market for fresh local foods and basic groceries. Kitchener-Waterloo and Listowel are the nearest largest cities.

A Piece of Heaven

2 sites · Tents50 acres · Hanover, ON
A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre covered bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy. Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing. The property is mostly 50 yr old pine trees with a couple walking trails throughout. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable mutt Walker and the two new dogs who ate getting loveable, Bella and Hunter. The sunsets can be spectacular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. Also, the covered bridge is there if, HEAVEN FORBID, it rains, where you can seek coverage and watch and listen to it fall. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment. There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. We are sorry for this, but we only have a short season, and you'll be using up double the time you booked for. Terry and Ray P.S. Should you wish to come during off season please get in touch and if it's feasible we'll open up.
