Welcome to Whidden Road Homestead, tucked deep in the woods down an old forest road. Where you can experience the sights and sounds of a off-grid working homestead. You’ll be sleeping in a spacious canvas tent, complete with a wood stove to keep you warm, a real queen bed with fresh linens for a good night’s sleep, and lanterns for a soft evening glow. It’s rustic but comfortable, completely off grid, no power, no wifi, and we rely on rainwater. Outside you will find a hand built stone and mortar fire pit, a cook shack equipped with all your cooking needs - a Butane stove, plates. cutlery, cups, spices, can opener, oil, French press for coffee, a tea pot, along with coffee and tea. A cooler to store your food in, and a covered area to eat. Enjoy star-filled skies, bird watching, and the simple quietness of nature. Enjoy walking the trails, or enjoy other activities such as, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or hit the trails by ATV straight from the tent. There will be animals free ranging, from goats, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats, all friendly and more than welcome to say hi and give them pets. Animals on the Homestead: Chickens, Goats, Rabbits, Potbelly pigs, dogs, and cats. From roosters crowing, goats bleating, to piglets squealing, there are many farm animals to visit and give pets! We surprised my parents with a stay at Bootsie Back 40 Cabin for their 40th anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! The hosts went above and beyond with every detail. The cabin itself is so cozy and welcoming, surrounded by stunning fall colors that made the whole experience magical. My parents loved the peace and quiet — they spent their mornings sipping tea while listening to the birds sing. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and even took photos of my parents for me, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also got to visit the farm animals (including two emus!), which they absolutely adored. Thank you for helping me give my parents such a memorable and heartfelt experience. This will be a trip they’ll cherish forever!

Great little spot. The wood stove made it very cozy and we had enough power for the water, lights and coffee in the morning. It was great having a camping experience while not having to take down tents in the morning. Recommend it if you're in the area.

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the chalet. Our first night in NV at Porter's land was a thrilling adventure in nature, with the delightful chorus of birds. I even had a refreshing dip in the lake, and we were up before sunrise to witness the stunning sight of the sun rising over the misty lake. It was an exhilarating experience in Porter's land, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit!

Weekend Trip to Ingomar Oceanfront Camping

The site was lovely, right next to the sea with a beautiful view. The tent has everything you need, to cook, a bbq outside and heat plate inside, the gaz is included and there's solar powered lamp in the tent above on the table to cook inside. We just used our own French press to make coffee in the morning but that's about it ! The bed is lovely, there is an extra mattress for a third person. The site very quiet and we slept like babies. We had a very good night !

I loved my time at the bell tent. The view from the bed facing the screen door is beautiful and listening to the sound of the waves on the shore lulls you to sleep. There are enough amenities to be comfortable but it is rustic enough that you still have the simplicity of camping. A perfect combination for someone my age. The host is friendly and very accommodating. Many lovely beaches and sites to see within close driving distance. I would love to go back sometime!

Owl's Hollow is the perfect place for a getaway - Karen and Ben have truly thought about everything! In the Hut there was a book about forest bathing, and their property is truly the epitome of it - peaceful, serene and therapeutic. The beautiful views, steps from access to the lake and the added conveniences (chairs, structures, water, etc.) is unbeatable. Karen was quick to respond, kind and very accommodating. Weekend Trip to Moss Cottage Forest Glamping

I did not want to leave! Incredibly thoughtful touches everywhere (bug spray - which wasn't needed) solar lights with 1 remote to control them all, speaker, fans, so many things to use in the bathroom- too many to list) just know a lot of thought has gone into wondering how best they can be of service to folks. Easy walk in to the site (5-7 min). Lovely screened in porch to sit and listen to birds. Reading in bed is like being in a tree house with huge windows. And vintage stuff everywhere!!! A delight. Order the breakfast. She's a trained chef. Then go to Lunns Mills (she owns that, too) also swim at mickey hill lake. Clear warm water and hardly anyone there. 10 min walk through forest to the lake. Do it! Do it all!!

Perfect spot and location. Moss Cottage is the kind of place where you can walk in, drop your bags and immediately relax and start your stay. Every detail has been well thought out and provided for - from the kitchen with cooktop and every supply you might need, to the charging station, the local guidebooks and information, and rainy/lazy day books and games. The bed and sofa are very comfortable, the shower towels are plush and the decor and vibe are so warm and inviting. The tall glass windows in the shower and cottage place you in the midst of the forest and birds. This is a serene place that I didn't want to leave - but it's 10 minutes to everything Annapolis Royal has to offer and close to tidal beaches and a provincial parks and lake. Gary and Chantelle are fantastic, helpful and responsive hosts. I've already booked my next stay :)

David was the best host. He was thoughtful and welcoming. At Lobster Boat Inn, you have everything you need for a perfect unique glamping experience. The boat is a piece of art in itself. I highly recommand.
