Private Tent Near Halifax
The tent was a short walk (15-30secs at most) from the parking space you are alotted. It's on the host's property and accessed via a gravel path. Their house is separated from the tent by some trees that gave reasonable privacy. Well equipped with a fire pit, covered outdoor cooking area complete with the basics (pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, kettle, french press coffee maker, etc.), dining table inside, a couch, bed, chairs, nightside table, outhouse, outdoor sink, and outdoor heated shower. Sheets were clean and towels were provided. The tent is showing some signs of aging, but overall it was comfortable, safe, secure, secluded, and kept us and our stuff dry. My wife and I stayed with our 2 small dogs. While it is pet friendly, there is no grassy area to let them use the washroom (they'll just have to go in the woods off the walkways), and no sidewalks so you can walk them on the quiet neighbourhood streets. There is a mattress heater, but there is nothing to heat the tent itself, so dress warmly if there are cooler nights in the forecast. The bed frame was a bit shaky, but the mattress itself was comfortable. We'd also recommend showering before the air gets too cool in the evening. The lights in the washroom/sink/shower area were not working during our stay, so we recommend bringing some flashlights just in case. It is also a few steps down a slight incline away from the tent. We'd recommend staying at Heather's if you're exploring Halifax and the surrounding area.
