The Wild Islands, 100 Wild Islands, Wild Islands Coast. Regardless of the name, we couldn’t be more lucky to have this pristine wilderness at our fingertips. Considered to be “The most valuable islands you’ve never heard of”, the archipelago is one of the last remaining intact and ecologically rich island groups of its size in North America. We want to share it with you… responsibly. As members of 1% for the Planet and Leave No Trace Canada, we’re committed to conserving the islands and helping others to do the same. We believe that people can only fully appreciate the islands’ unmatched beauty and conservation value by experiencing them firsthand. Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean has been operating on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore for over 60 years! This makes Murphy’s Camping one of the longest-running campgrounds in Nova Scotia. Our campground lands began as a coastal fishing settlement where you’ll still find a fisherman’s wharf and the old salt fish tanks from years past when schooners would load this cargo bound for the New England market. Over the years the Murphys have provided services such as schooner supply runs, rum running, moon shining, boat building, blacksmith services, farm produce, and sport fishing.

I’ve stayed here twice while touring Nova Scotia by motorcycle [Imported from Google Reviews]
I’ve stayed here twice while touring Nova Scotia by motorcycle and I enjoy the nice family feeling of site. There are washrooms and showers, but COVID-19 has resulted in them being used as locked family use, so be prepared to wait in the morning. The ground for tents is a bit stony, and motorcycles are going to have some fun trying to get out to the waterfront sites as there are large rocks and some water run off that make it tough in a couple of spots.

Oh my Goodness! Best place I have Ever traveled to & stayed at! [Imported from Google Reviews]
Oh my Goodness! Best place I have Ever traveled to & stayed at! You are right on the ocean. Most of the campsites & trailer sites are on the cliff.. but there is a section where you can access the water! They have kayaks, a beach-side communal fire pit, a dock, boat launch, a “rest house” which has games, free coffee in the mornings, seating, cribbage lessons! Interesting knickknacks posted up on the walls! This place has a very friendly, communal atmosphere but also offers privacy and quiet. The tent campsites are nicely tucked away, giving an isolated illusion. Campsite 35 is Breathtaking. Words cannot describe it. Unfortunately that campsite was booked when I stayed, but I am already going to be booking it for next summer! *FYI the Murphy’s offer Work to Stay opportunity* Staff made me feel at home, very friendly, kind, knowledgeable. You can definitely sense the love and care and respect they have for their campsite, visitors, their property and the land/waters themselves. If you are coming to Nova Scotia, Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean is a Must Stop Spot!

We absolutely loved camping at Murphy's. [Imported from Google Reviews]
We absolutely loved camping at Murphy's. The campsites are spaced apart and with the surrounding trees, each site seemed very private. The level sites easily accomodate motorhomes or campers/tents. The view was spectacular!! Our site (32) water view was 3/4 around. We were here for fall colors and they did not dissapoint. The owners were very friendly and we had fun at the evening group campfire. I would highly recommend staying at Murphy's.
