Nestled in the Acadian Forest, Moss is a tranquil getaway. Experience bird song and owl hoots, watch wildlife come right up to your windows. Sit in the screen porch and listen to the wind in the trees, look at the stars and just breathe. Walk the meadows, visit the pond and keep your eyes open for tasty foraged treats. Inside you can enjoy a lush queen size bed, comfy seating to read a book or do a puzzle. The kitchenette is ready to make a pot of tea and light meals. Get back to nature here and enjoy the history of the Cradle of our Nation. With the historic and first town settled in Canada in 1604, Annapolis Royal is a short drive away or take your bike on the Harvest Moon Trail, the former Dominion Atlantic Canadian Rail Line, which runs along the Annapolis River. Visit Fort Anne or The Habitation at Port Royal for a step back into history. Walk through the Historic Gardens or stroll the beautiful streets of downtown Annapolis and experience food, drink and live events and the oldest farmers market in Nova Scotia. There are boat launches, and lots of lakes to swim and paddle on within 10 minutes of the cottage.Welcome to Moss, our off grid glamping cottage in the forest 🌲 The shape of a Gothic arch, the beautiful 15 foot high ceiling with mahogany panelling gives a throw back feel with mid century vibes and a touch of boho whimsy. Inside this one room cottage you will find a queen bed, kitchenette, lounging sofa, yoga mat, bookcase filled with games, novels, local interest guides, puzzles and more. Sit and watch from the bed or sofa all the nature that passes by your floor to ceiling window wall. Your screened porch offers a cozy table and chairs, fairy lights and binoculars to catch an endless number of birds and a wildlife just outside the door. A walk outside along the porch takes you to the washroom. Our shower with a view of the forest, sink and composting toilet. We have stocked the shelves with anything you may have forgotten on your trip. Walk 60 acres of rugged but beautiful forest and ponds, leading to an arm of the Round Hill River at the very end of the property. Peruse the meadows, our vegetable and flower garden or sit by the creek and listen to the gentle trickle of water. On the deck is a small barbeque for your use and lounge chairs. At night, look up and see all the stars and listen to owls, or rise with the birds and see the sunrise. Only 5 minutes to historic Annapolis Royal, 40 minutes to Kejimkujik and 20 minutes to the Bay of Fundy. The Harvest Moon Trail is perfect for walking or biking and access is just across the road. So much to sea and do, or just stay in for a nature retreat.

Everything was perfect & exactly as advertised. The screened in porch was a great place to sit and watch the forrest critters, and the comfy interior was cozy and beautiful.

Perfection

Moss - Forest Glamping

Perfect spot and location. Moss Cottage is the kind of place where you can walk in, drop your bags and immediately relax and start your stay. Every detail has been well thought out and provided for - from the kitchen with cooktop and every supply you might need, to the charging station, the local guidebooks and information, and rainy/lazy day books and games. The bed and sofa are very comfortable, the shower towels are plush and the decor and vibe are so warm and inviting. The tall glass windows in the shower and cottage place you in the midst of the forest and birds. This is a serene place that I didn't want to leave - but it's 10 minutes to everything Annapolis Royal has to offer and close to tidal beaches and a provincial parks and lake. Gary and Chantelle are fantastic, helpful and responsive hosts. I've already booked my next stay :)

Moss - Forest Glamping

I did not want to leave! Incredibly thoughtful touches everywhere (bug spray - which wasn't needed) solar lights with 1 remote to control them all, speaker, fans, so many things to use in the bathroom- too many to list) just know a lot of thought has gone into wondering how best they can be of service to folks. Easy walk in to the site (5-7 min). Lovely screened in porch to sit and listen to birds. Reading in bed is like being in a tree house with huge windows. And vintage stuff everywhere!!! A delight. Order the breakfast. She's a trained chef. Then go to Lunns Mills (she owns that, too) also swim at mickey hill lake. Clear warm water and hardly anyone there. 10 min walk through forest to the lake. Do it! Do it all!!

The property at Chantelle’s was a great way to be welcomed to the moss The hosts were wonderful and the cabin was more than expected. Very easy and comfortable for an off grid location. Will definitely be wanting to return in the future

Moss - Forest Glamping

We slept one night at Chantelle's and Gary's cottage/pod. It was amazing 😍😍😍 to hear all kind of different birds and we had a beautiful view on the forest. The pod was designed to provide an immersive forest experience for guests and we appreciate it! It was nice to meet Chantelle and Gary. We felt welcomed and at home. We hope to come back for another trip soon 💜.

We had such a sweet time. So many thoughtful touches, so many fireflies to watch out the window, everything felt perfect. The design and decor is to die for. We felt so lucky to be the first guests- we will def be back!

We had the most amazing stay! From the moment we arrived and felt so welcomed. Being greeted with fresh cookies was such a warm and thoughtful touch. The setting was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature and was peaceful. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. I am already ready planning our next trip back!
