This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!!
There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat!
Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit!
- TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent.
Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy!
**KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything.
For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share!
On the property, there is:

This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. We encourage our campers to also be free range and choose any nice quiet spot they find, a wide open sand lot, along the river, or deep in the woods. Campers are free to set up tents and sites on either side of the pasture, I don't allow trailer campers in the pastures as the cows tend to like to use them as scratching posts and can damage units. You never know when a litter of piglets is going to be born, a new calf arrives, or when the cows will skip the fence and we call on ya for a cattle drive, but always guaranteed something interesting is going to happen on the farm. We welcome campers to bring their pets responsibly, please be aware it is a livestock farm. For people vacationing or travelling with horses, we have stalls and paddocks available and plenty of sand arenas and trails to ride in. Key features of the property are definitely the livestock, horses, a beautiful swimming or fishing hole at the corner of the property tons of walking or biking trails, a beach volleyball court, huge bbq pit, firepit area complete with seating, bbq capable of roasting whole hogs if you're planning a party event or gathering. With 100, very accessible acres, so many things to do, to learn about free range farming, and country life, we're sure you will find a beautiful location to enjoy nature on our farm, and lots of fun for the kids.

We are situated on 65 acres of beautiful land. We have pasture and woodland to explore. We are located minutes from some of Nova Scotia's most picturesque beaches, including Rissers Beach Provincial Park, Crescent and Green Bay Beaches.
On the farm we have a herd of miniature goats, chickens, Kevin Bacon (pot belly pig) and a horse. Animals can be seen if arranged with host . We are working on nature trails through the natural forest. We encourage you to forage for your own fire wood but it can be purchased when available. We look forward to meeting you.
If you would like to add a little extra to your getaway we have a Registered Massage Therapist and Acupuncturist on site . If you would like to book a treatment during your stay please contact host .

For example, to stay all weekend, select Friday to Sunday. To stay only Friday night, select Friday to Saturday. Selecting only one date will not reserve the date you want as it expects a start and end date to select any given date or date range.

Big Belle Farm is surrounded by large hayfields on the front of our property and at the back behind where the concert will take place.
Tenters will be camping in the front fields and RVs will behind the concert field.
When you come onsite there will be someone to meet you who will point out the locations were you can setup your tent or RV.
There will be event Portable Toilets on site and access to water near the concert grounds.

We have a wood-fired sauna and communal CookHouse kitchen-dining building for guests. We also have the Hive Dome! This 26 foot year-round space is the perfect place to host your own event with us, gather for our movie nights, board games, playing music, and retreat from bad weather with so much space to move around.
Guest Use of the Hive: While you are staying on the property, we welcome guests to reserve time in the Hive for their own private use. Our staff will prepare this space for you by lighting the wood stove, stocking wood and heating it up for your arrival. Stretch, practice yoga, play games or music, or celebrate with your group!
$30 + HST for a 3.5 hour reservation to current guests

The campground is located on Long Island a five minute ferry ride from the mainland. The campground is a mixture of old and new forest the sites were planned with privacy in mind. Each of the sites are different offering a variety of choices. Just 100 feet from the driveway is the trailhead for the Balancing Rock a top attraction in Nova Scotia. There is also many whale watching tours offered on the two islands. You can also go beach combing along different areas of the Island.

Minutes from Northumberland Strait and beautiful Big Island BeachSite has access to River for Kayak or canoe launch which leads into Merigomish Harbour. Moo Nay Farms is a located in Cooks Brook, Nova Scotia, about an hour from Halifax and 20 minutes from our local airport. We are a 100 acre free range beef, pig and rabbit farm, and horse boarding facility on a corner bordering on 2 rivers, a running brook and a sitting on a huge pile of sand. We encourage our campers to also be free range and choose any nice quiet spot they find, a wide open sand lot, along the river, or deep in the woods. Campers are free to set up tents and sites on either side of the pasture, I don't allow trailer campers in the pastures as the cows tend to like to use them as scratching posts and can damage units. You never know when a litter of piglets is going to be born, a new calf arrives, or when the cows will skip the fence and we call on ya for a cattle drive, but always guaranteed something interesting is going to happen on the farm. We welcome campers to bring their pets responsibly, please be aware it is a livestock farm. For people vacationing or travelling with horses, we have stalls and paddocks available and plenty of sand arenas and trails to ride in. Key features of the property are definitely the livestock, horses, a beautiful swimming or fishing hole at the corner of the property tons of walking or biking trails, a beach volleyball court, huge bbq pit, firepit area complete with seating, bbq capable of roasting whole hogs if you're planning a party event or gathering. With 100, very accessible acres, so many things to do, to learn about free range farming, and country life, we're sure you will find a beautiful location to enjoy nature on our farm, and lots of fun for the kids.

We are Forest Glen Adventures, we are located in Yarmouth Co, 40klms where the Cat Ferry from Maine lands. We are located on hwy 340 in a very quiet village , enjoy dark skies and a campfire.
We have 2 Bunkies on the property both very private, both off grid. The Meadowbrook comes with 2 folding camp cots 50$ per night . The Stargazer has a comfy double futon 60$. Both have bbqs, and fire-pits.
We have Plenty of level spots to pull into for the night.

Chris was a great host! He greeted us at the campsite on a rainy November night and had made sure to have a roaring fire for us when we got there despite all the rain! The views from The Point in the morning were beautiful - perfect spot to enjoy coffee & breakfast in the sun. Chris came to check in on us in the morning to make sure we had everything we needed.

Great spot with a great view of the effects of the Fundy Bay tidal shift on rivers. The host met us and escorted us to the spot. We parked in a grassy field with beautiful views. We were joined by friends in their own van and it made for a lovely evening.

We surprised my parents with a stay at Bootsie Back 40 Cabin for their 40th anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! The hosts went above and beyond with every detail. The cabin itself is so cozy and welcoming, surrounded by stunning fall colors that made the whole experience magical.
My parents loved the peace and quiet — they spent their mornings sipping tea while listening to the birds sing. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and even took photos of my parents for me, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also got to visit the farm animals (including two emus!), which they absolutely adored.
Thank you for helping me give my parents such a memorable and heartfelt experience. This will be a trip they’ll cherish forever!

We called ahead and Quinton met us as we drove in and showed us to the site. We had our choice of spots because we were the only ones there. We watched the tidal bore come up the river and a mild sunset in the orchard. Early in the morning, we heard some ruffled grouse calling. A very peaceful stay.

Great little spot. The wood stove made it very cozy and we had enough power for the water, lights and coffee in the morning. It was great having a camping experience while not having to take down tents in the morning. Recommend it if you're in the area.

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the chalet. Our first night in NV at Porter's land was a thrilling adventure in nature, with the delightful chorus of birds. I even had a refreshing dip in the lake, and we were up before sunrise to witness the stunning sight of the sun rising over the misty lake. It was an exhilarating experience in Porter's land, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit!

Weekend Trip to Aspy Acres
What a great, private little spot right located at the tip of Cape Breton! If you’re adverse to national and provincial park campground feels, this is the site for you! It was very much our kind of camping, a lovely, quiet, private spot alongside a babbling brook, with the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline in the distance. 10/10 would recommend.

We arrived at sunset to Reginald’s farmhouse. Yard was mainly flat and easy to navigate. Sunset was beautiful, and we didn’t know when we booked that it was so close to the seaside.
We ate an apple from the tree which was delicious. Farmhouse is a little museum onto itself and smells slightly of damp. Bathroom has all necessities and shower was excellent.
Overall a perfect peaceful spot to stay!

For me, Fort Nova was heaven and strategically located. The peaceful setting was great. That peace was interrupted at times as I hiked down the trail to the huge beaver pond each morning with coffee in hand. The interruption was, many mornings, from either an eagle or an osprey.
Located an hour from Yarmouth and an hour from Liverpool, the farm was perfectly located to explore the entire southern part of the province. And, next door was a restaurant with a view of Jordan Bay.

From the moment we arrived at Chris’s land we felt very welcomed. Chris was onsite to greet us and show us the camping area. The camp is a work in progress so no high-tech fancy camping facilities, but if your aim is to lay back, relax and leave the daily grind behind this is your place. The campsites are along the shore and at low tide a great walk. Our site enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and after a full day of exploring the area we took our camp chairs to the shoreline to watch the magnificent sunset over the water. The camp is 30 mins from groceries and gas. Chris allows dogs to roam off leash and our pup loved the freedom. Chris and his mom Gail check in with you daily to talk and answer your questions and they go out if their way to help make your stay comfortable.
We booked for one night and immediately booked a second night. We ended up spending 5 nights. Thank you Chris and Gail

The point of the point is the view, as there is no cell service [though they do hope to remedy that issue], and no washrooms. That said Chris and his mother were wonderful and hospitable. The view is jaw dropping, and that alone is worth the stay. Also an amazing place to get away from everything.
