It was a lovely site. There are two sites for tents on either side of his long driveway. One is next to a creek. Small outhouse available. You can see/hear his family during the day as this is at their home. Very quiet at night, you can hear the creek and the ocean. Close to many beautiful beaches.

Great little home base for a couple days, beach right around the corner, nice forest and creek sounds all night, check in was easy, and host’s response time was awesome.
Accessed from what looks like an abandoned hunting trail, navigating down the overgrown wheel tracks, you arrive at a tiny clearing with a half destroyed firepit. The swarm of mosquitoes and bugs was so thick... I fired up the thermacell and got back into the car for 15min to see if that did anything - it did not. Even if I ignored the bugs, the clearing was barely big enough for a normal 3-person tent, the "firepit" was a half circle of rocks (the other half probably tumbled away into the forest), and there wasn't even room to set up a pair of chairs.
Across the road from the entrance was a gorgeous view of the water, the site certainly has potential, but it is in absolute shambles at the moment. I did not stay the night, I left soon after arriving to look for last minute accommodations elsewhere. Disappointing. I've camped in some treacherous conditions in northern Canada, but least I had to deal with either the bugs, or the poor sites - but never both at once

This was a great little site close to popular National Park/Cabot Trail attractions! We were camping with two small children, so it was nice to be able to camp at a secluded site while still having amenities nearby if needed. So many spectacular views just moments away. It was quite windy while we were there, and the site was well protected from the big gusts. Pack bug spray as the black flies were hungry. Great spot!

Michael was an amazing host! Gave us some great local spots to visit and they lived up to the fame! Super helpful upon check in/arrival so that things went smoothly. Definitely on our stay again list!

What a great, private little spot right located at the tip of Cape Breton! If you’re adverse to national and provincial park campground feels, this is the site for you! It was very much our kind of camping, a lovely, quiet, private spot alongside a babbling brook, with the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline in the distance. 10/10 would recommend.

It was a great experience at Aspy Acres. The site is clean and is near a beautiful view of northern coast of Cape Breton. Michael was very accommodating as well, and messaged me a few times to make sure I found the location and I was settled in.

Host is very responsive and helpful. Simple place to set up in a beautiful area. I loved how quiet and private it felt. Bathroom was clean, and campsite and many places an easy distance (and obviously scenic views) to get to. Thank you!

Camping at Aspy Acres was great. Secluded spot and Michael was very helpful in providing recommendations to nearby beaches because of the closed trails.
Close to everything, but a lots of bugs so bring a good repeller! We saw birds and animals it was nice

It’s a beautiful spot surrounded by nature and an excellent base for exploring the Cabot Trail and the northern part of the island. I loved falling asleep with the sound of the creek close by. That said, the mosquitoes and flies were extremely aggressive—even with Off Deep Woods, we were still getting bitten. Also, be aware that the listing doesn’t include any photos of the actual campsite, and some of the images are from other locations in the area, not the campground itself.

I thoroughly enjoyed my camp spot. Michael was very supportive and responsive when I needed information, right down to identifying the animal scat that was so close to my site. It was a little unnerving, as it was from a bear :-) The Bay was directly across the road, which was so nice to see. I left a stone pyramid to say goodbye and hope he noticed it.

Beautiful spot! Nice and private and not far off the cabot trail itself but the distance also gives quieter roads nearby! Perfect spot for stargazing and falling asleep to the sound of water!

Well laid out camp site in close proximity to dingwall, south harbour, white point, meat cove and many other amazing locations in the highlands and beyond. I would absolutely come back. Michael was also a responsive host and gave me a few great spots to check out during my stay.

Nice little site near a small creek, which provided nice background sounds. Outhouse was clean and well equipped. Sits were private. Recommend a bug tent during bug season.

We loved staying at site 5 near The Pools. So peaceful, beautiful, and loved having the water flowing right beside us.
We met Michael as well, who was great to chat with, very kind and helpful. He even helped carry one of our bags to our site. We would definitely stay here again.

The pools campsite is absolutely beautiful, and very private. Michael’s directions were excellent, and he had lots of very good suggestions of places to visit of the area. We really enjoyed our stay!
Our stay at the Pools campsite was a great experience! We had never camped at a walk-in site before, so it added more of an adventure aspect to our trip. The campsite and fire pit were set up great. It was soothing being able to listen to the stream all night long. We were glad we had our water shoes since there were 2 streams to cross to get to the campsite. Michael was an excellent host, he was available to help and make sure we were doing okay. Thanks again for having us!
