We had a wonderful time! Ground is nice and flat for tenting or a trailer, and the spot as a whole was very quiet. The only things we heard the whole night were the frogs croaking in the lake!
This was a great camping spot for our weekend. So much space and access directly into the lake was great for us. There are only a couple sites with woods to one side so it felt really private. Definitely a great option for those who prefer privacy and a more in nature experience than a proper campground.
Would also be great for a group as there would be plenty of space for another van/rig or tents.
The hosts were super nice and helpful. We would definitely like to come back!
We loved camping on Richard’s land! He was welcoming upon arrival, the site spacious having a porta potty on site was extremely convenient! He showed us a trail he had made through the woods and it led to a road that led to a brook, very nice! Overall the property was lovely and we would love to come again, this time without rain so we can enjoy the canoe and swimming in the lake!
This was by far my husband and my favourite camp site in the East Coast! I only wish we had stayed for more nights! The site is gorgeous! The lake is beautiful and clear. It was quite chilly when we went but I had to go for a swim in the lake anyway it was SO gorgeous - would be an incredible swimming spot in the summer. Richard was super kind and showed us around. Great trails for walking our dogs on the property. He even offered us free use of a canoe! Super quiet and private space. The owners have a dog which I was a little worried about since my dog is terrified of other dogs but it was no issue at all we didn't even notice. Could not recommend this camp site more!!!!
Nice quiet 2 day stay with a canoe and pota potty if you need them. Google maps takes you to the correct driveway at #3242. The owners driveway is the next one to the south, before this one if you are heading north. There's no numbers but you'll see the security chain.
Beautiful spot on Grant lake!
Very private and quiet.
Very large lot, easily fit our 20ft R-pod , truck and screen tent with room to spare!
Canoe and life vests on the lot for your use. A port-potty on your site and a large picnic table.
Loons and frogs sound lovely at night, lots of wild life, Eagles, kingfishers etc,,,
Only a short drive to the local grocery store.
We will be booking this site again!
We just returned from 2 nights at Richards campground and can highly recommend it! Richard is nice and makes sure he's available, but also gives you all the privacy you need. It would be challenging to tent here because of the site cover, but we have a van, so no worries. Site was huge, clean, has a clean porta potty, fire box and wood (ban was on for us, but good to know). Site is lakefront and pet friendly, our 2 dogs had fun swimming and squirrel watching! Beautiful & peaceful.
We will definitely be back!
What a gorgeous spot! Our site was huge, and was right on the lake! There was even a canoe with life jackets that we were able to use if we wished!! We were able to see two bald headed eagles soaring above the lake, absolutely beautiful!! The night sky was amazing, we could have stayed out all night looking at the stars…We were personally greeted at the gate, and taken to our campsite which was a sweet touch! We’ll be back for sure!
Cathie & Richard were very responsive. Cathie met us at the site and provided an overview of the property. The site was straightforward to get to. It had a great layout, well-maintained and very clean. Lots of space for a Class C RV. We appreciated the direct access to the lake, fire pit, firewood, and the large cleared area with a gravel pad. There is a porta-potty if you need it. We went during the weekday, and it was quiet and very serene. Surrounded by nature galore. What a peaceful place. The location was close to some great freshwater fishing lakes (Mushamush, Church Lake) within a 20m drive. Would stay again.
Wow – that was a truly wonderful stay. The site is incredibly beautiful, located right on the shore of a lake. Totally romantic and excellently equipped. Clean and well-maintained restrooms on site. The lake water is very clean and the shore is very accessible. It's in an absolutely beautiful location. Richard is a very friendly and helpful host. A site that comes highly recommended in every respect.
