The dome was beautiful! We had such a wonderful time. It was picturesque and peaceful. All amenities were as shown in the posting. It was clean and cosy. The sauna was a nice touch and easy to operate. Our hosts were on hand if we had any issues and their communication was brilliant. We loved our short stay and can't wait to go again!

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the chalet. Our first night in NV at Porter's land was a thrilling adventure in nature, with the delightful chorus of birds. I even had a refreshing dip in the lake, and we were up before sunrise to witness the stunning sight of the sun rising over the misty lake. It was an exhilarating experience in Porter's land, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit!

Weekend Trip to Blueberry Run Trail RV Site
We really enjoyed our stay at the Blueberry Run! The site was clean, organized, and offered full service (highly recommend the black box sewer add-on). We liked it so much we decided to stay an extra night. It’s a short walk to a wonderful coffee shop, and Halifax is only about 40 minutes away. On a rainy day we took a trip into the city, but the other days were peaceful and distraction-free — perfect for relaxing and being creative.

This was my first attempt at camping out with my own tent while roadtripping to Nova Scotia. It was a good experience! Shower and toilet was available, and it was a regular flush, surprisingly. Unfortunetaly for my 3-person tent, the nails cannot go through the wooden platform, so I installed it on the side. If you're Glamping or using the already available tents on-site, it might be a better experience due to bugs, since this has 2 ponds around. Overall, for a first time, I was satisfied! I just hope that the "Bois Road" that takes you to there ends up soon being paved, because that is one dusty unpaved road. At least the site is distant from it, so it's no problem!

Directions were clear to get to site, hosts were quick to respond to various queries & had done their research on DNR regulations & how they applied to their properties in light of the forest fire, trail access, & burn ban situation surrounding my visit. Sit was clear & as described. Wagon provided was functional & easy to use to navigate a trail from the parking to the site.

The Ship Wreck is a secluded getaway on Hennigar Lake 45 minutes from Halifax. It includes a converted 29’ sailboat, a large open air cookhouse including a wood fired pizza oven and propane fridge and stove and a wash house with composting toilet and gravity fed sink. Our Story The inspiration behind the name - Dordéan - is Mackenzie Joy, daughter of owners Shawn and Renena Joy. "Dordéan" is Irish for hummingbird, a nod to the family's Irish Newfoundland roots. Hummingbirds are mighty, little birds, known for their cheerful disposition and zest for life. They symbolize beauty, playfulness, grace and resilience. Much like hummingbirds, Mackenzie is small but mighty; a powerhouse in her own right. She is one of the happiest, kindest and most generous people you will ever meet. Despite her many challenges, she faces each day with strength, determination, persistence and resilience. As the saying goes "Good things come in small packages," Hummingbirds are tiny birds that pack a punch well beyond their size, serving as a reminder that one person can make a big impact on the lives of others and their community.

The campsite is located on a 6th generation farm where we have Angus cattle, chickens, vegetable and flower gardens and lots of space to enjoy nature. Campers can enjoy lovely views of the farm, take nature walks on the private trails and enjoy seeing the farm animals. We also offer farm tours to guests so they can see how a small farm operation works. We are located in New Ross, 1 hour from Halifax, and the community also offers many activities to do like explore Ross Farm Museum or enjoy one of the many trails. The farm also offers a lovely event space under a post and beam pavilion that was erected in 2018. The building is used for workshops and events but is also the site for camping. The building is covered and has lights for in the evening as well as a firepit. Tenting can be done on the gravel or lawn around the building.
